**SPONSORED ADOPTION FEE**Meet Thomas!Thomas is a young beagle mix - we say mix because he's way too tall to be full beagle. We don't know exactly what he's mixed with but it's definitely some kind of hound. He's only about a year old so very, VERY much still a crazy goofy goober with puppy-like energy and behaviors. He's about 35lbs so a good medium-sized boy...just with very long legs.Thomas is all things beagle - he has the big beagle bark, the need for speed, and the neverending urge to chase rabbits and squirrels. He does well with other dogs and just wants to play with them immediately so any other dog in the home will need to match the ✨vibes✨ We are looking for a home without cats - he'll be an instigator and pester them incessantly at the absolute minimum.Unfortunately for Thomas, he is heartworm positive. He will be starting treatment soon so we are looking for a "foster to adopt" arrangement. Treatment will be handled by us at one of our local vets so adopters must be prepared and be able to reliably make it to and from appointments. He also needs his activity restricted - leash walks are okay but, much to his displeasure, the speed demon antics need to be put on hold for now. He isn't terrible on a leash but does have the tendency to zigzag.Thomas is a sweet, affectionate, outgoing guy that loves people, attention, and all kinds of affection. He'll run right up to anyone and be their best friend - stranger danger is not a concept he knows and he doesn't care to find out. Diamond, named for the distinctive diamond-shaped patch on her back, was found by a Good Samaritan on the side of the road and was brought to Happy Life through one of our rescue partners. This friendly, sweet beagle mix is about a year old and weighs 35 pounds. She is an outgoing, energetic, and playful young dog with a lot of personality. She can be crated but tends to bark when she can see you. Diamond has serious FOMO (fear of missing out) and wants to be involved in everything. She gets bored easily and will thrive with an active and engaged owner. She loves to climb and jump, showing surprising agility and plenty of excited puppy energy, with not a mean bone in her body. She genuinely wants to be loved and to make those around her happy. Diamond is working on learning to walk on leash. Her excitement causes her to pull quite a bit. She will do best in a home with a fenced yard and an adopter ready to patiently work with her. She is a happy, bouncy girl who likes to jump to say hello. Although friendly with everyone, would likely knock over young children or seniors unsteady on their feet. Diamond will be heading north once an adopter or foster is found.

Bo is from a southern shelter where he struggled to thrive. Despite the staff's best efforts to find him a home, he remained without a match, so they reached out for assistance. This sweet, friendly 9-year-old weighed 49 lbs. when he arrived and has already lost six pounds. While solidly built, he could lose a little more to reach his ideal weight. Bo is generally easygoing, but he loves to go on walks. He jumps and dances when the leash comes out! His excitement and stamina will make him a good walking companion, which makes weight management easier for someone willing to invest time and care. Bo likes treats and his people a little too much so although he is able to live with another dog, he would prefer not to. He is friendly and polite when meeting them on walks. True to his beagle nature, Bo joyfully sings the song of his people when it's human mealtime and when dogs, people and cars pass his window. And, he exhibits hunting behavior towards critters, often alerting or howling when he detects them. This cuddly boy would thrive in a home with people around often so he can soak up all the love. Bo does not like to be crated, but he is house-trained and well behaved in the home. A fenced yard would be a bonus but is not required. Bo is fostering in the Boston area and available for visits!

Ruby is a young, friendly, playful beagle. She was recently returned to the rescue after several months because she figured out how to climb the chain link fence and escape the yard. Almost 2 years old and weighing 25 lbs, Ruby is affectionate and loves food, often jumping in anticipation of mealtime. She is respectful of other dogs’ food and enjoys spending time outside, though she cannot be left unattended due to her escape tendencies. Ruby adores attention and actively seeks it out. She especially enjoys being petted and will gently nudge you to keep the affection going. When not playing, she’s content to relax in her favorite chair or snuggle up next to another dog. Ruby has an excited, high-pitched squeal when she’s on a scent or thinks something exciting is happening outside. She is playful with other dogs and surprisingly rough-and-tumble for her size, often wrestling with dogs larger than herself. While she is generally playful, she can become overwhelmed and growly if another dog approaches unexpectedly, but this is all bravado and not backed by aggression. Ruby is being fostered south of Boston and is available for visits.

Timber is an adorable 3-year-old, 28 lbs. beagle mix with a charming, bobbed tail. He is initially timid in new situations and when meeting new people, but his sweet nature quickly shines through. He tends to warm up to women more quickly. Timber is making great progress with his foster mom and often seeks out belly rubs. He has gotten along well with the dogs and cats he has met, showing a more submissive than confident demeanor. Timber is playful and can get excited and rambunctious, but he respects other dogs when they don’t want to play. He loves being outdoors and enjoys playing with toys, often burying them in the sand. Timber is sensitive to loud noises and may flee to find safety, so he should be considered a flight risk. He is learning to walk comfortably on a leash but still needs practice and positive reinforcement. He is not a fan of car rides or being crated. Timber needs a patient adopter who can provide a stable and loving environment, helping him learn that the world is not as scary as it seems. With the right environment, Timber will blossom into a confident, affectionate companion. Timber will be headed north when an adopter or foster is found.
