Story
Where are our adopters who love K9 agility courses?! How about adopters who love super athletic dogs?! Or adopters who want a dog who can join them on all their adventures?! If you are "that" adopter we are looking for, allow us to introduce you to Moxie. She is about nine months old, weighs a little over 40 pounds and is extremely eager-to-please. Moxie is very treat-motivated and highly intelligent. Moxie loves to work for praise and food; with the right person, there isn't anything this girl couldn't learn. Another awesome thing about Moxie is that she loves to work but she also loves affection and wants love. If you offer to pet her, she will come up for a nice lil' belly rollover and just lie at your feet. We think kiddos in her home should be about 8ish and older. Moxie didn't seem to care much about kitty friends either way and was redirectable with yummy treats. She'd be happiest if she could be the only dog in the home. We are so excited to see what Moxie accomplishes and where she ends up going. This is a dog you could take hiking, running, exploring, etc. There are limitless opportunities if you adopt Moxie. She's one special girl! She is spayed so come adopt Moxie!

Story
I am tentatively looking for a home for Taz. I am just not able physically able to care for him anymore. It is not a decision I have taken lightly. I truly love this dog, but I have to think about what is best for us both. Taz is a fully trained medical alert service dog. He has extensive training but we were still working on a few things. 2 Years Old (September 22nd Birthday) Half Belgian Malinois/Half Rottweiler Crate Trained AKC Good Citizenship Certified Up to date on shots (Rabies due in May) Neutered Loves to work and play. Needs a fenced in yard. Very loving and amazing with kids. Food motivated and easy to train but can be stubborn. Loves to play outside, hike. Car Trained and travels very well. Has the double coat of a Malinois so needs brushed more often. Doesn’t like his feet or tail touched but we have been working on that. He is the BEST dog and deserves the best home.

Story
Roo is a Malinois x German Shepard cross. She was previously a found as a stray and was not in the best condition. I adopted her with the intent to train her and find her a forever home. I have had her for a little over a year. She is a wonderful dog!! She is crate trained and knows basic obedience commands. She is good with other male dogs but is selective. She is slow to trust others and bonds strongly with one person. She has a terrific off switch and loves sitting next to you on the couch and relaxing. Once you gain her trust she is an absolute love bug :) She is protective of her person so she will only go to home with an experienced handler.

Story
DeAnn is a large-size 8-year-old Belgian Malinois mix who weighs 65 pounds. DeAnn is quite the independent and reserved older lady. She's looking for a quiet, laid-back home environment to spend her golden years! DeAnn is super smart and food-motivated, she has great manners and walks nicely on a leash with you. She has an affectionate side once she's comfortable and trusts you! At this time, DeAnn will require to be an only pet, as she prefers to be the queen of the castle in her new home. She was tested for heartworms and Lyme and was negative for both. DeAnn will be spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated before leaving for her forever home.

Story
Meet Opie!! Meet Opie! He was an owner who surrendered to a local shelter and needed rescue only because the stress of the shelter got to him. Opie is 4 yrs-old GS Malinois Dutch shepherd mix. Sadly he's lived a very confined neglected isolated sheltered life. In other words, he had lazy 💩 owners. As of 11/4, Opie is a sweet, gentle giant but reserved and timid. We have learned that allowing him to approach you on his time is best. 12/22 He loves his people once his trust is gained. Which takes 0 time and effort on the human part. 2/10 Everyone he has meets he has done awesome with. He is willing to try but does needs encouragement. He strives for guidance and needs consistency, routine, and simple daily exercise as well as structured discipline. He is a simple dog always wanting to please. But his confidence cannot be rushed instead when meeting any new folks he needs people to ignore him as if he's not present, do not approach, touch, talk to him or make eye contact and this alone makes meeting anyone easy and possible. 2/17 Opie thrives with companionship and desires physical and verbal acknowledgment from his people. He wants to belong and be part of his people every day life. No reactivity toward cats, or dogs, nor does he have any resource-guarding behaviors. He however is a follower and he needs constant guidance. Opie is good on a leash, still needs work but it's manageable. Very food and praise/affection motivated. 1/22 Opie is currently ongoing heartworm treatment and doing well. Opie is a dog that requires more than basic dog knowledge. He needs leadership and guidance and someone confident and in control at all times. To be continued: Opie is house and crate trained, neuteted, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, corona, 3-year rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Opie like every AHS dog comes with our lifetime support. Updated: 2/26/2023 We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.
