Story
I've had Spunky for 4 years now. He's a great dog. He has a loud bark and he's very active. I took him on long walks or to the dog park frequently. Due to many different changes in my life, I'm unable to afford to take care of him. I'm looking for a new home for him. A loving person or family that will take good care of him.

Story
Meet Diego! Diego is an approximately two-year-old Border Collie mix, adoptable through Chi Town Rescue. Diego came to rescue when his owner contacted us hoping for some help with his medical needs. Diego has lived his life as an outdoor dog, and was hit by a car back in February. When he came to Chi Town, we got him the medical care he needed and discovered he had a fractured pelvis and L7 vertebrae. He was unable to walk and we weren't sure if he ever would again. The prognosis was about 50/50 if he would need surgery vs crate rest. Even with surgery, the prognosis was only around 50% for a full recovery. We are so happy to report that Diego is a strong little guy who has made a full recovery, AND without the need for surgery! Diego now not only can walk- he can RUN! Diego is a fun and friendly dog, with an independent streak. He's happy for pets, but he also enjoys sniffing and exploring on his own. He is leash trained, and loves to play fetch with the ball (he will even drop it for you to throw again). Diego does well with the other dogs he's met at rescue and could potentially do well with your dog from home too; bring them in for an intro! If you're interested in meeting Diego for adoption, please email us at chitownrescue@gmail.com. Digo weighs approximately 18 pounds. His adoption fee includes neuter surgery, prior vet care, vaccinations up to date, Rabies certificate, and microchip.May 19, 2024, 5:06 am
