Story
Nova was born on 01/10/2026 from an accidental litter. Her family reached out to Legacy Humane Society for assistance in finding her and her sister new homes. Their Mom has been spayed, and the pups are also spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. Their adoption fee is $325.  Puppies require someone with lots of time and patience to raise them to be the best dogs they can be. They will do well with dogs, cats and kids. Since puppies don't have all of their manners yet, they may be too much for toddlers and very young children. If you're interested in meeting them, please apply online and we'll be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Meet AhSoka (aka Soka) the fun sized powerhouse of joy.If you’re looking for a goofy, athletic, life loving dog who thinks every day is a chance for a new adventure she’s your girl.Soka wakes up ready to live. Walk? Run? Tug of war? Yes, yes, and absolutely yes. She LOVES toys and carries them around like treasured possessions, gently placing them next to her bed like a proud little collector. This girl is big dog energy in the best way. She thrives with confident dogs her own size or larger, but she’d shine brightest as the queen of the castle where she can soak up all the attention. Small dogs tend to misunderstand her enthusiasm, so she’d rather skip that drama. Cats?Soka politely says “No thank you I’ll chase them.”She adores people and is a world class cuddler. After she’s done being your adventure buddy, she’ll curl up on the couch or even put herself to bed when she’s ready for the night. Independent and snuggly is the best combo. She’s house and kennel trained, knows her basics like sit and shake, and she handles bath time like a champ. If you want a loyal partner who will make you laugh every single day Soka is waiting to run, play, and love her way into your heart.

Story
Bear is a big lover boy who is rather lazy. He’s regal, loyal and a good listener. He loves to be close to his people and is ALWAYS up for snuggling. He doesn’t do any tricks but he listens when directed. We’re relocating our family from a large oversized house with a yard in Texas to be closer to family in Florida with a much smaller house. Bear can be a bit standoffish when new people, especially large males, but quickly he becomes your best friend and will sit on your foot, or even the couch next to you, lol! (See pic). He’s a sweet boy and we love him very much but we can’t relocate with him so we really home to find a great home for him!

Story
Duchess was in a small, high-kill shelter when we came across her information. Her eyes were so infected that she could not open them, and the shelter had posted her as being blind. Our vet discovered that Duchess doesn’t produce tears, and the chronic dry eye had been untreated for so long that her corneas were damaged and infected. This sweet girl was initially so shut down that she had to remind herself what a special dog she is. We are trying our best to save her eyes; she gets two types of medicated drops twice a day and artificial tears as often as possible. She has learned to let her foster clean her eyes and is good about getting her drops. She is now able to see, although not as well as we hope she will as we progress. She will need eye drops ongoing. Duchess now plays with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys running around her yard. Her very favorite thing is getting attention and spending time with her humans. She wants to devote herself entirely to her family and take care of them. This girl is a wonderful Doberman and an ambassador for the breed. She is house trained, can use a doggie door, or ask to go outside if she doesn't have one. She is fine being left home alone or with her canine friends, but would rather go wherever her human is going. She’s great at going for rides and would be the perfect travel companion. Duchess is fully vetted, current with vaccines, spayed, on flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.

(My foster momma has cats and dogs in the house and I love playing with them) I am working on crate training. I love all humans!! I love belly rubs and pets. I am a pretty confident when it comes to play time and running around the house. I am a very smart puppy. Puppies are playful, Puppies are active, and loving. Story
You’ll never forget the look in their eyes when they realize they’re home.  When they start to trust you.  When they sleep soundly, knowing they’re safe.  Adoption isn’t just a good deed — it’s a miracle disguised as a second chance.  It’s proof that compassion still wins, that love can heal what was broken, and that we can make this world a softer, kinder, better place.  The benefit no one tells you about adopting.  You walk away saved too. Meet Baby!  She keeps watching other dogs go home… and wondering when it will be her turn. How is a dog this gentle still waiting? For four weeks, Baby has had  - zero applications —  and we honestly don’t understand why. She's one of our Diamond Dogs and has a reduced adoption fee of $125, which is great since she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention!  Baby is 5 years old — the perfect age. Past the puppy chaos, fully trained, and ready to simply be  yours.  She’s a Pit Bull / Boxer mix with soft white fur, warm brown ears, and a freckled belly that feels like it was sprinkled there just to make you smile. But what makes Baby unforgettable isn’t her appearance. It’s her heart. Early in foster care, Baby experienced something no dog should — she was attacked in a home that was supposed to be safe. And yet… she didn’t become reactive. She didn’t grow hardened. She didn’t stop trusting. She healed. She forgave. She remained gentle. Dog-friendly. Loving. Hopeful. Every single day, she still chooses love. What Life with Baby Looks Like Tennis Ball Queen –  Give her a ball, and she’ll fetch it endlessly, tail wagging, eyes sparkling, hoping for just one more throw. ️ Cuddle Bug –  After playtime, she melts into the couch beside you, content just to be near her person. Car Co-Pilot –  Calm, happy, and ready to join you on any adventure. Well-Mannered & Loving –  House-trained, crate-trained, walks beautifully on leash, knows sit and shake (both paws!), kid-friendly, and dog & cat-friendly. She’s not high-maintenance or complicated — she’s simply ready to love and be loved. Baby’s Details: • 5 years old • Pit Bull / Boxer mix • Spayed, microchipped • Up to date on vaccines • Heartworm negative • Adoption fee: $275 (covers spay, vaccines, dewormer, first heartworm prevention dose & microchip) Baby has done everything right. She survived hardship. She forgave. She learned. She loves. Now she just needs someone  to choose her. Could that someone be you? Don’t let her wait any longer. Apply at: legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application Her foster mom is ready to finally say, “You’re  going home. ”     We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
