Story
Look at those cute freckles on his nose! Ludington is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 38 pounds. Ludington is a playful, wiggly, and loveable young pup who is full of energy and enthusiasm. He has the cutest bouncy prance while playing fetch, you can tell he is just so darn happy doing it. He also loves being close to you, just leaning in and using his gorgeous soulful eyes to connect with you. What a good boy too, he has a perfect sit and sits for everything, wanting to please you. Ludington loves to go in the car and makes a great copilot, he is going to someone such a wonderful best friend. An experienced adopter who can provide leadership and confidence building is just what he needs. He also needs a home where any children are at least 8 years old as he can still be a little mouthy when he is excited. Ludington can’t wait to find his forever family and fill their lives with love and all his goofiness! If you are interested in Ludington and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Rylee needs lots of exercise and play. She is very loyal and clingy. She gets anxious at times and is not real fond of visitors. She loves playing with her ball and will run and jump all day if you let her. She is used to a quiet house, but loves to be outdoors. We are in a condo and we feel she needs a yard for play and exercise. She was supposed to be company for my wife who has a neurological condition, but Rylee is a little over a year old and much too active for my wife to handle.

Hi! I was brought in as a stray and never claimed. I am still a puppy with lots of energy to exert. I would do best in a home with an owner willing to train me and help me figure out right from wrong. I am happy go lucky, and such a loving girl.

Story
Weebles is a 6-month old neutered male border collie/bully mix (his parentage is known). His date of birth is November 12, 2023 - and we actually know his date of birth which is very unusual in rescue! Weebles was adopted as a young puppy but after a few months his owners decided that a young, energetic puppy was not what they wanted in life as they did not have the time or energy to focus on training him. Weebles is a sweetheart of a dog and is always up for an adventure! Weebles is a very energetic little dude weighing in at 36 pounds currently, and will probably top out at 40-50 pounds fully grown. He is house and crate trained and LOVES to rough-house with other dogs; he is respectful of dog-savvy cats but if he knows he can make a cat run, he thinks this is a very fun game and loves to antagonize more fearful cats so he can turn it into a game of chase. Weebles is very smart and enjoys learning new things with treats and toys being his reward. He enjoys meeting new people and going for walks and runs. Weebles is a sweet, sweet boy who deserves to find a forever-home!

Story
Pepper was born to a GSP Mama in TN and moved up here for rehoming with her 8 siblings. When I got her she was 12 lbs. I did a dna test and will share with adopter. She is very smart, sitting at the door to go out from day 1. I thought she had to have her rabies shot before going into a training program, so trained as best as I could. I have since found that to be untrue. She was born 12-23-2023, so is 5+ months old. She is very strong and has easily kocked me over. I cannot risk injury to myself but the main desire is for Pepper to live the full life she so deserves. I am willing to donate crates, toys, harness, leashes. Older and trained, she has endless possibilities. I will cry when she is adopted, as she is very much loved but I know this is in the best interest of Pepper💔

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment.
