Story
Age:   approx 2 years old   Weight: 18  lbs My adoption fee is $ 575  which includes transportation charges to the Northeast.   Riley was found by a good Samaritan who could not find her owner.  Riley was a little shy initially but she is quickly warming up.  She is a really sweet girl.  Riley does have the beagle voice but she would be a great addition to a family that loves the beagle breed. If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/January 12, 2026, 8:00 pm

Story
Meet Paisley, a gentle beagle girl whose heart is finally ready to bloom. Paisley was found wandering as a stray in Mississippi, scared, skin raw with mange, skinny and hungry. When she was finally caught and brought to the shelter over a year ago, she was timid and unsure of the world. But with time, kindness, and steady care, Paisley is slowly rediscovering what it means to feel safe.Today, Paisley loves to go outside, stretch her legs, and run free—her beagle nose in the air, ears bouncing, soaking up every bit of sunshine. She is well-mannered, walks beautifully on a leash, and enjoys exploring at her own pace.Meeting new people can still make her a bit shy at first, but once she trusts you, she becomes affectionate and loyal. She has done well with children she’s met, gently accepting their attention and company. Paisley isn’t just looking for a place to sleep—she’s searching for someone patient enough to let her continue to blossom, someone who sees not just who she is today but who she is becoming. Watching this girl learn to love and trust again is a truly rewarding experience. Her ideal home will be one that listens to her comfort level and respects her space. If you’re ready to be the chapter in Paisley’s story where everything finally gets better, she’s waiting—soft eyes, steady heart, and so much hope.Name: PaisleyBreed: Beagle/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 42.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing. Story
Sonic Henson is currently in Rhode Island and looking for a ‘furever’ home! Sonic is not comfortable with men and is looking for a women only home that will respect his boundaries. He can be reactive to other dogs and would need very slow, structured introductions and plenty of time to acclimate. An adopter committed to continuing his training and confidence building will help him continue the great progress he has already made. Once comfortable sweet little Sonic is a total ham and an expert cuddler who loves being as close to his people as possible. He adores sleeping snuggled in bed, happily follows you from room to room, and despite that is also great in his crate and sleeps through the night. He is just as happy lounging around as he is playing fetch, going for walks, or riding in the car. Sonic is smart and truly enjoys training. He's ready to be an incredibly devoted companion for the right home willing to go at his pace. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.      February 7, 2026, 8:48 am

Story
Please contact Mark (btfoha@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Adoption Donation $199    Located: New England Age: approx. 10 years old Weight: 40 lbs.   Louie, also known as Dre, was picked up as a stray in a local city, and no one came looking for him, which really is surprising because he is such a sweet guy with a beautiful temperament and coat and appears to have been well cared for and loved. He loves being outside, going for walks, playing fetch, squeaky toys and going for rides in the car. He is very much a lapdog and would love someone to be around more than not. He does have some old man lumps and bumps that the vets says are fatty tumors and not of concern. One is larger than the others but does not cause him any discomfort. Louie could stand to lose a few pounds and would benefit from regular exercise and a healthy diet. He is happy to be out of the shelter and in a foster home but would really love a family of his own again. This guy is a younger 10 year old that still has pep in his step and plenty of life left to live and love to give. He is doing great with the 5 year old boy in his foster home.    If you are interested in adopting Louie/Dre please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  btfoha@gmail.com  Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc.
