Story
Meet Nina!! 💕 She came in as a stray on 1/23/26, and we think she is about 10 years old. Nina is the definition of a sweetheart. She has a gentle soul, a curious nature, and a smart little mind that’s always taking everything in. She already knows how to sit and shake, and she’s very proud of her manners. Just look at that sweet face — it’s impossible not to fall in love instantly. Nina would love nothing more than a cozy home, a comfy spot to relax, and someone to adore her as much as she’ll adore them. Nina is available for adoption, so hurry in to meet her — she’s ready to steal your heart. 🐾 Nina is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH 📞 Phone: 419-774-5892 📋 It is an application process. You can request one via dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov

Story
Contact at 330-439-2028 *Ms. Zuma loves to sleep in her spare time; Beware, as she does snore and tends to sleep so deeply that she will have body tremors. She prefers to be under the comforter in bed, but will settle for a seat on the couch close to you, while under a blanket of course. However, if desired she is trained to sleep in a kennel as well. *She’s been caught guarding food so she is used to being fed separate from other animals. *She wants to be a part of everything, rather the nosey neighbor, which has resulted in her getting into altercations with dogs that are dominant and/or Alpha, as they don’t take too kindly to her attempting to correct their behavior. Therefore, she would be best suited as the single dog of a home or with non-dominant/ non-Alpha dogs. *She loves children and has quite a bit of patience, as demonstrated while wearing various costumes. *Can be left alone approximately 6hrs before needing to go potty, unless water is limited, and can wait at least 9hrs

Story
Tragedy has struck one of our adopter families, leaving this deeply bonded mother-daughter pair urgently in need of a new home.In January 2022, sweet Daisy came to us and delivered a litter of puppies in our care. She and one of her babies, Izzy, were adopted togetherand theyve been inseparable ever since. Izzy has always been a mamas girl. This week, their world was turned upside down. The woman who gave them a loving home was tragically killed in a car accident. Her family cant keep the dogs and has asked us to take them back. Now Daisy and Izzy need someone to give them a second chancetogether, if at all possible. Izzy is the perfect girl: Great with kids Good with cats and dogs Loving and easygoing Daisy (the mama) is more sensitive:Shes fearful of strangers and takes time to warm up.She is not aggressive, but has occasionally nipped when scared. She needs a calm, patient home that will let her adjust at her own pace.We know its a hard time for dogs needing homes. But we also know theres someone out there who can offer these girls the stability and love theyve lost. Please consider opening your heart and your home to Izzy and Daisywhether through adoption or foster care. You can apply at ricopetrecovery.org.

Story
This beautiful red girl is Annie. Annie is about 6 months old. She is believed to be a beagle and hound mix. Annie currently weights 22lbs at 6 months and will likely be a medium-sized girl. Annie and her sister Lucy came to Rico care after they were diagnosed with Parvo and their owners surrendered them. Annie is very sweet and loving. She sleeps in her crate quietly at night. Annie is doing great with potty training outside if she is kept on a schedule. She is not quite dry overnight yet, but she is making progress. Annie is great with children and other dogs and she loves people, laps, treats, and toys. Annie is often found sitting on the lap of the first person who claims a spot on the couch. This gorgeous girl would love a family with a yard or an active family that loves outdoors adventures and walks! She is a beagle mix after all and her nose demands good sniffs!!If you love beagles and hounds, apply to meet Annie at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee for Annie is $350. The fee includes vaccines and the spay surgery and a microchip at our partner veterinarian.
