Story
Meet Tallulah, a 4-month-old beagle mix, who was rescued as a tiny puppy from a drainage ditch. Her 15-pound beagle-mix mama led rescuers to her five puppies shortly after they were born. Now, at a little more than 4 months old, Tallulah has already surpassed her tiny mama in weight. Weighing in at 20 lbs currently, we think she’ll be a nice medium size when full grown, possibly 40-50 lbs. Tallulah is the sweetest girl who loves to snuggle up with her puppy siblings and her humans. She’s currently a little shy, especially around new dogs, but she’s starting to come out of her shell as she’s exploring the world of her new foster home and meeting the other dogs there. Her new parents will have to understand that Tallulah still has a lot to learn and experience to become a more confident dog. But she’s well on her way, and her sweet disposition, quiet demeanor and medium size should make her an overall easy dog.  Her foster mom hopes her new home will have the time to devote to making her the best dog she can be with daily exercise and lots of love and attention.

Story
Meet Tilly 🎉 Are you searching for the perfect medium-sized lap dog? Then meet Tilly, a 4-month-old beagle mix, whose favorite hobby is sitting on your lap. Tilly was rescued as a tiny puppy from a drainage ditch. Her 15-pound beagle-mix mama led rescuers to her five puppies shortly after they were born. Now, at a little more than 4 months old, Tilly has already surpassed her tiny mama in weight. Weighing in at 19 lbs currently, we think she’ll be a nice medium size when full grown, possibly 40-50 lbs. Tilly is the sweetest girl who loves to snuggle up with her puppy siblings, but she’s always the first in line to snuggle with her human. She’s super affectionate and always leaning against her foster mom or sitting on her lap. She’s currently a little shy, especially around new dogs, but she’s starting to come out of her shell as she’s exploring the world of her new foster home and meeting the other dogs there. Her new parents will have to understand that Tilly still has a lot to learn and experience to become a more confident dog. But she’s well on her way, and her sweet disposition, along with her tendency to be right near you and her medium size, should make her an overall easy dog.  Fun fact about Tilly: She’s got one eye with black eyelashes and another with white eyelashes.  Her foster mom hopes her new home will have the time to devote to making her the best dog she can be with daily exercise and lots of love and attention.”

Story
Age:   approx 1 years old   Weight: 41  lbs My adoption fee is $ 299 which includes transportation charges to the Northeast.   Betty has arrived in Rhode Island from Louisiana and she is terrific!  This black and white mixed breed beauty is reminiscent of cookies and cream ice cream, and every bit as sweet!   At approximately a year old and 41 pounds, Betty is pretty much full grown.  She will need training, continued exercise and mental stimulation to keep her busy and tired and her best self.   Betty walks nicely on leash and is a good car rider too!  She enjoys the company of other dogs for a little race and chase, followed by some snuggling.  Betty needs to be the only dog in the home because she can be food aggressive with other dogs. If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/April 30, 2024, 3:21 pm

Story
Bailey Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Bailey is an adorable, 7 year old beagle mix, whose tail doesn’t stop wagging! He’s a super friendly, sweet & affectionate guy, who’s 30 lbs of happy! Bailey’s a pretty chill guy who enjoys hanging with his humans, no matter what they’re doing! He has a calm temperament and enjoys snuggling, chewing on bones & sitting outdoors with his people. He enjoys playing with other dogs, but prefers female dogs who match his size & low to moderate activity level. He’d do best in a home with a fenced yard, as he tends to chase squirrels & bunnies on walks. He’s a confident guy, who loves meeting new people & receiving attention from them. He’s great with kids, but the unpredictable movements of toddlers can make him a bit nervous, so kids 8+ are best. At the end of the day, Bailey loves nothing more than curling up with you on the couch. He can’t get enough snuggles & belly rubs! He’s used to having people around and would thrive in a home where people are with him more often than not. Bailey’s an affectionate boy who’s looking for a family to share all his love with! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements.

Story
Sweet Willy came from a home where he and 9 other Beagles were chained to garbage cans their entire lives. Taken off the chains only when the owner hunted with them. Willy had the worst situation of them all, his garbage can was so small that her couldn't even stand up in it! His back was so sore when he arrived that it took him a week or so before he could comfortably run and play with the gang. He was chained up like that for 10 YEARS! Willy is the sweetest boy you will ever meet and just needs a home where he can live out his days with lots of love and good care. He is very healthy, heart worm negative, crate trained microchipped and ready for his forever home. Could that be you? Please give him a chance! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $250

Story
Adoption Donation   $ 499    Located in: RI (Transportation costs to the Northeast included, please ask for more details) Age: Approximately 3 years old Weight: 23 pounds Harriet lived on the streets of a small town in Mississippi until she was trapped a few months ago. It's clear that humans have failed her and been unkind.  She has made strides in foster care, however, she may always be cautious and a tad fearful of strangers. She comes up for pets but is quick to jump back if you move too fast. Harriet needs a secure fenced yard as she is a flight risk and fearful of so many things. She shouldn't have access to the front door in case she decides to bolt.   Having said all this, Harriet is a good girl and gentle. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She’s also house trained, crate trained, utd on vetting, good with other dogs & cats. She’s silly, playful and a funny little girl. Harriet's furever home must have a 6 foot fenced yard, and her adopter should be experienced with fearful dogs. ADULT ONLY HOME NEEDED,    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  foster.adopt.repeat.2021@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters.
