This is Hamburgler, “Hammy”! He is quite literally a perfect, young dog. And that’s coming from a foster who’s had hundreds of dogs come thru her home. Hammy is a young, male, border collie/ hound mix. He’s apx 50#, tall, lean and easily groomed. Hammy is so smart, but not in a way that he has to be constantly entertained or has destructive habits. He will happily play in the yard by himself or with others as long as you let him! Hammy is a balanced dog. He has self-control, listens, and is eager to learn new tricks. Hammy loves other dogs and his people. He is potty trained, crate trained, won’t chew his bed, walks well on a leash, meets new people/dogs easily. He’s perfect! If you are looking for an easy dog, with no drama, no baggage. Look no further than Hamburgler at Adopt A Pit Rescue!!!! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. LUCY is one stunning floof. She's a 1 year old 27 pound (fully grown) mixed breed girl. Lucy is lively, friendly and fun. She's a Heinz 57-varieties type mixed breed girl. She has some herding tendencies and runs like a sighthound. Border Collie/Whippet? Plus 6 other breeds? We have no clue. We do know she's an active girl who loves to run and play. Plus she's a cheerful friendly dog who poses for photos like a supermodel. Lucy landed in a rural shelter because her family moved and left her behind to wander and fend for herself. Lucy is best suited to an active home with a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet Lucy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Lucy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Freya is a fantastic 1 year old blue heeler. I got her when she was 2 months old but soon after became pregnant with my first child and my partner and I simply do not have the time or energy to give her the exercise and enrichment she needs. She is extremely smart, but also stubborn and needs lots of exercise and enrichment which is why she needs an experienced owner. She currently lives with my saint bernard and two cats. However, she has snapped at dogs she is not familiar with so I believe she will need time to adjust to a new dog and cats she is okay with but will most likely need an adjustment period with them as well. She really is a great dog, we just cannot give her what she needs at the moment.
