Takani is a 4-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix looking for a loving new home. He is incredibly smart, loyal, affectionate, energetic, and very well trained. He knows basic commands including sit, lay down, speak, and has great house manners. He does very well with children, female dogs, small dogs, and livestock including chickens. Takani is active and would thrive with someone experienced with herding breeds or someone with space for him to run and play. He does not do well with dominant male dogs and would do best in a home without other alpha-type male dogs due to tension and fights that have developed in our current multi-male dog household. He can also be a little skittish or cautious around men at first, but once he warms up, he becomes extremely loving, loyal, and attached. He just needs patience, consistency, and the right environment to feel comfortable. This decision has been extremely difficult because he is truly a good dog and loving companion. 5/30/26: Swish was born on 3/15/26 and is ready to find her forever home. She has a mostly black face with a little bit of white.  She has a white spot between her shoulders that looks like the Nike trademark, so we call her Swish. She and her sister, Britches, are both active and love attention. They spend their time wrestling with each other and their mother.  They also enjoy chasing each other around the yard until they wear themselves out and take long naps.  The puppies like playing with chew toys and balls. When humans are around, they want to be held and petted and are learning to respond to simple commands.
