Meet Paprika- the best cuddle buddy you’ll find! Despite his rough start after arriving here at the shelter, Paprika loves nothing more than being by his people- especially the one person who he chooses to love most! Paprika bonds very strongly with one person, and will shower them with constant love and affection- and will ask for endless belly rubs in return, of course! Even though he has one eye, he refuses to let that slow him down, and Paprika is always ready to follow his person wherever they go, even if that means braving the cold outdoors! Despite not being a fan of being left alone, Paprika is working hard on his crate training in his foster home, and will settle down in a cozy crate with a nice bed for him. Paprika is also a master of the cue “sit”, and will happily sit down and look at you with the most adorable face if it means getting yummy snacks! With treats being a big motivator, Paprika is eager to learn more cues to help him be the best buddy he can be for you. If you’re looking for a perfect sized lap dog to spend hours at home with you soaking up your attention, Paprika sounds like the perfect match for you! Paprika is an All-Star dog! His adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption. Their adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and they will go home with their very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get them off to a good start! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Story
Oreo was born August 8, 2016. I purchased him from a rural family in Wisconsin. We gave him his first shots and then only continued with rabies as prescribed. I originally got Oreo for my daughters, but now they are grown and my husband and my lifestyle is too occupied to give him the cuddles he needs. Oreo's only desire is for food, walks and cuddles. These are his greatest pleasures. He would do best with someone who simply needs companionship. Oreo is allergic to chicken and beef. We give him salmon and veggies. He is afraid of a vet and groomer, afterall he is a tiny 10lbs. I typically groom him myself. He looks his best fluffy, like a mini teddy bear. Oreo is not a big barker, it takes another dogs barking to get him going, otherwise he is pretty docile and quiet. Oreo will dance in circles for you and say hello if you have a snack! Oreo sleeps in his kennel at night and will run to his cage if you tell him to go to his cage or go goodnight.

Meet Dottie! Dotte is a 4-year-old Bichon Frise, weighing 12 lbs, with a sweet personality and a fresh start ahead of her. She has a medium energy level—she enjoys activity and playtime but also appreciates downtime once her needs are met. Dottie gets along well with other dogs and cats and does best with school-age children or older. She enjoys companionship and being part of daily life. Dottie came to rescue as a breeder release from a puppy mill, so she is still learning what it means to be a family dog. She is still working on housebreaking and is not leash trained or crate trained, and will need a patient, understanding adopter who can help her continue building confidence and skills. Dottie would thrive in a home that: 1.Has experience or patience with dogs new to home life 2.Can provide consistent routines and gentle training 3.Includes another friendly dog (a plus, but not required) 4.Has school-age children or older 5.Understands that former breeder dogs need time, kindness, and reassurance With the right home, Dottie has all the potential to blossom into a loving and devoted companion. An adoption fee applies. Dottie will be fully vetted, including spay, vaccines, and microchip. Dottie is currently being fostered in Mukwonago, WI. Jordan is a delightful Bichon Frise puppy! He is a bouncy happy little fella. He will delight you and keep you smiling. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and had not been exposed to the same things a puppy born in your home has. However, he is adjusting very well and will blossom in his own family. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Jordan important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Jordan is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $1200..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Liam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in and to the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits.
