Story
Meet Bear! Bear is such a beautiful dog with the sweetest golden brown eyes! He is a 1 year old happy, energetic and very smart Border Collie/German Shepherd mix and is on the smaller size, at 40lbs. We pulled Bear from a Kentucky shelter where he was on the Euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Bear is very playful and loving, and is a great balance of cuddles and adventure! He loves going on walks and running and playing in the back yard, but he also loves to snuggle up at the end of the day! He is learning to walk calmly on a leash, and gets very excited for adventures! Bear is in a Foster home with a cat sister and loves playing with her! He is very gentle and is always interested in hanging out with her! Bear may be best with female dogs as he seems to be selective with some males. He can be timid when meeting new dogs on walks, so he would need proper introductions. Bear's breed does require a lot of exercise, so he would need to have a fully fenced yard and would also require regular walks. Bear is young so adequate exercise keeps him from getting bored and helps him be on his best behavior! He may be a little too much for young children as he still jumps and will need to be trained so that he understands not to jump and other basic manners. He would also do best in a family that is very active! Bear is crate trained and potty trained, and is eager to learn new things! If you are interested in meeting Bear, you can fill out an application here and we can schedule a meet and greet! https://www.coopersafeplace.org/application-page Bear's adoption fee is $450 and due on the day of adoption.

Story
Meet Idris, the dapper gentleman with a heart of gold! Despite his tough start, this charming pup hasn't lost his zest for life. Rescued as a stray, he's now ready to find his forever home and fill it with endless love and tail wags. In the bustling kennel, Idris remains remarkably strong and silent, but don't be fooled! Beneath that composed demeanor lies a deep desire for affection. He may not bark it from the rooftops, but his subtle gestures speak volumes-just watch as he shyly nudges closer, silently asking for cuddles. With a twinkle in his eye, Idris yearns for human companionship and a cozy spot to call his own. Whether it's a leisurely stroll in the park or a lazy afternoon snuggled up on the couch, he's ready to be your faithful sidekick through it all. If Idris has stolen your heart (and let's face it, how could he not?), don't hesitate to fill out an adoption application on our website or visit the shelter to meet him in person. Together, you'll create a happily ever after filled with love, laughter, and plenty of paw prints!

Story
Meet Daisy. She is a 38 pound, two-year-old Border Collie who loves everyone she meets. Daisy was rescued from a high-intake shelter where she spent the last few months. She is spayed, up to date on shots and looking for her forever home. Daisy is house trained and knows some basic commands. She responds when her name is called and to a gentle whistle. We have been working on leash training and her progress improves with each passing day. She also loves squeaky toys and chasing balls in the backyard. Daisy is dog friendly but she likes a slow calm meeting to get started. We are not sure about cats but based on her interest in chasing squirrels we don’t think a home with cats would be ideal. She is very quiet and this includes the time she spends in her crate. She does need to be coaxed inside with a treat but once there she stays without protest. She mostly wants to be where her people are and to be showered with attention. She will nudge your hand when she wants to be petted. If you are interested in meeting Daisy please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org

Story
Hi, Name is Chip! I'm the type of dog that is gonna take time to get to know. I'm mostly scared and confused in being here. I'm not happy in my kennel so I do bark at you. You have to bribe me with hotdogs to get me to trust you. Once I get out on leash I'm fine but it still takes time for me to adjust. We don't know much about chip but to greet with other dogs is a must and to be tested around cats. I would say no to kids. Any additional information about me please ask the people in the office. To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-6pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. You may also submit an application online from our website at http://www.HelpTheAnimalsINC.com/adopt.

I have become Disabled and am not able to walk her.I live in an apartment and my son was taking care of her and had to vacate his home and he dropped her off here.I cannot Walk her.I cannot take her xxxx@xxxx.x this is not fair to her. Nylah is timid. She is afraid of strangers. Once she gets to know you she is the most sweet loving playful dog. But she was abused as a puppy and will take a lot of patience to get her used to a new home. Please don't let this put you off. Because she is a wonderful dog. She is loyal. She is protective, she likes small children. And is used to being with other dogs. Please If I do not find Her a home quick.I am going to have to have her put down and she does not deserve that
