Story
Monty is a sweet, affectionate little boy with a lot of love to give! Although we don’t know his exact breed, he is a curly haired pup and doesn’t bother his foster mom’s allergies. He walks with a slightly wide gait between his hind legs and he has a crooked tail, but this doesn’t seem to bother him or slow him down! He can run and go on long walks just like any little dog. He likes to jump up on his hind legs to say hello to people and loves to give people little kisses. He will need regular grooming, especially near his butt, since poop does tend to stick to his fur there due to his crooked tail swinging lower. Monty is quiet most of the time and he gets along well with dogs when off leash but is working on greeting dogs on leash. He will sometimes bark at other dogs when they are out of his reach (e.g., when he’s on the leash and they are farther away, when separated by a fence) but has not shown any aggression whatsoever toward his foster dog siblings, even when he’s on leash and they aren’t. He doesn’t bark when the doorbell rings, when he sees his foster parents get home, or when his foster dog siblings are barking at something outside. When he’s excited, he will spin in a circle and sit nicely. Monty enjoys following his foster parents around the house, sitting on their laps, getting held on his back like a baby, and exploring outside on walks. He is not a picky eater and cleans his bowl at each meal. He is crate trained and keeps his crate clean overnight and when his foster parents aren't home. He is still working on being fully house trained but he is making excellent progress in his first week being at his foster home! If you are looking for a sweet boy to be your new buddy and love you unconditionally from day 1, look no further! He is more than ready to find his forever home and meet the people who will treat him like the little prince he is!

Story
Jordan is a delightful Bichon Frise puppy! He is a bouncy happy little fella. He will delight you and keep you smiling. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and had not been exposed to the same things a puppy born in your home has. However, he is adjusting very well and will blossom in his own family. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Jordan important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Jordan is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $1200..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Liam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in and to the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate, please fill out an application for adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us via email/ Do not call. Story
Bitsy led a life in a breeding mill, she produced litter after litter making money for her owners, until she got too old. Luckily for her she was released to us! No more breeding for Bitsy, she's fixed now. It took her a while to get used to an envoirnment that wasn't behind bars and guess what, with love and gentle hands .... she bloomed. She now needs someone who will continue the gentle guidance and reassure her that she's safe. She is potty pad trained and all vetting has been done. She likes other dogs but a calm household where Bitsy can shine is encouraged. Her adoption fee is 400 please apply at thecharlieprojectdogrescue.com Please visit our website www.thecharlieprojectdogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Story
Larry is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Larry is a tender-hearted senior gentleman with a quiet resilience that shines through in everything he does. After a difficult past, he’s still choosing love (learning to trust and choosing love) —and he’s hoping to find someone who will choose him right back. Fully house trained and a wonderfully companion, Larry will come find you and give you that knowing look when he needs something. He doesn’t require a crate and does beautifully when left alone, especially when he feels safe and secure in his environment. This charming little companion is happiest right by your side. He’ll follow you from room to room, checking in often, and happily settling nearby for a nap. Larry adores the outdoors—whether it’s lounging by the door, relaxing on a deck, or enjoying a few short, leisurely walks each day. Though his hearing isn’t the best, he stays closely attuned to his person, taking cues from your presence and routine. He tolerates well with other dogs, especially calm companions who respect his space and aren`t overly assertive or clumsy, and shows a gentle curiosity toward them, and he’s proven to be a polite, easygoing house guest.Larry can be a bit sensitive—both physically and emotionally—so he’s looking for a calm, adult home where he can continue to build trust at his own pace. He may be shy at first, especially around taller men or in new situations, but with patience and kindness, his affectionate, cuddly nature blossoms. He doesn’t enjoy being picked up, but once he’s comfortable, he absolutely loves being close and soaking up gentle attention. Sweet, loyal, and deeply devoted, Larry is the kind of companion who will quietly steal your heart and stay there. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Story
Imogen is a gentle little soul who seems to float through life on quiet paws. At 12 years young, this sweet Shih Tzu has perfected the art of calm companionship—she’s soft, serene, and radiates an almost angelic peace wherever she rests. If you’re looking for a dog who brings tranquility and warmth into your home, Imogen is your girl.Imogen is wonderfully easygoing and happy just being near her people. She adores lap time, gentle scratches, and loving attention when she’s awake, though she’s equally content spending much of her day napping sweetly in her cozy bed. She never barks, has no bad habits, and is beautifully well-behaved when left alone—no crate required. This precious girl is blind and hard of hearing, which only adds to her peaceful nature. She doesn’t need commands to thrive—just routine, patience, and love. Imogen does best on the lower level of the home and prefers to avoid stairs, snow, mud, and other tricky surfaces. She enjoys being outside when the weather is kind, especially if there’s a clear, shoveled path for her to stroll.Imogen is indifferent to other dogs, unfazed by the world around her, and simply asks for a soft place to land and a gentle human to love. She’s an old soul with a heart full of quiet devotion—ready to be someone’s little guardian angel at home.Interested in adopting this dog?
