Story
*Fostered in Tacoma and ready for meet and greets!* How gorgeous is Huck? This sweet, playful boy is confident, smart and would be a perfect family dog! In his foster home Huck loves to play with other dogs, curl up on the couch and run around the backyard. He is potty trained and crate trained. Huck is an active boy and would do best in a home with another dog, or with a family that can commit to daily exercise. He loves hard chew toys, like Nylabones. They will keep him calm and busy for long periods of time, but when he has energy to burn, and his foster siblings won't play with him, he likes to toss the bones around and chase them too (he is good at keeping himself occupied). He also loves squeaky balls. He will chase them, but won't bring them back 🙃 He loves getting his zoomies out in the back yard. He sometimes takes time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he is a sweetheart. He loves his people, big and small. He is great in his crate as long as he has something soft to lay on and something to chew on. He sleeps in it through the night with no issues. He is learning to walk on leash, will pull, but not excessively. He loves roughhousing and playing tug-of-war with his four legged foster siblings. He does not like sharing food and has to be fed separate from the rest of the pack. He isn't an excessive barker. Huck is ready for his forever family and would love to see snow for the first time this holiday season! Take a chance on him! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Story
***Currently fostered in Kirkland, WA and ready for meet and greets!*** This is Spike from the Bindi litter! Do you believe in love at first sight? One look at this guy's big eyes and ear to ear smile, and your heart will melt! Spike is so well-rounded, he will fit perfectly into a variety of homes and settings. He is just as happy sitting in your lap cuddling as he is playing with children and other dogs. He is confident and curious, interacting with dogs his own size and larger. Spike is currently fostered in a home with his 4 siblings, a 40lb dog, and a 70lb dog. His energy level and play style tends to match that of the dog he is with. With proper introductions, there is no doubt Spike will do great in any family unit. Per his foster mom, potty training is going well as is Spike's understanding of phrases like "leave it" and "go to bed". He is very food motivated and with consistency, should adapt to his new home without difficulty. Spike hasn't met a treat he didn't like, although cow ears and soft Milk Bones are at the top of his favorites list. He also likes soft beds, blankets, and squeaker toys. For bath time, he sits in the tub with his foster mom, enjoying the warm water. Outside, he loves to lie around on old chair cushions and soak up the sun. He also is an avid explorer, checking out the bushes and flowers, and chasing any bug or lizard he comes across. Spike's fur is a gorgeous color, and he is even more handsome than pictures can show. He does have shorter legs and is around 22 lbs at 6 months old, so he will need help getting onto taller things like a bed, and he might not be the best hiking partner. We think he’s a cattle dog/pittie mix, but with a rescue it’s always a mystery! Spike will need a patient and loving home where his new family will continue to work on setting healthy boundaries as well as crate and potty training. Are you ready to let this little boy into your heart? Don't wait to grab up this precious boy before someone else does! Story
This delight full little girl is looking to find that forever family she has always dreamed of. Dixie came to the shelter as an owner surrender because she was barking to much. From what we have seen at the shelter if her needs are not being met or she is scared of something she will just let you know. She is your typical little girl hound, she doesn't stop moving but she loves to play with other dogs. She has a very sweet playstyle and will do well in a home with a male companion that is playful, and willing to show her the ropes of what real life is like.Dixie is a little shy when she meets new people but give her about 10-15 minutes and she will be your best friend in no time. Her small size makes her a great dog for that family that is looking for a medium size dog. She is only about 32lbs. From what we can gather she is about 9 months old and has already found her way through 4 homes. Lets make this Dixies last stop where she can find a forever home that is going to be committed to this little girl for her life. She already walks great on a leash. She likes to play a little fetch, but is also happy just running around sniffing like hounds do. We don't know what she is going to be like with cats, but if she is true to her breed she will more than likely want to chase. This little girl isn't going to be a couch potatoe, she is going to need daily exercise both mentally and physically. If you are intersted in meeting Dixie we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an adopiton application. Once you have an application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet her. Please note that Dixie is not going to be a good dog for an apartment. Her adoption fee is $250.00 this will include her being current on all her vaccinations, being treated for fleas, treated for worms, microchipped and spayed. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMay 25, 2023, 6:57 am

Story
So, Gambit is my name, and like my Marvel/ X-Man character- I have a way to create my own destiny- all is within my own power!!! I have had kind of a sad past but my future's so bright! I was saved from a pretty scary place- living alone in a field, next to the gas station where nice people fed me and tried to save me.... Luckily, one of those nice people was persistent AND resourceful and she played her "pawn" to get me into a trap and got me out of that horrible place! I have been living with her and her doggy (and human) family since, but I am really ready for my own family! Look at my video, I am sure cute (only 28#) and super adoptable! There are a few things you need to know about me, I am a happy go lucky boy- as long as you don't get into my face or try to give me kisses. I am protective of my face so an adult only or very knowledgeable older kids in my home is best. I am also kind of a goofball and I love other dogs. I take time to get to know you and get comfortable in my home, so please do not apply to adopt me unless you understand that I will not be your bestest friend immediately- I am most definitely worth the wait :) I have all kinds of love and loyalty to give you, so I hope to meet you soon!!! I am house and crate trained too- see? young dogs CAN learn new tricks :) Local adoption fee is $200 ( in Texas only)

Story
Breed mix? BEAGLE MIX Age? 1 year 6 months Weight? 35 lbs Sex? MALE Good with cats? YES Good with dogs? YES Good with kids? NO SMALL KIDS - he gets very scared of toddlers but is fine with older kids (preteens and older). Potty trained? YES Crate trained? YES Temperament? Calm/happy Ghost is a strong pup, he is a superhero to me, like Superman! Or more like Superdog! He has overcome so many obstacles and might be cautious at first but warms up to be such a love bug. As a puppy, unfortunately, he was terrorized by a group of young kids that spray painted him blue, threw rocks at him, broke his tail, tried to break his neck and threw him around daily. He was saved by a family that found him injured, and he has healed from the physical wounds but has a thickened neck and suffers from Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM) as a result of that trauma. He went through treatment with the rescue and he is now stable, he needs special attention as his jaw might tighten and limit his ability to open his mouth to pick up a toy or chew. He does not have any issues eating but can't chew large treats. He is learning sit and is working on "off" only because he gets so excited to see people that he jumps up to say 'Hi' :) which is REALLY AMAZING because of what happened to him as a baby... He has forgiven and forgotten and now he is ready for a real loving family to give him the life he totally DESERVES. He smiles when you ask him to show his teeth! He has such a unique personality and he has so many names that describe him. So far he has been called Taco Bell, Turkey Taco, Bongo (drums), Twinkie, and Chicken. He loves to roll around on his back and lay down flat in his stomach. His playmates in his foster home are two 80 lbs pups and he holds his own, will back them up in the yard against the squirrels one minute and falls asleep the next minute. His theme song is definitely Puppy Dog Bouncin' In The Box by RxckStxr so if you are looking for a Superdog or a TOTAL ROCK STAR, Ghost is your BOY!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)
