Story
Meet Susie, a small but mighty bundle of joy looking for a special place to land! Susie is a gentle, laid-back girl who is an absolute dream in the home. She is fully housetrained using a doggy door, very respectful of her surroundings, and completely trustworthy when left free-roam—usually choosing to spend her alone time peacefully napping. During the workday, she’s the ultimate remote-work companion, happily curled up in a dog bed right by your desk. While she’s naturally quiet and non-destructive, Susie has a wonderfully playful side, too! She loves playing with toys, tossing them in the air to chase down, and occasionally bursting into a glorious case of outdoor backyard zoomies. When it's time to turn in for the night, her absolute favorite place to sleep is right on the bed, snuggled up close to her favorite people. Though she carries a bit of shy hesitation from her past—upright, standing humans can still be a little intimidating to her!—Susie’s curiosity and deep desire for connection always win out. She loves affection once she feels safe, and she is surprisingly confident and loving around children, gladly curling up to cuddle with them. Without a single mean bone in her body, she expresses her loyalty by becoming your devoted little shadow, following you quietly from room to room. Susie thrives around other dogs and would do best in a patient home with a confident canine role model to help her learn the ropes. Susie is currently staying in a foster home and will need an experienced adopter willing to put in the work to help her come out of her shell more over the coming months, rewarding you with a lifetime of quiet devotion and endless love. If you are interested in meeting Susie, please email Info@TailsHumaneSociety.org

Story
Lullela is a 6 year Bishon Friese Mix. She is spayed, weighs about 10 pounds. She was an owner give up when her daughter moved away to college. She was with the same family since she was a puppy. She is up to date on her shots, she is heartworn negative, She is mostly potty trained, She gets along with other dogs, we do not know about cats or children. She is pretty laid back. She does not know any commands, or know how to walk on a leash so training is a must for any adopter. She hates her crate, but will sleep in it at night if asked. She has new skin allergies, so her vet has placed her on grain free food and special shampoo, she will need follow up on this with her new family. This is a Pay It Forward dog. This means the adoption donation of $550 will help to save another pup needing rescue and vetting. If you are interested in this dog, please complete an adoption application.Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.orgAlmost Home Foundation`s adoption requirements:(1) Be at least 21 years of age;(2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household;(3) Have approval from the residence owner;(4) Have valid ID with current address;(5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home; and(6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only)*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, checks, or Zelle for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***

Meet Maxwell: Professional Happiness Distributor. Amateur Escape Artist. Full Time Snuggle Expert. Clicking a button on this website does NOT submit an application. Go to albertsdoglounge.com to applySome dogs have resting grumpy face. Maxwell has resting happy face. This fluffy little 24-pound Bichon/Poodle mix wakes up every morning absolutely convinced it's going to be the greatest day of his life. And honestly? He'd like you to feel the same way.Whether it's a walk around the block, making dinner, watching TV, or simply following you to the bathroom for the 47th time that day, Maxwell approaches life with the enthusiasm of someone who just won the lottery. His tail wags. His whole body wiggles. He has the happiest little trot you've ever seen. His walk-up song? Walking on Sunshine, of course.Maxwell found himself at Chicago Animal Care & Control as a stray...again. Whatever his life looked like before, it's clear no one ever told him he wasn't supposed to love people with his whole heart. He's decided those days are behind him, and now he's looking for a family worthy of all the joy he's been saving up.If you've ever wanted your own personal shadow, congratulations. You've found Captain Underfoot. Maxwell is a world-class Velcro dog. If you're cooking, he's your sous chef. Folding laundry? He's quality control. Watching TV? He's already wedged against your leg. Sleeping? He'd vote to sleep in your bed if it weren't a little too tall, so he settles for snoozing faithfully beside your side of the bed like the loyal little gentleman he is. Personal space? Maxwell has heard the term but respectfully declines to participate. And speaking of cooking... We're fairly certain his true passion is becoming a celebrity chef. He watches every meal being prepared with laser focus, mentally taking notes as though Gordon Ramsay might call at any moment. If food is involved, Maxwell would like to volunteer as both assistant and official taste tester. This cheerful little guy absolutely lives for walks. Put on your shoes, glance toward the front door, or accidentally jingle a leash, and Maxwell assumes Adventure Time has officially begun. He'll happily enjoy a nice 20-30 minute stroll, where he can sniff every fascinating scent and proudly handle, well, most of his bathroom business.Rain, however? Maxwell would like to file a formal complaint with Mother Nature. He firmly believes soggy paws are unnecessary, inconvenient, and frankly rude.Maxwell is also one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. His foster family has watched him be incredibly gentle and thoughtful with Gizmo, their blind foster dog. He seems to instinctively understand that Gizmo needs a little extra kindness, and he happily adjusts around him. It's impossible not to notice just how soft-hearted this little guy really is.Like many dogs, Maxwell isn't perfect. He gets excited when he sees other dogs on walks and can pull on the leash while announcing that he'd very much like to investigate. His foster family is teaching him to check in instead (hot dogs are proving to be an excellent educational tool). He can be a little head shy, likely because of a chronic ear issue that's being treated, and he's still polishing his manners. He also has one tiny flaw. Okay...two. Actually, well, let's call them enthusiasms.First, Maxwell believes every open front door is the beginning of an exciting new adventure. He is a front-door and car-door bolter, so his forever family will need to be mindful whenever doors are opened.Second, if you stand still too long, there's an excellent chance you'll discover Maxwell directly beneath your feet. He's earned the title Captain Underfoot for a reason. He's currently marking indoors, something that will hopefully improve after his upcoming neuter surgery. He's also scheduled to have his chronic ear cleaned and treated while he's under anesthesia, so he'll soon be feeling even better. The funny thing about Maxwell is that beneath all the comedy, cuddles, and enthusiasm is simply a dog who wants one thing: His people. He doesn't care if you have a giant backyard or a cozy apartment. He doesn't need fancy adventures. He just wants someone to love, someone to follow, someone to cuddle with, and someone to take him on the walks he dreams about. If you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep your lap warm, supervise every meal, remind you to enjoy the little things, and greet every single day like it's the best one yet, Maxwell is already waiting by the door.Probably because he thinks it's time for a walk.Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. About Betty White BREED: Bichon Frise Physical Traits: Young (3 years) Female Small (7 pounds) White BEHAVIOR: House Trained: Working on it Spayed/Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Special Needs: No Betty’s Compatibility Kids -Unknown Dogs – Yes Cats – Yes Other Animals – Unknown Adoption Fee – $550 Betty’s Story Betty is a Bichon Frise, 3 years old and weighs 7 pounds. Since arriving at her foster home, Betty was vaccinated, dewormed, was tested for heart worms with a clear test result, spayed, and a hernia repaired. If you ask Betty, that’s enough of that! Betty lives in her foster home with a big dog, 2 little dogs, and a cat that thinks it’s a dog. And Betty loves them all. Betty would do well in a home that has a playful companion dog. Since Betty did not have any prior human socialization, she is not yet comfortable around people. She’d rather hang out with dogs and easygoing cats. For that reason, her family will need extra patience and lots of love to show Betty while she learns how wonderful people can be. Older children who can respect Betty’s need for space while she adjusts to her new home would be best. Betty will need a fenced yard, but no electric/underground fences. If you can provide Betty with a loving home, please complete an online adoption application for Betty White at https://www.tinypawssmalldogrescue.org. Betty is fostered in West Bend, Wisconsin. Her adoption fee is $550. WI DATCP # 274478

Playing with toys and chewing on their favorite treats like bully sticks, yak sticks, chicken feet, and turkey feet. Adoption Requirements: - Fenced Yard: A secure fence is required.
