Takani is a 4-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix looking for a loving new home. He is incredibly smart, loyal, affectionate, energetic, and very well trained. He knows basic commands including sit, lay down, speak, and has great house manners. He does very well with children, female dogs, small dogs, and livestock including chickens. Takani is active and would thrive with someone experienced with herding breeds or someone with space for him to run and play. He does not do well with dominant male dogs and would do best in a home without other alpha-type male dogs due to tension and fights that have developed in our current multi-male dog household. He can also be a little skittish or cautious around men at first, but once he warms up, he becomes extremely loving, loyal, and attached. He just needs patience, consistency, and the right environment to feel comfortable. This decision has been extremely difficult because he is truly a good dog and loving companion.
