Story
~DOB: 4/1/2021 Weight: 65 Pounds Energy level: Low - Moderate Overall drive: Low Location: Gilbert, AZ Jordan will single-handedly make sure you are never lonely again! This fella is going to be your second shadow #MyJobNowPeterPan. It does not matter where you go or what you do, he will always be there. Snuggling on the couch, lying at your feet, following you from room to room, just turn around, and he will be there. If Jordan were a human, he would make a living as a massage therapist, as he just wants to touch you all over all the time. #NotCreepyJustLoving Or he could be a bodyguard, but not a hands-on fight people off one, just one that escorts you everywhere you go. This guy would rather interact with his human more than a toy, but he will engage in play time via tug or fetch. Even though he is thought to be around 5yrs old and he has some sugaring on his muzzle; he still plays with toys and acts like a goofy puppy from time to time. One of his favorite play activities is “keep away” much like every other Malinois #MyToyLookButDontTouchButPleaseThrowForMe. During car rides, Jordan enjoys them and usually falls asleep depending on the length of the ride. He was pretty nervous during his vet’s office visit but held still with his foster’s guidance during his exams. He has zero reactions to loud noises such as thunder. One thing he loves is a good walk in the park; during his walks, he has ignored other dogs, birds, and ducks, but bunnies, bikes, and skateboards definitely spark some interest. His foster says that one of the things that Jordan does that makes them laugh is that he plays with his toys while lying on his back and holding them between his paws. Since Jordan has been in foster care, he has mastered some skills such as snuggling and playing with other dogs. #NotMuchButHonestWork Some additional commands and skills he is working on are Sit, Come, Wait, Down, and Drop it. He is crate trained but does not settle quickly; sometimes he spins and barks, but the progress to quell this has been great as of lately. Jordan is not destructive in the house and has decent manners to show as well; he is improving on his confidence around strangers. The biggest thing he needs some work on is not pulling on the leash during walks, but a slight correction goes a long way with Jordan as he is sensitive to correction. Jordan is looking for his forever home that could range from calm to busy; a home without a lot of strangers visiting is probably best until his confidence improves. He does love playing with other dogs, so another playmate would be nice but not required; also, he would probably do well with older kids in the home. Since he does not have a lot of drive, there might not be any dog sports he would be interested in, but he would probably try them all once if you wanted. So, if you are looking for a sugar-snouted best friend, look no further than Jordan!

Story
~ DOB: 1/1/2024 Weight: 60 Pounds Energy level: Low - Moderate Overall drive: Moderate Location: Crestline, CA Moxie is a sweet and loving girl who just wants to be close to her person. She is a carbon copy of matching energy with her human; you want to act goofy, she will be right there with you; want to just chill on the couch and watch a movie, she is down for that as well. But she really enjoys going on walks; it might be one of her favorite things in the whole wide world. #TouchGrass If Moxie were a human and was forced to pay bills with a human job, her foster thinks that she would make a great camp counselor or hiking guide. During a recent visit from her foster's friends, everyone went on a hike, and Moxie took it upon herself to make sure everyone stuck together on the hike and not a single soul got left behind! After they got home, she would go to each person individually to check on them to make sure they had fun and were doing ok, much like a camp counselor would. When Moxie left the shelter, she was very scared and shut down, but since then, she has grown in confidence and has become an affectionate, cuddly lady. Moxie loves riding in the car! She jumps right in with zero issues and loves sitting next to the window watching the world zoom past. One of the things her foster is working on is for her to wait and respect physical boundaries (not jumping out of the car when the door opens). For her safety, she rides leash-tied in the car. During her trip to the vet’s office, she was pretty anxious but took reassurance from her foster that the vet’s office is not an evil place like she thought it was. Another way she has grown since showing up in foster care is that she is not as skittish around loud noises as she was in the beginning. Some of the things that Moxie does that make her foster laugh are her zoomies, the silly faces she makes when she wants to play, and the random drive-by lickings that she will do. #ItIsMineILickedIt During Moxie’s time in foster, she has mastered Sit, Down, Paw (both of them), Wait, Come, Leave it, and Up (get in car) commands. Some other commands she is working overtime on mastering are Heel, Stay, her recall, and manners around other dogs. Additionally, she is working on crate training as well (slow process but getting there). During training time, she is motivated by praise and food, not much she doesn’t do for either of those. She has only been destructive in the house once, and that was the untimely destruction of curtains that she was able to grab in her crate. #Oopsie She is kind of a diamond in the rough, as she will need continued training to help he become the best dog ever; her foster is working diligently on not jumping manners, and setting up the best foundation for her forever home to build upon. Moxie is looking for her forever home with someone or a family that would spend a lot of time with her, possibly works from home or something similar. She could be great around older kids and calm, non-pushy other dogs as well. Overall, she just wants to be your best friend to hang out with, sleep in the same room, go on hikes, have slow morning coffee, and train to be everything you have been missing in your life. #SheIsJustALoverGirl

Story
~DOB: 12/1/2023 Weight: 49.5lbs Energy level: moderate – high Overall drive: moderate – high Location: Tacoma, WA Meet Paris! If Paris were human, she’d absolutely be a fitness coach; the kind who lovingly tells you, “Come on, we’re not done yet!” Paris is a sweet, affectionate, high-energy Malinois who loves her people BIG. She’s smart, curious, food-motivated, and happiest when her brain and body have a job to do. Her favorite activities include scent games, training, bike rides, outdoor adventures, and zooming around the backyard in gloriously ridiculous circles. She’s fully house-trained and crate-trained and knows sit and place, with down, come, and heel coming along nicely. She thrives on structure and positive reinforcement and has made great progress with barking and settling. Paris can be a little cautious in busy environments and is still building confidence around higher-distraction settings. She does well on walks and bike rides and has lived around other dogs with structure and supervision. She may enjoy a playful, well-matched canine companion, but she is not looking for a chaotic free-for-all household. Her dream home is active, calm, structured, and experienced with Malinois; or dedicated and ready to learn. Older, dog-savvy kids may be a good fit. Paris isn’t a couch potato. She wants adventures, training, scent work, balanced physical & mental exercise, and a human who wants to build an incredible partnership with her. In return, she’ll give you loyalty, affection, enthusiasm, and a whole lot of heart.

Story
Meet Piper – Your Loyal, Playful Companion! Piper is a 65-pound sweetheart living in Portland, OR, and born ~10/1/2023. With a calm, playful personality and a heart full of love, she’s happiest when she’s near her people—with a toy in her mouth and a smile on her face. She’s affectionate, confident, and friendly with people and can be neutral to social towards animals when properly introduced. Piper does great with cats, most dogs, and even livestock (though chickens may need supervision). She loves playing with familiar dog friends, and while she’s still learning how to manage her excitement on leash, she’s making great progress. Strange dogs can cause some leash reactivity to resurface. Piper is house-trained, not destructive, and enjoys car rides, swimming, and outdoor adventures. She’s food-motivated, knows basic commands, and is working on her leash manners. She gives the best welcome-home hugs—standing on her back legs to nuzzle your face like she missed you all day. Her ideal home? A calm environment with someone home most of the time, maybe with another dog and room to roam. She’d thrive with an outdoorsy person or couple who’ll take her hiking or swimming. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key adventure buddy with a heart of gold, Piper is ready to be your new best friend.

Story
~DOB: 12/1/2020 Weight: 55 lbs Energy level: Moderate Overall drive: Moderate Location: San Jose, CA Meet Chex, the dog who believes every problem in life can be solved with…you guessed it…a ball! Chex has survived more than any dog should ever have to. He’s been shot, attacked, abandoned, and spent months waiting in a shelter before finally getting the medical care he deserved. Through it all, he never lost his kind heart, his goofy spirit, or his unwavering belief that people are worth loving. His favorite hobby? Following you around with a ball in his mouth, politely dropping it at your feet, and waiting. Ignore him? He’ll move it somewhere impossible to miss. Still busy? You’ll get one very polite “woof.” It’s impossible not to laugh and love every minute of it. Chex is house-trained, crate-trained, respectful in the home, rides beautifully in the car, does great at the vet, and isn’t bothered by loud noises. He’s smart, eager to learn, and already knows commands like sit, go home, game over, speak, and go get. He’s happiest when he has a job, whether that’s playing fetch, learning new skills, or simply being your loyal sidekick. Chex would thrive with an experienced, active family who appreciates a dog with some energy, drive and a sense of humor. Older, dog-savvy kids would likely be the best fit. Daily exercise, continued training, and plenty of ball time are all he asks. After everything he’s endured, Chex isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for someone who won’t give up on him. And maybe…someone willing to retrieve the occasional ball from under the couch.
