Handsome Hamish! He is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 61 pounds. Hamish is a delightful young boy with a playful spirit, a loving heart, and an intelligent gaze. He loves to be given toys to fetch (especially the Kong Wubba toy), which he drops nicely, and knows a variety of commands including sit, down, and paw. His herding breed instincts mean he’s always eager to learn new tricks, he is such a smartie! While he is incredibly affectionate and attentive, it does take him just a little time to trust and warm up to you, but once he knows that you love him, he's your friend for life. Hamish would be the perfect companion for someone who is ready to give him all the love he deserves. He for sure has that playful and adventurous side and would suit an active home with someone who understands the exercise and mental stimulation he needs as a herding dog. Hamish will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. He would love it if you came to meet him! If you are interested in Hamish and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. She loves other dogs and everyone she meets! Not sure how she would do with cats, but seems to be respectful of other animals, but very playful. She has been great at the dog park and loves all the other dogs! She is housebroken and will go in her crate, but doesn’t love to spend too much time there. She is young and enjoys exercise, but is making progress on her training. She is smart and eager to please. He currently weighs about 55 lbs—and he’s still growing!This sweet, affectionate, and loyal boy loves being close to his people. He can be a little nervous when meeting new folks, so slow introductions are important. He hasn’t spent time around young children, so we’re looking for a home with no kids under 15.Harley is an active pup who needs an active adopter or family that can match his energy. He loves toys—if you bring him a new one, you’re instantly his best friend.He’s dog-selective and isn’t a fan of small dogs or cats. He does best with larger dogs and would love a confident canine companion close to his size.A fenced-in yard is a must for Harley. He thrives outdoors and would be happiest with space to run, play, and soak up the sun.Harley has so much potential and just needs the right environment to shine.
