Story
Hi, I’m Maple! I came into the rescue as a brand new mama, and let me tell you — I nailed 🔨 the whole “best mom ever” thing. Now that my puppies are all set, it’s finally my turn to shine. I’m about 2 years old, fully vetted (yep, no more babies for me!), and my best guess is that I’m a Border Collie/Pit mix. I’m dog friendly, people friendly, smart, and pretty easygoing. I love to please and I pick up on things quickly, so training and bonding with me will be a breeze. What I want most now is a family who will love me just as much as I’ll love them. I really do deserve my happily-ever-after. Apply to meet me at AZDawgz.org—your new best friend is waiting!

Story
🌸 Hi, I’m Poppy! 🌸 I’m a 1-year-old little lady with a big heart and a serious soft spot for kids. 💕 I love to play, snuggle, and follow my tiny humans everywhere — they’re my favorite thing in the whole world! I get along great with other dogs too and would be happiest in a home with both a pup and a kid (or a few!) to call my best friends. I might be petite, but my love is huge. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal, snuggly sidekick for your family, I’m your girl!

Story
Are you looking for a high-energy, affectionate companion who thrives with structure and enjoys being close to home? Meet Dolly, a lively and loving pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart! Personality & Traits - Dolly is a joyful, energetic girl who loves to stay active and engaged throughout the day. She’s a cheerful chatterbox, expressing herself with grumbles, snorts, yips, and barks. While she has plenty of energy to burn, Dolly is most comfortable in her home environment, where she can play, explore the yard, and then settle in with her people. Training & Behavior - Kennel Trained: Dolly feels safe and relaxed in her kennel, making it her ideal place to unwind. - Basic Commands: She’s eager to learn and enjoys training, though distractions, especially other dogs, can pull her focus. Consistency and positive reinforcement work well for her. - Leash Training: Dolly is still polishing her leash skills and continues to make progress with regular practice. - Watchful Nature: She likes to patrol her space and will alert you to activity around the property, particularly along the fence line. We’re actively working on recall in these moments. Important Home Requirements - No Small Animals or Cats: Due to her strong prey drive, Dolly cannot live with small animals or cats. This is non-negotiable. Quirks & Fun Facts - Paper Products Beware: Dolly finds shredding paper irresistible, so important items should stay out of reach. - Quick Paws: She has a playful habit of grabbing small objects when the opportunity arises. Burying Treats: Dolly enjoys burying her food and treats, showing off her instinctive side. Dog Friendly - Dolly enjoys the company of other dogs but can get overly excited during play and may need reminders to keep things polite. Health & Wellness - Dolly is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She’s healthy and ready to find her forever home. Crowds & Outings - Dolly can become overstimulated in busy or chaotic environments. She does best with planned activity, enrichment, and play at home, rather than frequent trips to crowded public spaces. Ideal Home - Dolly would thrive in an active home with a secure yard where she can run, play, and burn energy daily. She needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation, followed by downtime with her humans. While she’s high energy, she doesn’t need to be taken everywhere to be happy. A family that enjoys structured play, training, and cozy evenings at home would be an excellent fit. With proper introductions and patience, she may do well with older, respectful children. Will you be the one to give Dolly the active, loving home she deserves? She’s ready to bring enthusiasm, loyalty, and plenty of affection into your life.   Estimated date of birth is 9/28/2023 and her adoption fee is $200.December 28, 2025, 10:59 am

Story
Meet Gadget! Much like her Chip and Dale namesake, this girl is a fast learner, smart, curious, sweet, athletic, and adventurous. She attaches strongly to her person: Wants lots of snuggles, will follow you around the house, will stay by your side. However, she has a strong prey drive and gets protective of her person. She should not be in a house with small dogs or cats, and we are recommending adults only house at this time. She has strong herding instincts like a border collie or an Australian kelpie. She a tendency to herd even the humans (see cut off when walking), it’s very strong around other dogs. Both breeds are highly intelligent and require mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. She would do best in a house either as an only dog or with dogs her size or larger, that are confident and calm. She will need training and a confident human handler. She seems to know that potty is for outside and is getting better at using the dog door, though she doesn’t like being separated from her human and prefers to be joined outside until she feels secure in a forever home. She goes into a kennel easily and does not bark or whine once there.she also rides in the car well.
