Story
Gracie is a 2 1/2 year-old, 50lbs Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her smile! Originally adopted from Collin County Animal Shelter, she has blossomed into a sweet, loving, and playful companion who’s ready to find her forever family. Gracie is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. She even graduated from training through Dog Training Elite—she knows sit, down, paw, come, and go to bed (kennel). She’s still working on her leash manners but is eager to please and treat-motivated, so continued training will be a fun way to bond with her. This girl has a playful side too—she LOVES tennis balls, cuddles on the couch, and watching squirrels from the window (she could do it for hours!). With her high prey drive, she would thrive in a home with no cats or small animals. Gracie would do best as the only pet - she can coexist around other dogs but seems to prefer being an only pet in her home space. She absolutely adores people, including children, and will make a wonderful family dog.  If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and fun companion, Gracie is ready to be your best friend. Story
Cash came to the rescue when the shelter sent him to have his fractured leg amputated at our vet clinic. He had been shot, and we have no idea of the other abuse he had suffered, but he is initially afraid of new men (fine once he learns they mean him no harm). While he is not an aggressive boy, he acts as if he could tear into someone, which can be off-putting. He is fine with women, loving, outgoing, and cuddly, especially with his foster mom. We are helping him work onhis fear, which can/will be resolved with patience and TLC.Cash lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone, large and small. He is playful and happy, can be as gentle or rough as needed, depending on who he is playing with. He walks fine on a leash and is good at going for rides when he gets a chance. He is crate trained and asks to go out if needed between potty breaks. He generally has good house manners, except when he counter-surfs for food when the opportunity presents itself.Cash is fully vetted, current with vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention.

Story
DOB: 11/1/23 Weight: 70 lbs Meet Wendy, a playful one-year-old German Shepherd/Collie mix who is ready to find her forever family! At 70 pounds, Wendy is the perfect combination of playful energy and loyal companionship. She loves chasing balls, chewing on bones, playing with her favorite toy Allie the stuffed alligator, and taking walks and car rides (with her head out the window of course!) to wherever adventure awaits. Wendy can even catch treats! She loves to spend time using her nose to explore her environment. We discovered at a recent adoption event that she seems to have a “thing” for low rider dogs.  Wendy was rescued as a stray and has blossomed into a sweet and sociable dog who adores playing with other dogs her size. Her friendly nature makes her a wonderful companion, but she can sometimes forget how big she is. This family best suited to share in her playful enthusiasm is one without young children. Wendy is microchipped for safety, so you can have peace of mind knowing she’s always protected. This smart girl is leash-trained, crate-trained, and fully housebroken—meaning she’s ready to integrate into family life. She knows a few commands, like "bed," "crate," and "come" with a hand signal.   She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $125.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy.
