Story
Fenrir is a very sweet ~9 year old puppy who loves snuggles and attention. He has been a part of our family for nearly a decade but due to a recent move and allergies in the home we are looking to re-home him. He is very smart, trainable, and loving - but has minimal socializing with other dogs so he leads by barking. Despite a loud bark, he's never been aggressive towards other dogs. He does well with cats and kids. He loves to run free in a fenced in backyard but also does well on a leash. A small quirk is that he HATES trains. We moved near train tracks and he will bark/howl through the night if he hears one (and with those ears he hears EVERYTHING). We also have allergies in the house and he requires a lot of grooming upkeep due to his coat. He is a very good boy and it was with a heavy heart we made this decision. Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. We adopted Oreo from the Sharonville SPCA seven years ago when she was two. Everyone who meets her says she is beautiful, but her calm, gentle nature is what truly makes her special. Oreo rarely barks; silence is her default state. She won't make a sound when guests arrive or ring the doorbell. The only time she raises her voice is late at night if she senses a potential intruder. When visitors come over, she politely sniffs them for a moment, then quietly returns to her spot. She gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, children, and adults. Ever watchful, Oreo acts like a peacekeeper, keeping an eye on everyone to make sure no one gets too rowdy or naughty. When she needs to go outside to relieve herself, she communicates her needs clearly without making a fuss. Now nine years old, Oreo remains extremely healthy and doesn't need any medication. She is a loyal, quiet, and playful companion. She will tell u if she needs to go out for popo or pepe.Her face is excellent communicator...

Hi! My name is Banjo. I am a very sweet timid guy. I need the extra attention just to loosen up a little. I am timid when trying to get leashed, but I am not aggressive at all. I love treats an any food that comes at me. I do fine on leash and wouldn't mind going on a short walk nearby or let me roam in a play yard. I like attention and scratches on the head and back. I do fine with other dogs but a meet and greet is always a must. I should be fine around kids but prefer older children. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there... I'm Dixie. I'm quite literally the best girl, according to the staff and volunteers here at the rescue. About me: I LOVE the water—I could swim all day! I'm fully potty and house trained, and I'll even let you know when I need to go outside by crying at the door. I walk nicely on a leash and absolutely love playing fetch (at least until my age catches up with me!). I get along wonderfully with other dogs, know my name, and have excellent recall. Here at the rescue, I even enjoy off-leash walks because I stay close and always come back when I'm called. I am a quiet, gentle soul looking for a forever home to call my own. While I may be a little older, I still enjoy playing with my toys and spending time with other dogs when the mood strikes. My journey here has been quite the adventure. During a big storm, the local fire department found me in the water and brought me to the rescue. They later realized they had actually been trying to catch me for months, believing I was a stray. But it turns out I wasn't always on my own. I once had a loving owner, but after he passed away, I was given away because his mother was no longer able to care for me due to her own health challenges. I'm already spayed, fully vaccinated, 4DX tested (positive for heartworm), and up to date on my ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. I am heartworm positive right now, but I’ve already started treatment. I’ve been on antibiotics and am going through the ProHeart 12 protocol approved by the American Heartworm Society. The good news is that with this treatment, I should test negative in about 8–10 months. My adoption fee is $250, and you can apply to adopt me at www.adoggie4you.org. I'm currently in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Hi, Frens! I’m Pipi Halpert! (Pronounced: Peepee, IYKYK, Office fans!)   I’m a 29lb gal that doesn’t have much to say…literally, I have not said a dang word since I’ve arrived beginning of June. Not a peep(ee) out of me! I’m so content just hanging around you while you clean the house or tend to your garden! I stay unbothered by the 4 resident dogs (6lbs-35lbs, 3-14 age range) I’ve been around…and believe me, the 2 geriatric dogs have tried to test me I’ve started showing my playful/zoomy side in the backyard with them and it’s gone well but I do prefer chillin more than you’d think with me being a “herding” breed. I KNOW RIGHT?!, foster Mom was also surprised by this! I’m such a tame little lady! I don’t make accidents, I’m crate trained, I like to hang, I’m dog friendly, AND cute as a button?! Do I need someone that’s going to help me build confidence? Yes. I am timid still on walks around the quiet neighborhood because I’m just a girl! But my foster Mom says if she didn’t already have 4 dogs, she’d keep me because I’m basically perfect If you’re lookin for the sweetest, calmest, pocket sized dog, I’m you’re girl All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.
