Story
We’re looking for the right long-term home for our 1-year-old spayed female beagle/pit mix. She’s a really happy, friendly, and enthusiastic dog who brings a lot of energy and personality with her. She loves being around her people and will quickly become your shadow once she bonds. She’s affectionate, eager to please, and trains easily. Fully vaccinated, house trained, crate-comfortable, and very athletic - she loves space to run.She does have some territorial tendencies and bonds closely with "her" people. Because of that, she may do best as the only dog. She enjoys playing with other dogs, but cohabitating hasn’t worked out in our home as the other pets have not been receptive as we'd hoped. And job our situation has changed, and we can’t give her the time and exercise she deserves. We really do love her and want to find a home where she can fully thrive and live her best life. With the right match and energy, she’s going to be an incredibly loyal, fun, and loving companion.

Story
Lacey is a super sweet and loving dog, but needs time to feel comfortable. Sadly she was rescued from a hoarding situation, so can be shy at first. Once she gets to know you, she is a total snuggle bug. She has a gaining more confidence every day, and is doing great using potty pads, and learning our dog door. Because she is still learning how to be a dog, she would be best in a home without very small children. She does great with dogs and cats. 100% of our animals are in foster homes, this gives us the ability to get to know our pets really well, which helps us match our adopters with their perfect companion! If you are interested in learning more about this pet, please fill out our quick adoption survey. Once received, the foster parent will be in touch to answer any questions, and discuss next steps. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MARQ/Dog All dogs and cats are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, and are current on age appropriate vaccines and preventions, and are available to meet by appointment.

Pet Location: Wayside Waifs Campus - Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me! My Friends at Wayside say: - I am a small, independent guy who is a beagle-lover`s dream!- I’m smart and food/treat motivated. - I have displayed some touch sensitivities. Ask our staff for more info!My home needs are: - I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - Wayside recommends bringing your children between 6 and 9 years old out to meet me before adoption since I can be nervous around new people and loud noises. - Wayside recommends you bring your dog to meet me before adoption to ensure we can be buddies. - Wayside recommends researching my breed before adopting.Hello, I’m Cooper! My 3-year-old self is a Beagle-lover’s dream! I’m incredibly sweet, cuddly, affectionate, and gentle, with a huge curiosity streak. Long, sniffy walks are one of my favorite activities. If you wanted to take me on a car ride or tell me that I’m “such a good boy,” I won’t complain!Being a Beagle means that I can be pretty independent, so if I’m not in the mood, I can be a little sensitive to certain types of touch. If there are little humans at home, it’s best for me if they are over 6 years old; this helps avoid any overstimulation. I do really love other dogs. Like I said, I’m independent, so I prefer to initiate contact and play with furry friends. After that, it’s game on!If you are looking for the picture-perfect Beagle with a small body and a huge heart, I’m your boy! Meet me soon, okay? I’ll be your “good boy” furever!Love, Cooper

Story
Truman is a 5.5-year-old Beagle/ Border Collie mix who is loyal, smart, and deeply loving. Since joining our family in Christmas 2021, he has been a steady companion who thrives on connection. He loves walks, car rides, and especially the water. Give him a lake and a stick, and he will happily swim and play fetch. He knows several tricks and absolutely loves kids and other animals. Truman was recently diagnosed with diabetes and needs a consistent routine and attentive care to stay healthy. With our busy work and teenage schedules, we can no longer provide the consistency he deserves. We love him deeply and want to find him a home where he can truly thrive. He will come with his belongings, including two beds, bowls, toys, and the remaining food and medication. If you are looking for a loyal and loving companion, Truman is ready to meet you.
