Story
Hazel is so sweet, and is VERY loving. She is not good around other dogs on the leash, but in a dog park she is totally fine and will run around and have fun. It’s a leash thing, she loves to cuddle and is very good at eating and drinking water. She rarely uses the restroom on the pee pad. She really is a great dog, i just can only take care of 1 right now. 2 is a little much and im loosing the love i had for her when i found her in Fort Lauderdale when i lived in miami! I couldn’t let her die outside, so i took her in. Her and my golden retriever are freat friends! But again, i only need 1 animal right now.

Story
Meet Rita! Sweet Rita spent over 4 months sitting in an overcrowded metro area shelter just waiting to be saved after her puppies were aborted. We can only imagine how sad, confused, and scared she was! That's all behind her now though! Rita is such a sweet happy girl now that she's out of the shelter and settled into her foster home! She spends her days running and playing with all of her dog friends and her nights snuggled up with a soft blanket - no more scary shelters for her! The one final piece of Rita's Happily Ever After still missing is her very own forever family! Could that be you? Story
Hey there Delilah, what's it like in New York City?Although she can take a little bit to warm up, Delilah is very playful once she opens up. She loves getting brushed, takes treats gently, and knows how to "sit" like a proper lady. Don't let her shyness fool you, underneath her baby doll eyes is a very affectionate dog who loves to give kisses! Delilah could really use a loving home where she can grow her confidence and feel safe. She loves to crawl right next to you and would make a great cuddle buddy. She has also met other dogs very politely on leash at the shelter and might do well with other dogs at home or in the outside world! She has also done well being crate-trained, and is a smart girl who will flourish with some additional training.Click the "I'm Interested" button to be connected with her foster family.

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Rita is a funny little gal who loves playing and snuggling up to her people. If no one is available for playtime, she is happy to entertain herself by throwing balls and toys up in the air and catching them. She's just the kind of dog that can always put you in a better mood!  Lucky Rita landed at animal control as a stray in the Fall. But by Winter a Good Samaritan plucked her out as a foster and put her through training to make her stand out from the crowd. While in training, she learned to temper her play with other dogs a bit, as she used to have a tendency to get over-stimulated and rowdy.  Over time, Rita has learned how to politely engage with other pups and to pick up on their cues when they're tired of playing. She is very eager to please and learn, so she looks forward to her very own person who can continue to show her the ropes of pet life. Visitors to the home are a little bit stressful to Rita, so at this time we are looking for a child free, low traffic home for her. Rita thrives with routine and few surprises. As far as love goes, it comes quite naturally to Miss Rita. She is always happy to greet you and lean into you for affection.  See more photos/videos of sweet Rita: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B18J058xyJs6jWO Age:  2-3 years Weight: 35 lbs Temperament: Very friendly with familiar people, but needs a slow intro to home visitors; energetically playful with dogs Training: Housetrained, crate-trained and knows commands Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.July 23, 2024, 1:05 pm

Story
Raelynn is a beautiful black mouth cur mix with so much love and “perfect dog energy”! She is giving the vibes and taking names. Kind to our little 10 lb muttie mixes and other visitors to the house both human and canine, Raelynn has a fantastic personality. She is untried with cats; we are working on not chasing squirrels from bird feeders. She is 100% a ball dog, and she is a fast and active runner who enjoys the outdoors and a super active lifestyle. Raelynn is nonstop until the evening, and then a stern “time for night night!” sends her straight to sleep through the night. She has never had any potty accidents in our house, and she has never chewed up ANY of our possessions. She is perfect! With a sleek and soft honeyed - brown coat, beautiful brown doe eyes, and a lovely expression of loving calmness, it is way too easy to fall for this girl. Could you be the one to be her one? She deserves the world, and we are looking for someone to give it to her. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
