Kira is the perfect lap dog even though she may not fit completely on your lap! She's amazingly affectionate. She doesn't bark at other dogs but prefers to be an only dog. She is playful and fetch is her favorite game! She walks well on a leash and knows commands (sit, stay, paw, and retrieve). She is a well-behaved dog and crate trained. She is located in Texas, and we have transports available every few weeks. She is currently in a loving foster home. If you feel like Kira would be a good addition to your family unit, please contact us cherisheartanimalrescue@yahoo.com or give us a call at 210-334-7771 and leave a message and we will respond within 24 hours. We look forward in hearing from you! We are a 501c3 nonprofit rescue and your adoption fee is tax deductible. We can provide references if desired from other happy adopters.

Story
▶ (relationship with dogs) : She always likes gettins along with dog friends. In particular she is really active when playing with dog that she likes. If the dog express unpleasant reaction she stays away from him/her immediately and never fight with them at all. ▶ (relationship with cats) : Never violent to cat and no interest ▶ (relationship with people) : ▶ (house trained) : Well trained for inside/outside house ▶ (walks on leash) : She pulls on the leash a bit until she finishes defecating. But it is controllable and she gets to normal walking after defecating. ▶ (special notes) : She has a good manner when meeting up with small dogs such as sitting down, no barking.

Story
Hi! My name is Dusty and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by my previous owner on 6/14/23. I lived in a home with another large dog. I weigh 47 lbs and am considered a `medium breed` dog.I am very shy at first but once I feel comfortable around you I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home!I am full of energy and I love to play! I will need a home that can dedicate time to training! I have so much to learn and am very smart - engaging brain games, long walks and games of fetch will be crucial to helping me become a social and well manner companion. Because of my shy nature, I would do best in a calm, quiet home.I am an older puppy!! I will need to find a home where someone is available for me in these early days. It is important to be consistent with me and socialize me so I can have the best companionship with people and other animals. Puppies require patience because everything is brand new so I will need some TLC while I learn. I am not potty trained or crate training yet and teaching me those skills will help tremendously on a road to success! If you and your family are ready to fall in love my awesome self, please check me out!!My personality color is BLUE. I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!

Story
*** MUST HAVE POWER BREED EXPERIENCE*** *** MUST HAVE FENCED YARD ***   NAME: GERARD WAY LITTER: GERARD is part of the "MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE" litter  AGE/GENDER: Born 8/05/2022, Male BREED: BELGIAN SHEPHERD MALINOIS TEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievous, headstrong, protective, territorial WEIGHT: 50ish lbs and growing HOUSE TRAINING: He's working on it still and doing great, but he can get a little excited.  CRATE TRAINING: Good, he is crate trained. OTHER DOGS: Good. He will need continued socialization. He has a dominant-type personality. He lives with dogs of all ages and sizes. CATS: No cats as he has a strong prey drive. CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 12 and older - he is a maligator after all ADOPTION DONATION: $600 HEALTH: GERARD is doing well, but he came to us as a puppy who could not walk and was hospitalized for pyothorax as a young puppy. He has stunted growth and may not have the endurance of a typical healthy Malinois. He is altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. HISTORY: Gerard Way came from a backyard breeder in Yakima. He was unable to walk when he originally came to us. We worked with him and got him stronger and able to walk only to have tragedy strike as he succumbed to a lung infection. After emergent care and surgery, where it was touch and go, our miracle Malinois defied the odds.  NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: GERARD WAY is a Malinois, which is a working breed of dog. These dogs need to be worked, mentally. They need a job. They are not a dog for a first-time dog owner. You cannot compare Malinois to a German Shepherd. Gerard requires an adopter with power breed experience. Someone who has worked with and trained power breed dogs. He would appreciate another dog playmate in the home. Gerard, while sometimes naughty, loves to train and will need an adopter who has training experience and someone who enjoys training and working with their dog. Gerard is a typical Maligator and is very mouthy, which is why he needs a home with older children. He is not a protection dog, as he is highly socialized to people due to his lengthy hospitalization and frequent vet care. Gerard is a lover and while he can be pushy he is dog and people social.   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo CrewDecember 8, 2023, 2:09 pm

Story
Hey there, I'm Alice!I am ready to meet my new family. I am super smart and a strong-willed dog who needs someone who has experience working with a dog like me. I form strong bonds with my humans and can be protective of the family. I am ok with other dogs, but really, I would love to be the only dog in the house. Then I wouldn't need to share my toys and I would get all the attention you can give me. I am strong, agile and would thrive with a family who is active so we could go hiking and running and take long walks together. I haven't spent any time around young children but if you have older kids who like to play fetch, that would be my dream. I learn quickly and know all my basic commands. I am fully house-trained and crate trained too. I love to get treats and praise when I do something right. I am still learning so if you are willing to work with me I will love you forever. If you think we might be a good match then just fill out the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Just ask for Alice To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. There you will see any videos, more photos and details.

Story
Maple's foster parent reports she's a goofy pup with a lot of love to give. She can be a bit clumsy and is still growing into her paws! She can be an absolute couch potato at times, but also loves to spend time playing and going on walks. She also LOVES belly rubs and rolling around in the grass. On walks she loves to keep something in her mouth - i.e. tennis ball, stuffie - at all times. She even has a hard time letting go for treats! She gets excited about birds and squirrels and has had no problem living with a cat. This dream dog isn't bothered by the sounds of city life and would do well in a busy urban neighborhood!Maple is house-trained and crate-trained, and knows "sit" and "shake". She will bond very strongly with her special person. Typically pretty quiet, she barks only occasionally at the rare passing dog. She falls asleep in her crate after a kong full of peanut butter and sleeps quietly through the night afterward. Come meet your new best friend!Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. Story
HI - I'M SCARLET! I'm a lovely, sweet, and very active 8-year-old Belgian Malinois currently in a foster home in Northern Oregon! Previously, per the shelter that housed me, I came from a hoarding situation in California. I'm an affectionate girl, with plenty of energy for walk, hikes and other outings. I will be your best friend and co-pilot, as I love spending time with my people. I do have strong protective and territorial instincts, and will protect you from an intruder. I'm extremely intelligent and I learn quickly at your command. Even though I'm only 55 pounds, I am strong, and need a strong owner. I am easily distracted on a walk, but I'm gentle, too. I do not do well with cats and have a prey drive. Belgian Malinois dogs can have a long lifespan if taken care of properly, so don't let my 8 years scare you. I don't act like an 8-year-old dog at all, and in fact, I'm ready to go for a long hike! I may be younger, too, as my age is a shelter estimate. I'm also a bit of an escape artist, but that's because I'm so smart. So please don't leave me out in the backyard for hours on end as I could figure out a way to get out. I will do fine if left in a utility room - I do not have accidents in there nor am I destructive. All in all I'm a wonderful dog who needs a wonderful, experienced, loving owner. Can you adopt me?

Story
Meet Jon Snow! If dogs are man's best friend, Jon Snow is no exception! This sweet, playful 2 year old boy is smart, loyal, eager to please, and loves all the attention he can get. He loves to play but can also be calm and laidback, making him a perfect fit as a canine companion in a house or an apartment. He has been around other dogs but in a perfect world, he would be an only child so he can have all the affection and belly rubs to himself. He bonded quickly with his foster mom and quickly learned to come, lay down, and to follow correcting cues in just a couple short days, not to mention he is also fully potty and crate trained. He is highly food motivated which makes him very trainable. He does not chew, bark, or exhibit any destructive behaviors or resource guarding. Jon Snow's ideal day would include walks, car rides, belly rubs, and lots of treats! He truly just wants somebody to love, and to love on him. Jon Snow came to Saving Hope from the Rio Grande Valley with a horrible skin condition. After medication, proper nutrition, and love he has made a beautiful recovery and shown his resilience and zest for life.
