Please fill out an application to start the process to meet SOPHIE. In person meet and greets will be held in TARZANA, CA https://pawsitivetailstoremember.forms-db.com/view.php?id=17980 SOPHIE is 5 yrs old, she weighs approx. 13 lbs and we believe that she is a Lhasa Apso/Doxie Mix with a soft gray, black and tan wavy coat which will require regular grooming. Sophie is spayed, up to date on her vaccines and is microchipped! After Sophie was rescued from the shelter, we noticed symptoms of what we thought was a simple UTI, but it wasn’t. Sophie saw two vets, had numerous tests done and we discovered that she had a very large bladder stone which required surgery. Sophie has fully recovered from her surgery and she’s doing great! Sophie will need to be watched closely for any signs of a reoccurrence and UTI’s. Please don’t let this stop you from wanting to meet this special girl. Sophie is easy going and is a total love! She will be shy the first few days after being adopted, but she will quickly warm up to you! Sophie loves to explore and she is house broken so a yard would be a plus in her forever home. Give her a snuggly bed and she will be happy. This little girl is all sugar and sweetness and she will make a wonderful addition to any home. Sophie would love nothing more than to find a loving family to call her own.

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET BANJO….and he will bring a song to your heart! This youngin’ is a 15 lb, cream w/ silver tips, under 2 yr old, Lhasa Bichon, as best as we can guess, is a doll! He came to us from the South Central Shelter crusted with skin, ear and eye infections…not to mention he was a filthy mess. A bath, some magical cream and antibiotics…a grooming and Banjo is ready to play music for you all the way home! Don’t let his calm appearance fool you! Banjo will surprise you with his longing to go for long walks, hikes or visits to the park. Young small dogs are NOT COUCH POTATOES! Banjo loves to play with you…and other dogs who want to play with him! While we can’t guarantee he is potty trained, we can tell you that he does not lift his leg! He will only go on a pp pad if he can’t get out…but we want him to go to a home where he will get exercised and have playdates if he doesn’t have another dog at home. We can tell you that he DOES NOT LIKE being left alone and you might just hear him singing (howling even!) if you leave him without company! Banjo is interested in toys, but his foster roommate doesn’t give him a chance to get the ball or toy first! Ideally, Banjo will have a home with a yard, maybe kids over 5 yrs old and another dog! He would be the happiest camper! He is very social and really seems to enjoy children. He would be wonderful to take to sports games, brunch or wherever he is allowed to go with you. That being said, he can be extremely active when you leash him (excited to be going)! Do you need some happy music in your heart and a cuddlebug to show you his appreciation for loving him? He’s waiting. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION HERE’S SUSHI….and she is about as delicious as a platter of Sashimi! This absolutely adorable, tri colored w/ black mask, 14 lb, Havanese/Lhasa Apso mix, is only 9 months old (DOB 10/2024) and was being dumped in the East Valley Shelter. The owner said he was going to be evicted so he could no longer keep her — thank doG a seasoned foster was at the entrance who intercepted her. Intact, not fully vaccinated and needing a grooming, there was no way she was going into the shelter! Now spayed and UTD on vaccinations. Sushi is super social, friendly with everyone and everything…loves playing with toys and other dogs, giving kisses and happily cuddling with her humans! Even though she is still a puppy, she sleeps through the night and is mostly quiet — though she does bark at bigger dogs on walks. That’s her job after all…protecting her humans. Foster is working on this and Sushi is responding. Very smart, wants to please! Sushi is on a new adventure to find the ideal home, one where there is another playful dog, someone who works from home or is home and active enough to work with a puppy! Puppies have a lot of energy and when you have these breeds, they need to know who the boss is and respect you! It’s apparent the former owner didn’t spend much time with her, as she was still learning where the bathroom is — and now she knows! That being said, we never guarantee! She hasn’t been cat tested, but she would be likely be great with kids! If Sushi sounds like a pup you could love for life…let us know! Not a good match for a mature home as she is like the energizer bunny…but one with children over 8 yrs old might just be the ticket. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET ACE….and he’s a special guy! This 15 lb, 3.5 yr old, tan, Lhasa Apso mix, came from the Carson Shelter, after another rescue pulled his brother and left him behind. Poor guy has been through hell, as this was his second abandonment after his thoughtless owners dumped them both in the shelter “because they were moving!!” This broke our hearts. I jumped into my car, pulled him out and immediately took him to the groomer and bathed him myself! Once groomed, we came home and he felt soooo much better! Ace is a big cuddler and kisser. He does well with everyone, but he has a ton of energy and likes to jump up on you, so we think he’d be best in a home without young kids or seniors. We have found he is partial to female dogs and loves to play but seems to be challenged by male dogs. He does not like being left alone, so he might be best with a female — perhaps a bit bigger than he is — one who is submissive and won’t challenge him. OR as your companion where he is rarely left alone. We know nobody is home 24/7! He’s fine with dogs, but when you are around he doesn’t like them usurping his glory! He wants all your love!! This boy is a great eater and isn’t fussy. He is very playful with his two female roomies and with his foster mom. He is pretty quiet, even when left alone he settles down. Ace would be a fantastic companion for a runner, hiker, active person who loves to enjoy the outdoors. He walks extremely well on a leash and does his business shortly after the walk begins! That being said, if he can’t get out and has to go…he will use a pp pad. So far, we haven’t seen him lift his leg, but no guarantees at your house! While he isn’t a lap dog, he would love nothing better to cuddle up to you when the day is done and fall asleep in your arms! Does ACE sound like your kind of guy? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET DWEEZIL…. and there is no question, he is a rockstar! This adorable 12 lb, 2yr-old, tri-colored, Lhasa Shih Tzu mix came from the Harbor Animal Shelter and he was meant to come to LHH. Another person tried to adopt him after he had been available 10 days and we were on our way to get him. They did not have enough money, and they obviously were not the right home, so we picked him up and brought him directly to our groomer. Picture #4 shows you how matted this poor baby was, and in obvious pain. No longer, he is a sweetheart and will fall asleep in your arms while you rub his belly. Dweezil loves everyone. He is kissy, active, extremely playful, loves toys and is a very happy pup! At 12 pounds, he is very underweight and eats like he hasn’t seen food in a month! He is getting plenty of good nourishment at LHH. Dweezil Does not like being left alone, so the best home for him would be one where there is another dog. We are working on his potty training and it’s going very well, but no guarantees at your house. He is potty-pad trained. Dweezil just arrived, so we are still learning more about him. He will be at our adoption events until he finds his forever home! We know he won’t last long so if you’re interested, please apply! Our website is updated daily. Story
BANDIT, recently groomed and clipped, is a long legged Lhasa Apso, who is 6-7 years old, 17 pounds, and has been an only dog with the same family (who could not keep him), since puppyhood. Bandit's only flaw is that he is overly loyal and protective, and will take a nip out of a stranger's foot or ankle if they suddenly come too close. Lhasas are a very ancient breed and were fierce little sentinel and guard dogs for the Dalai Llama and Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. The 14th Dalai Llama sent them as gifts to the West, and they have been a favorite ever since. Bandit is neutered and vaccinated and eager to be welcomed into his new home where he can be the dedicated guardian he was meant to be. To learn more about Bandit, please contact: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal donation and sponsorship email)
