Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. I love treats an any food that comes at me. I do fine on leash and wouldn't mind going on a short walk nearby or let me roam in a play yard. I like attention and scratches on the head and back. This adorable girl is full of personality and ready to steal your heart! She is a playful pup who absolutely loves having a doggy friend to romp around with, and she has been having a blast with her foster family’s resident dog. When playtime is over, she’s more than happy to curl up for some serious snuggles. She has also been wonderful with her foster family’s kids, ages 12 and 14, making her a fun and loving addition to the family. Like any young pup, she’s still working on a few things. She is continuing to learn her potty-training skills, isn’t quite comfortable walking on a leash yet, and is still learning that her crate is a safe and cozy place to be. The good news? She has already made progress and is no longer barking when she has to go in! With her playful personality, love of cuddles, and absolutely adorable face, she’s sure to make someone a wonderful companion. She just needs a family willing to keep helping her learn and grow!

Kids that are 5 and up she does best with, as they understand to give her space and read her body language best. Being in a busy home seems to cause her overstimulation. We just want her to find the right family home .
