We can only imagine how sad, confused, and scared she was! That's all behind her now though! Rita is such a sweet happy girl now that she's out of the shelter and settled into her foster home! She spends her days running and playing with all of her dog friends and her nights snuggled up with a soft blanket - no more scary shelters for her! Jazzy girl is quite pretty and she knows it! We think that she is a black mouth curr. She is mostly blonde with a pretty black muzzle. She is up to date on all of her shots and is about to be spayed. She is still very much a puppy and wants nothing more than to play and kiss!!! She likes dogs and people too. She is just 29lbs at the moment and approximately 1 year old. She loves affection and looks to be petted and hugged. She is marvelous !!!

Hi, I'm Skyler, and I’m a sweet, loving 18-month-old pup. My mom, a retired senior (turning 68 next month), rescued me from the shelter because she thought I'd be a great fit for her after her beloved Shih Tzu of 14 years passed away. While she adores me, she’s realized I have more energy than she can keep up with at her age. So now, I hope to find a new home that matches my playful spirit! I’m full of love and enjoy lots of hugs and kisses. My mom knows little about my past, but I’ve adjusted well and am eager to learn new things. I’m not sure how I’d do with small children, but I warm up quickly to people and have done well meeting other dogs (I had a great boarding experience with other pups!). I’m a good listener, very treat-motivated, and have already learned a few commands like sit, stay, down, and "in" (for my crate). I love running, chewing on ice, and I’m fully crate-trained and housebroken. If you’re looking for an energetic and loyal companion, contact my mom for more info.

Raelynn is a beautiful black mouth cur mix with so much love and “perfect dog energy”! She is giving the vibes and taking names. Kind to our little 10 lb muttie mixes and other visitors to the house both human and canine, Raelynn has a fantastic personality. She is untried with cats; we are working on not chasing squirrels from bird feeders. She is 100% a ball dog, and she is a fast and active runner who enjoys the outdoors and a super active lifestyle. Raelynn is nonstop until the evening, and then a stern “time for night night!” sends her straight to sleep through the night. She has never had any potty accidents in our house, and she has never chewed up ANY of our possessions. She is perfect! With a sleek and soft honeyed - brown coat, beautiful brown doe eyes, and a lovely expression of loving calmness, it is way too easy to fall for this girl. Could you be the one to be her one? Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
