He came to us around 9 months old, and has been waiting for a foster or forever home with us for 4 years. He has done great with other dogs in our care on walks, and during meets, and group socializing. **Petal is currently being fostered in HOUSTON TX but is available for adoption out of state via rescue transport, no added fees. All adopters are offered video chat to meet the dogs face to face PRIOR to committing to adoption. We accept returns on all of our animals at little to no cost depending on your location** Petal is a sweet, gentle young dog whose confidence has grown tremendously since coming into foster care. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she is affectionate and loves neck scratches. She knows basic commands, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys spending time with both people and other dogs. One of her favorite things is being around puppies. She has been wonderful with the foster puppies in my care and seems to genuinely enjoy their companionship and playful energy. Before I took her in, she had been living outside in the neighborhood. I don't know how she does with cats, but I never observed her chasing them while she was outside. As she's settled into foster care, she's become more confident and has recently found her voice a little, but she's generally a calm dog. She's somewhat independent while still enjoying being part of the family and participating in whatever everyone else is doing. Although she's grown some since I first took her in, she hasn't grown as much as I would have expected for a typical German Shepherd mix and appears likely to remain a medium-sized dog. Petal would do well with someone who will continue building her confidence while appreciating her gentle nature. She has been a joy to foster and deserves a loving home where she can continue to thrive. The last picture shows where she was found on the streets.
