Story
Meet Harley!Harley is a 1 year old Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix with a heart as big as his paws. He currently weighs about 55 lbs—and he’s still growing! This sweet, affectionate, and loyal boy loves being close to his people. He can be a little nervous when meeting new folks, so slow introductions are important. He hasn’t spent time around young children, so we’re looking for a home with no kids under 15.Harley is an active pup who needs an active adopter or family that can match his energy. He loves toys—if you bring him a new one, you’re instantly his best friend. Harley also does wonderful in the car and enjoys car rides. He is the perfect adventure buddy! He’s dog-selective and isn’t a fan of small dogs or cats. He does best with larger dogs and would love a confident canine companion close to his size.A fenced-in yard is a must for Harley. He thrives outdoors and would be happiest with space to run, play, and soak up the sun.Harley has so much potential and just needs the right environment to shine. Could that be with you?Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
***Coudie is in a foster home, so she is not at the kennel. If you are interested in her, please fill out the application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you.*** There are no words for such cuteness! Cloudie is estimated to be about 4 months old and weighs 13 pounds right now. Cloudie is a sweetie who is full of love, energy and curiosity. She's a playful, affectionate, and connecting pup who loves to be in your lap. With her adorable puppy eyes, Cloudie will just melt your heart. She does the cutest play bows, but she can be a bit more serious when she is unsure about something. Cloudie is looking for guidance and checks in with you for reassurance. Cloudie will need a family who is prepared for the upfront time required for a puppy, as they need structure, positive socialization, and basic obedience to be successful. Cloudie is also a herding breed, so she will require an adopter who understands herding dog traits such as their need for mental and physical stimulation, as well as their tendency to herd and nip at people and other animals. If you're looking for a fun, furry friend who will always be by your side, Cloudie is the perfect pup for you. She will need a home where any children are at lease 8 years old. If you are interested in Cloudie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
