Nibsy is around 10 years old and came to us mid September after being used for hunting and living outside for her entire life. She is incredibly sweet and soaking up as much love as she can get. She will need an adopter who can keep the consistency with potty breaks and going outside because she has never been indoors before, she is doing great so far! She is good with other dogs and has been OK with cats so far too. She is very sweet and has a lot of potential. If you'd like to donate towards dogs like Sprig, we could use all the help that we could get. The seniors tend to be the most costly to take in but they deserve a chance too. Story
Sprig is around 10 years old and came to us mid Sept after being used for hunting and living outside for her entire life. She is incredibly sweet and soaking up as much love as she can get. During her spay it was found that she did have a high grade heart murmur. After ultrasound it showed that she has the very early stages of heart failure. She could live many more great years or she could have a shorter life expectancy. She is listed as special needs because of that. She will need an adopter who can keep the consistency with potty breaks and going outside because she has never been indoors before, she is doing great so far! She is good with other dogs and has been OK with cats so far too. She is very sweet and has a lot of potential. Found as a stray, she is now looking for a loving forever home where she can channel her playful, high-energy personality. Diamond is an outgoing girl who truly embodies the "fear of missing out"—she wants to be right in the middle of all the action and loves being involved in everything her family does. Because she is a spirited, bouncy jumper with a zest for life, she would thrive with an active owner and would do best in a home with children aged 10 and up. While Diamond is working on her leash manners and can be vocal when crated, she is a bright and affectionate dog who is eager to please. Thelma is a sweet, young stray rescued from the south who has blossomed into a loving and affectionate companion. Estimated to be 1–2 years old and weighing 25 lbs, she is fully housetrained and has adapted beautifully to indoor life—she especially loves curling up on the sofa or in a bed with her humans. Thelma gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is incredibly gentle with children, making her a perfect fit for a family. While she is generally a quiet girl, she has a playful side and can be vocal during playtime. As a high-energy young beagle, she is currently working on her leash manners and would benefit from some continued training. Bo is from a southern shelter where he struggled to thrive. Despite the staff's best efforts to find him a home, he remained without a match, so they reached out for assistance. This sweet, friendly 9-year-old weighed 49 lbs. when he arrived and has already lost six pounds. While solidly built, he could lose a little more to reach his ideal weight. Bo is generally easygoing, but he loves to go on walks. He jumps and dances when the leash comes out! His excitement and stamina will make him a good walking companion, which makes weight management easier for someone willing to invest time and care. Bo likes treats and his people a little too much so although he is able to live with another dog, he would prefer not to. He is friendly and polite when meeting them on walks. True to his beagle nature, Bo joyfully sings the song of his people when it's human mealtime and when dogs, people and cars pass his window. And, he exhibits hunting behavior towards critters, often alerting or howling when he detects them. This cuddly boy would thrive in a home with people around often so he can soak up all the love. Bo does not like to be crated, but he is house-trained and well behaved in the home. A fenced yard would be a bonus but is not required. Bo is fostering in the Boston area and available for visits!
