Hey everyone, meet JoJo! Do you love snacks? Then look no further, because this girl right here, was meant for you. Breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, mid-afternoon, dinner, midnight snacks are always welcome. This sweet girl has been in a loving home but due to a loss in the family and change in living circumstances, Miss JoJo finds herself looking for another one. She has not been around cats of small children, but has a naturally sweet disposition and gentle temperament. As a predominantly inside dog, JoJo is house trained but is used to spending time outside in a fenced yard. She has a playful personality and has played well with the other small dog that has lived with her. Please consider giving Miss JoJo a forever home to live out the best years of her life. If this sounds like the pup for you, please complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. Story
Harper's Tail-Wagging Tale! Meet Harper! This sweet and energetic 15-month-old Black Mouth Cur is ready to find her forever family! Harper is a playful pup with a heart of gold. She loves to run, play fetch, and explore the great outdoors. But what she loves even more is spending time with her favorite people! Harper was adopted by a college student from a shelter in Palm Beach, Florida immediately preceding Hurricane Milton. When my son returned home, he brought her along. Unfortunately, she does not get along with our cat. Harper is an excellent family dog. She's incredibly gentle and patient, especially with children. Whether it's a game of tag in the backyard or a cuddle session on the couch, Harper is always up for some quality time. Harper is also exceptionally playful with our other dog.

Story
Meet Wayne! Wayne is a gentle, handsome boy with a heart full of love to give. He was found with another dog and brought to the shelter back in June 2022. After spending three long years in a kennel, he’s more than ready for a fresh start. Despite his time in the shelter, Wayne has remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager to bond with people. He lights up when he’s around others and quietly soaks up all the love and attention he can get. He is around 4 years old now. Wayne is very smart and catches on quickly to new things. He walks fairly well on a leash, though he can become scared by loud noises or unfamiliar situations and may freeze or try to hide. He absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them. Wayne has been good around children of all ages, but due to his occasionally skittish nature, older or more gentle kids would be the best fit for him. He’s still unsure about being crated, which isn’t surprising given his long stay in a kennel, but he’s making progress. Wayne is a sweet and happy boy who is just waiting for the chance to experience life in a loving home. With a little patience and a lot of affection, he’ll make an incredibly loyal and grateful companion. Apply at bcaaofnj.orgInterested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
Meet Tony! Estimated to be about a year old and weighing 25 lbs (with a little room to fill out!), Tony is a joyful, sweet-natured pup with a heart of gold and the most expressive little face you’ve ever seen. His tan coat is accented by unique gray markings and the most charming eye features that seem to smile with him.Tony is truly a happy soul who seems grateful every day for his second chance. He’s never growled or shown a moment of grumpiness—just tail wags, gentle energy, and a desire to be close to his people. Whether he’s chasing a tennis ball, trotting beside his foster siblings, or curling up for a snuggle, Tony brings a soft, steady joy to every moment. Dog-Friendly: Tony loves other dogs and fits in beautifully with his foster siblings—a large Lab mix and a small, cranky Jack Russell who bosses him around (and he lets her!). He’s playful, respectful, and totally fine letting someone else be the boss. Cat-Tolerant: He lives with cats and is sweet and curious with them. Though his foster family supervises all kitty interactions, Tony has shown calm behavior—especially when snacks are involved! Kid-Friendly: Tony has been lovely with kids of all ages. He lives with teens and has spent time around a crawling toddler, showing nothing but gentleness and joy. Leash & Crate Trained: He walks well on leash (a harness is recommended for new or loud environments), and he loves his crate! Just say “kennel,” show him a treat, and he’s in like a flash. He sleeps quietly all night and hangs out peacefully while you go about your day. Housebroken: Tony picked up house training quickly in his foster home and has been doing great, especially with a consistent routine. Smart & Eager to Please: He knows “sit,” “kennel,” and comes when called. He’s treat motivated, easygoing, and tunes into his people’s tone of voice like a champ.Tony’s energy level is just right—medium. He’s up for a game of fetch or a walk when you are, but also more than happy to couch-potato the day away. He’s not shy, but he’s not in-your-face either; he’ll look to you for reassurance in new situations, then follow your lead with quiet confidence. Favorite activities include: zoomies with dog friends, chasing tennis balls, sunbathing in the grass, cuddling close on the couch, and being wherever you are. Ideal Home: Tony would thrive in many environments—from a house with a yard to a townhome with walking access. He’d love a doggy sibling but could also soak up the love as a solo pup. He’s low-maintenance, lovable, and endlessly sweet. Our favorite thing about Tony? He’s silly, affectionate, smart, and just SO good-natured. An easy companion who brings joy with his whole body. Watching him play will make your day. Ready to meet this charming, gentle boy? Apply today at bcaaofnj.org Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
Meet Roxie! Roxie is a beautiful 3-year-old, 60-pound pup with a funny personality and a love for playtime. She’s an outgoing girl with medium to high energy, always ready for a good run or a game of tug with her favorite stuffed toys. Roxie thrives on attention and would be happiest in a quieter home where she can get plenty of one-on-one time with her people.Roxy is playful with other dogs, though she’d prefer not to share her food — a little space at mealtime keeps everyone happy. While she can be vocal when new people arrive, she’s not aggressive — just a good watchdog letting you know someone’s there. She’s crate trained, housebroken, and knows how to sit. On leash, she will pull when something interesting catches her eye, so she’ll benefit from some continued training.Roxie isn’t afraid of loud noises like thunder or fireworks, but she’ll bark to let you know she hears them. If you’re looking for a fun, playful, and devoted dog who will always keep you on your toes and love you fiercely, Roxie might just be your perfect match.
