Story
Lovely Shirley is a whirlwind. Exuberant, healthy, and friendly, she is full of enthusiasm for all that an ACTIVE, LOVING HOME WITH WORKING-DOG EXPERIENCE might offer. This ~2-year-old, ~55-pound, spayed and vaccinated beauty might do well in dog sports or activities requiring energy, drive, speed, and agility. Good for a hiker or runner. While her energy is high, Shirley has a sweet, soft side. Crates well at night and would love to sleep by your side. Still a puppy, she is under-attended in the back yard of her elderly foster, who is too frail to exercise her and can't bring her inside other than to sleep in a crate. We don’t know whether she’d get along with all dogs, but she's good with friendly dogs and loves to play. Good with cats. Likes little dogs but currently is too rambunctious for them. Same for kids. Fetches. Amenable to training by experienced person. Treat-driven. Doesn't guard resources or bite. Not escape artist; just wants to BE WITH HER PERSON and be ACTIVE.

Story
KAYCE NEEDS A RUNNING PARTNER Kayce needs a forever home. In the last few months he has lived in a boarding facility while waiting for his forever person to find him. Before that, for almost 2yrs he has been moved around in boarding, rescue and foster homes. He’s a wonderful, loyal, smart as can be boy looking for someone that can make a commitment to him. Beautiful big boy Kayce is about 4.5yrs old and he weighs approximately 80lbs. He is a very tall boy, and he’s very athletic so a running partner would be perfect! Lots of hiking, long walks and jogging will be ideal, too. Kayce is mixed with something that gives him a curly tail. We don’t know the mix, but we do know he loves people so a large breed, shepherd experienced, social home would be best. He gets excited when he meets new people and can be very exuberant in his wiggles so no small children, please. Kayce is very selective of his female playmates and he does not like male dogs so he should be the only animal in the home. No kitties for Kayce. He is house and crate trained so he can stay home alone for a reasonable amount of time. He’s also a quiet boy that likes to relax with his person after a fun day of exercise. He can be an independent guy so he will explore and self entertain when he’s outside in a 6ft securely fenced yard. He’ll let you know when he wants to come back in by standing at the back door so he can come in to get a treat and then relax for awhile. Story
Meet Russell Crowe Russell is a 6-month-old GSD/Pit mix with those classic shepherd looks and a soft, soulful personality to match. He’s expected to grow into a big, handsome boy around 80–85 lbs. Russell came from a tough start—rescued alongside his brother Joaquin from a backyard in Kitsap County where they were living in poor condition. Thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, they were brought to safety, nourished, and eventually made their way to us at NWWR. After getting the care they needed from our vet, Russell began his new chapter in a loving foster home. This sweet boy is the definition of a gentle soul. He can be a little shy at first, but give him some time, patience, and a few treats, and you’ll see his true colors shine. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly affectionate—expect soft cuddles, little kisses, and a loyal companion who just wants to be close to his person. Russell does well with other dogs, cats, and respectful kids. Because he can be a bit skittish, he’d do best with older kiddos (8+) or dog-savvy younger ones. He’s fully potty trained (with supervision), crate trained, and currently working on building confidence and leash skills—he’s still a puppy, after all, and a total blank slate ready to learn! His ideal home? A calm, patient environment with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes, plus a fully fenced yard where he can feel safe while he continues to grow and gain confidence. Russell loves squeaky toys, enjoys a good chew session, and will never turn down peanut butter. While he’s not the most adventurous guy just yet, with time, love, and trust, he just might surprise you. If Russell could write his own dating profile:“Sweet, sensitive guy seeking a forever family. I may be a little shy at first, but once I love you, I really love you. Looking for someone to share cozy moments, gentle adventures, and help me feel safe in this big world.” Russell is ready to find his person—the one who will show him that the best is yet to come. Up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heart worm negative and being neutered on 4/6 Adoption fee $500 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2691284##
