Story
Nova was born on 01/10/2026 from an accidental litter. Her family reached out to Legacy Humane Society for assistance in finding her and her sister new homes. Their Mom has been spayed, and the pups are also spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. Their adoption fee is $325. Nova knows how to sit and shake on command. She loves belly rubs, playing fetch and eating watermelon.  Puppies require someone with lots of time and patience to raise them to be the best dogs they can be. They will do well with dogs, cats and kids. Since puppies don't have all of their manners yet, they may be too much for toddlers and very young children. If you're interested in meeting them, please apply online and we'll be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Story
Meet Maria! Maria is a beautiful 4-year-old Rottweiler with a remarkable story of resilience, strength, and second chances. Weighing approximately 80 pounds, Maria's journey hasn't always been easy. In March, she was found as a stray with serious injuries, likely after being struck by a vehicle. She was taken to a city shelter where she received surgery to repair a broken femur. Through it all, Maria remained calm, gentle, and incredibly brave. Today, she has fully recovered and is enjoying life in foster care while she patiently waits for the forever family she deserves. Maria is a well-mannered girl who is both house and crate trained. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night, walks beautifully on a leash, and takes treats with the gentlest touch. She is not a frequent barker but will alert you when someone arrives at the house. While Maria is affectionate and loving once she feels safe, she is naturally cautious and slow to warm up to new people. She will thrive with a patient family willing to give her time and space to build trust at her own pace. Once that bond is formed, Maria's loyal and devoted personality truly shines. Maria would do best in a calm home with children 16 years of age or older who can respect her boundaries and understand her need for gradual introductions. She can be happy as an only dog, but she would also enjoy a canine companion her size or larger. Maria has a bit of an alpha personality, so proper introductions and confident leadership are important. Because of her size and play style, she is not a good fit for homes with small dogs. A family that works from home or spends a lot of time around the house would be ideal, as Maria enjoys companionship and being included in daily life. She does have one amusing quirk—she's a bit of a counter surfer—so keeping snacks out of reach is highly recommended! Maria also cannot be left alone unsupervised. She must be crated. Maria is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Despite the challenges she has faced, she continues to show an incredible capacity for love and trust. If you're looking for a loyal companion and are willing to give a deserving dog the time she needs to settle in, Maria may be the perfect addition to your family. If you are interested in meeting Maria, please complete an adoption application through Legacy Humane Society. All of our dogs live in foster homes while they wait for their forever families, allowing us to learn more about their personalities and help find the best possible match. Maria has overcome so much and is ready for a family that will love her forever. Could that family be yours? Please apply online if you're interested in meeting her. Her adoption fee is $275. Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Story
This beautiful girl came into our lives after being brought here and left behind. We have loved having her, but she is growing bigger and we are sadly no longer able to keep her. She is such a sweet soul with so much love to give. 🥹 She has lots of energy, loves to play, and her favorite thing is being close to her people. Because she was a rescue, she can be a little shy and timid at first — but once she trusts you, she is a loving, loyal companion. She doesn’t need a perfect home… she just needs someone who will be patient, show her love, and give her the safe place she deserves. ❤️ Please help us find the family she’s been waiting for. If you or someone you know may be interested, please message me. Even sharing this post could help her find her forever home. 🐶💕

Story
**THIS IS A COURTESY POST WITH THE RICHARDSON HUMANE SOCIETY** My name is Cleo.  I'm looking for my forever home, the one that was always meant for me. If you're searching for a dog who's equal parts cuddle bug and loyal best friend, I just might be your girl. My favorite thing in the world is being close to my people. I'll happily curl up beside you for movie nights , follow you around the house, and soak up every bit of love you're willing to give. I'm also a pretty quiet gal and rarely bark. I absolutely adore people and would do wonderfully with kids. My dream home has a grassy backyard where I can stretch my legs, sniff all the interesting smells, and then head back inside for my favorite activity: snuggling with my humans. I also have a funny little hobby. I take my job as household fly catcher very seriously. If a fly sneaks into the house, consider it officially on my watch. My ideal home is one where I can be your one and only dog. Other pups just aren't my thing, but people absolutely are, and I have more than enough love to fill an entire home. I've already spent a long time waiting for my forever family, and I know they're out there somewhere. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who will happily share your couch , greet you with unconditional love , patrol the house for rogue flies , and become your faithful little shadow , I hope you'll come meet me. Maybe my happily ever after starts with you. ***Cleo lives in Richardson, TX.  When you fill out an application, we'll reach out to see if she's a good fit, if she is, introductions will be arranged. *** We do not know Cleo's breed mix, what was selected is our best guess based on her very good looks.   ##2779645##

Story
Duchess was in a small, high-kill shelter when we came across her information. Her eyes were so infected that she could not open them, and the shelter had posted her as being blind. Our vet discovered that Duchess doesn’t produce tears, and the chronic dry eye had been untreated for so long that her corneas were damaged and infected. This sweet girl was initially so shut down that she had to remind herself what a special dog she is. We are trying our best to save her eyes; she gets two types of medicated drops twice a day and artificial tears as often as possible. She has learned to let her foster clean her eyes and is good about getting her drops. She is now able to see, although not as well as we hope she will as we progress. She will need eye drops ongoing. Duchess now plays with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys running around her yard. Her very favorite thing is getting attention and spending time with her humans. She wants to devote herself entirely to her family and take care of them. This girl is a wonderful Doberman and an ambassador for the breed. She is house trained, can use a doggie door, or ask to go outside if she doesn't have one. She is fine being left home alone or with her canine friends, but would rather go wherever her human is going. She’s great at going for rides and would be the perfect travel companion. Duchess is fully vetted, current with vaccines, spayed, on flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.

Logan – Boxer Mix Logan is a handsome male Boxer mix with a sweet heart and a lot of love to give. Born July 8, 2020, Logan weighs about 72 pounds and has been part of his current family since he was adopted from a dog rescue in Georgia in 2020. He is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his rabies and DHPPC vaccines. Logan is good with dogs and children, making him a wonderful fit for a family looking for a loyal companion. He is housebroken and well mannered. He is also current on heartworm prevention and has been heartworm tested - which was negative.  His current family loves him and wants the very best for him, but they feel they no longer have the time or space to give him the home life he deserves. Logan spends much of his time alone, and they want him to have the chance to be with a family who will truly make him part of their everyday life. Logan is described as a great dog who deserves a great family. He is ready for a fresh start with someone who will give him the love, attention, and healthy home environment he needs. Story
Five years ago, I adopted my Doberman, and he quickly became so much more than a dog—he became family. He has been my protector, my companion, and a constant source of loyalty and love through so many seasons of life. Making this decision has been incredibly hard, but due to relocation and the demands of work, I can no longer give him the time and consistency he deserves. This decision comes from love. I want him to have a home where he can thrive—one with space, structure, and someone who understands and appreciates this breed. My priority is finding him the right home with someone who will love and care for him the way he deserves.
