Story
Meet Punky B! She’s a young   pup on the hunt for a wonderful forever family! Punky B  is looking for a new home that is committed to providing love and guidance so she can grow up to be a wonderful, well-behaved dog. Punky B   loves to play with toys and give kisses. Sh   e would love to go to reward based training classes so she can spend time with her new family while working on puppy biting, house training, crate training, playing, and how to be the best puppy she can! Punky B  is expected to be a large dog, so please take that into consideration when adopting. If you're ready for a lifelong commitment, please fill out an application and someone from CCRC will be in touch. We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   April 14, 2024, 10:40 am

Rambo Is a 10 week old Border Collie Mix puppy. NO WE DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MIXED WITH. Just like all of our puppies he was placed in a wonderful foster home (not shelter) receiving LOVE and proper socialization, basic commands and started on their potty training. He is GREAT with children as well as other dogs, cats and kids. He loves toys and cuddles. He will make a Great family pet. Here is what the foster says about him… This is Rambo. Rambo is EXTREMELY shy. We have had for a week and he is just now comfortable with us petting him. His tail is wagging all the time, but he will definitely need a warm up period. Rambo is crate trained, and he actually prefers to spend time in his crate just chilling out. Rambo loves toys, and he puts all of his toys in his crate with him lol. Rambo is very good with his pee pads and with other dogs. He is a sweetie and we believe that once he gets to his forever home and gets comfortable, he is going to be so much fun!! He is up to date on age Appropriate vaccines and Dewormed. Story
This beautiful girl was dumped off in the country where she stayed waiting for her owner to come back for a week. Most times she laid in the road and people had to drive around her. After a week someone called us and we went to get her. She is not only beautiful, but she is also smart and sweet. Unfortunately, she tested positive for heartworms when we took her to the vet. That was four months ago. She has now been fully treated and is ready to live a long, happy, healthy life with her new family. Irelyn is spayed and UTD on all vaccines. She loves walks, is good in the car and is housetrained. She is a dominant female so a home with easy going males would be fine. She loves to be brushed and enjoys zoomies around the yard. If you would like to add the special girl to your forever family, please contact dogs4mylife@gmail.com or omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send our info, application and additional pics.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!).
