Story
Molly had been waiting in rescue in California since January 4th 2025 - a whopping 538 days! Molly was found as a stray in a rural orchard, pregnant. She gave birth in foster in California and all her puppies left for another rescue while Molly was left behind. When we heard Molly had been waiting so long with no adoption interest, we decided to bring her to Oregon for a better chance at finding a home. Molly is a VERY shy dog. This is likely why she has sat so long in her previous rescue. We can say that Molly has made leaps and bounds in her progress to acclimate to a home. She sleeps in a dog bed at the foot of her foster mom's bed each night, walks on leash, and comes up to her foster mom now to give kisses to her hand. Molly allows her foster mom to pick her up but she flinches if her foster mom pets her. Molly is still getting used to touch. Molly has not shown any aggression. She just freezes or moves away if she is uncomfortable. *** Molly will need a patient, understanding person who is savvy with helping shy dogs gradually build confidence over time. She must have another friendly dog in her future home for companionship as she really follows the lead of other dogs, they help her confidence level and she loves to play with them! *** - 20 pounds and approximately 3 years old - Beagle mix. Just look at those ears! - Lower energy and just now starting to play with the other dogs in her foster home. She's content to nap on a dog bed and hang out. Her foster mom describes Molly as having a calm, peaceful demeanor. - Crate trained but can also be left out of her crate and has not been destructive. - Seeking an adult home since energetic children likely will overwhelm her. - We are not sure how she does with cats but will try to find a cat to test her with. - Loves other dogs and has a nice play style! - Collects all her toys to bring to her bed and make a cute little toy nest. - Quiet and has not been a barker. - Potty habits are still coming along. She has had occasional potty accidents in the home during this first week in foster. But this is her first time living in a home and not outside and she is learning the routine and still adjusting. We truly think her potty habits will get dialed in as she gets more settled in the home. Molly is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our four partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $250 adoption fee Fostered in Milwaukie, Oregon COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
If you’re looking for a wrinkly, cuddly, booty-scratch-loving best friend who will stick by your side and fill your days with sweetness, Butterscotch is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart! Y’all…Butterscotch is sweet as pie and a perfectly squatty, slightly chunky little potato with the most incredible wrinkles you’ve ever seen. Seriously… forehead wrinkles, body wrinkles, all-the-time wrinkles. Add in her beautiful green eyes, adorable little white socks, and her golden glow, and you’ve got a total heart-stealer. But somehow, as cute as she is, her personality might be even better. She's the kind of dog that quietly works her way into your heart until one day you realize she's become your favorite little shadow. Watch Butterscotch Pie's video here to see her belly and booty get all the scratches! https://youtu.be/PvN9G49-kWc?si=FReCLlIEqJAJtLGb Butterscotch is about 3 years old, currently weighs around 55 lbs, and we believe she may be a Beagle/Lab mix. As with any rescue dog, breed is always a bit of a mystery, but one thing we know for sure is that Butterscotch is 100% perfect. Butterscotch is a people girl through and through. She opens up quickly with new friends and absolutely loves being close to her humans. Her foster describes her as a big cuddler who's always nearby, following her around like a little shadow and even sleeping by her head every night. She has such a calm, comforting presence about her that it's easy to forget she's even there... until you look down and realize she's quietly been keeping you company the whole time. And when it comes to affection, this girl is all in. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite activity (she'll dramatically flop right over for them), booty scratches are a close second, and if you happen to have an empty lap, don't be surprised if she decides it's hers. Apparently, Butterscotch never got the memo that she's not actually a lap dog. While she's definitely a cuddle bug, she also enjoys getting outside and enjoying the fresh air. Her foster says they spend hours in the backyard together, where Butterscotch loves wandering around, soaking up the sunshine, and even taking the occasional dip in her little dog pool. Every evening she and a couple of the other foster dogs break out into zoomies together, happily chasing each other around before settling back down for the night. She isn't much of a toy dog, but hand her a good chew stick and she's perfectly content. Just don't be surprised if a squirrel runs by... suddenly this mellow little potato remembers she has some hunting dog mixed in there somewhere. Butterscotch has done wonderfully living with several other dogs of different ages and sizes and enjoys having canine companions around. She’s not the type that is looking for a 24/7 playmate in the home. She’s more looking for a companion that has her cool, calm, collected tempo. Not to say that she never plays because she does, it’s just in short bursts and when she’s feeling spry. Butterscotch would also do just as well soaking up all the attention as your one and only. Cats, however, are a little too exciting for her, so we'd recommend a cat-free home. One thing her foster wanted future adopters to know is that she may need a little time to fully decompress after going home. She took a couple of weeks before really settling into foster care, but once she did, she became the sweetest little shadow dog. We honestly think that makes the bond even more special because when Butterscotch decides you're her person, she's completely devoted. Butterscotch would do well in either a house with a yard or an apartment, although she'd absolutely love having a backyard to explore since being outside is one of her favorite things. Whether she's sunbathing, rolling around in the grass, quietly following you from room to room, or convincing you that one more belly rub is absolutely necessary, she's simply happiest being with her people. If you've been searching for a wrinkly, cuddly, booty-scratch-loving best friend who will happily become your little shadow, Butterscotch is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart. Story
Meet Theo! Theo is the definition of a sweetheart. He is an affectionate, gentle, food-motivated beagle who loves being close to his people. Whether he’s soaking up the sun, curled up for a nap, asking for belly scratches, or happily being held, Theo thrives on love and companionship. He has come so far during his time in foster care, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch his confidence grow. Theo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has been great with kids. He enjoys playing fetch with tennis balls, loves toys that crinkle, and often gets a burst of playful energy after meals, after going potty, and especially around 7:00 p.m. He also loves exploring the world through his nose, taking his time on walks to sniff everything, and investigating bushes, sticks, and leaves along the way. He is nearly fully potty trained with an excellent success rate, as long as he gets one final potty break before bedtime. Theo knows “sit” (especially when treats are involved!) and is beginning to understand “wait” at mealtimes. He eats quickly, so a slow feeder may be helpful. He’s comfortable being handled, does well during baths if the water isn't running, and stays calm, if a little nervous, at the vet. Like many young beagles, Theo is still learning. He enjoys jumping onto furniture, has recently discovered chewing and digging, and is happiest when redirected to an appropriate toy. He is comfortable eating his meals in his crate but doesn’t enjoy being left alone for long and does experience some separation anxiety. He also occasionally reverse sneezes, but responds well to the simple nostril plug technique if needed. Theo is curious about the world around him. He’s interested in cars but still unsure of them, enjoys looking out windows, and rides well in the car, usually alternating between sleeping and quietly taking everything in. He responds to both “Theo” and “Theodore,” with Theodore seeming to be the name he recognizes best, but rapidly learning Theo. Above all else, Theo is an incredibly loyal, loving puppy who simply wants to be part of a family. He has shown us just how much love he has to give, and with a little patience, consistency, and affection, we know he will become an amazing lifelong companion. We feel so lucky to have been part of his journey and can’t wait for him to find the forever home he deserves.
