Introducing this cute, sweet, smart boy named Alistair. Alistair arrived at the shelter on 3/19 because he got lost on an adventure! He is precious, sweet and cute as he can be. He is very playful, attentive and obedient and enjoys playing outside as much as he can while he patiently waits for his new home. He has a lot of energy to burn so a fenced in backyard where he can run until his heart is content is ideal for him. Alistair would love to have an active family that will include him on grand adventures. Create activities for him to keep him stimulated and content so he doesn't get bored and wonder away from home again. All it takes is for you to be extremely patient and dedicated as a committed pet parent. Period. This smart, energetic baby is awesome as he knows of commands such as sit when asked which is awesome! He may know more and would be the perfect student if someone would take the time to teach him. He yearns for a great family who will take the time to train him properly so he will never return to a shelter ever again. With your patience and love, he is going to need you now more than ever. Meet Rita! Sweet Rita spent over 4 months sitting in an overcrowded metro area shelter just waiting to be saved after her puppies were aborted. We can only imagine how sad, confused, and scared she was! That's all behind her now though! Rita is such a sweet happy girl now that she's out of the shelter and settled into her foster home! She spends her days running and playing with all of her dog friends and her nights snuggled up with a soft blanket - no more scary shelters for her! She is the sweetest girl with the softest fur, who is eager to meet everyone and will quickly become your best friend. She absolutely LOVES treats and will sit like a princess for them. She likes yogurt, but will happily and gently take any treat you offer. She's also easy on leash and more than happy to dress up in costumes or play around in our ball pit! She has done well with dogs, cats, and kids in the past, too. If no one is available for playtime, she is happy to entertain herself by throwing balls and toys up in the air and catching them. She's just the kind of dog that can always put you in a better mood!  Lucky Rita landed at animal control as a stray in the Fall. But by Winter a Good Samaritan plucked her out as a foster and put her through training to make her stand out from the crowd. While in training, she learned to temper her play with other dogs a bit, as she used to have a tendency to get over-stimulated and rowdy.  Over time, Rita has learned how to politely engage with other pups and to pick up on their cues when they're tired of playing. She is very eager to please and learn, so she looks forward to her very own person who can continue to show her the ropes of pet life. Visitors to the home are a little bit stressful to Rita, so at this time we are looking for a child free, low traffic home for her. Rita thrives with routine and few surprises. As far as love goes, it comes quite naturally to Miss Rita. Betsy Mae is a gem. We adopted her from the Atlanta Humane Society and she is about 7 years old. She is so so sweet and calm, and wins everyone over that she meets. Betsy is great with kids and other people. She just wants a family that will let her lay in the sun coming in from the window or outside on a patio, pet her head and belly, and give her all of the love and attention a loved pet should receive. She is fully potty trained. I would love her to find a home with someone that can just let her lay around the house and gives her love and attention. She is fairly low energy so she does not require walks or runs, but loves to roam the yard on a nice day.
