Story
Meet Craig! Curious and kind, this five-month-old, 40-pound border collie/lab mix is longing for a family that will adore him. He arrived at GLDR with his sister Clementine and the two of them are hoping to say so long to kennel living and hello to happier days ahead! Craig is a gentleman who enjoys his treats and always takes them gently. He's the best brother for Clementine and always helps to put her at ease. Craig may be on the coy side at first, but he's starting to be curious about toys and it's so much fun watching him play ball or tug on his rope toy. We look forward to get to know him even better in the days to come! Adopting a puppy is a long-term commitment that takes a lot of patience and dedication. Craig will need a family that has the ability to provide training and encouragement to help him build his confidence in his new home. Though we can't say for sure, when fully grown, we estimate he may be upwards of 60 pounds. We think he'll thrive in a home that can provide daily exercise, structure, and a yard to enjoy. Based on our evaluation, we feel Craig would do best in an active home with adults or family with kids of any age. He may have the ability to live in a home with other animals as he gets along very well with his sister. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Craig could be the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our handsome heartthrob!

Story
Meet Clementine! Timid and tender-hearted, this five-month-old, 35-pound border collie/pointer mix is longing for a family that will treasure her. She arrived at GLDR with her brother Craig and the two of them are hoping to say so long to kennel living and hello to happier days ahead! Clementine is a gentle girl who does the most adorable tippy taps when she's excited. She is very food-motivated and always takes her treats nicely. Clementine absolutely adores her brother and the two of them enjoy each others company. Though she may be on the shy side, once she lends you her paw in friendship, it'll be a done deal. After playtime is done, Clementine is known to enjoy a nice nap. After all- it's exhausting being that cute! Adopting a puppy is a long-term commitment that takes a lot of patience and dedication. Clementine will need a family that has the ability to provide training and encouragement to help her build her confidence in her new home. Though we can't say for sure, when fully grown, we estimate she may be upwards of 60 pounds. We think she'd thrive in a home that can provide daily exercise, structure, and a yard to enjoy. Based on our evaluation, we feel Clementine would do best in an active home with adults or family with kids of any age. She may benefit from having another confident dog in the home as she often finds comfort with her brother. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Clementine could be the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our darling girl!

Story
Someone only wants to be close to you! Flash is estimated to about a year old and weighs 31 pounds. Here are some nice facts about him: So lovable Velcro dog A little insecure Most comfortable curled up in your lap Likes to lean in and give kisses Chocolatey cutie A little nervous at first but warms up quickly Afraid of toys Can be bouncy if he is afraid of something, but can quickly understand the item or situation is safe Adopter will need to have the time and patience upfront to focus on positive socialization and trust Seems to have working breed intelligence and traits Great eye contact and looking for leadership and direction An active home and mental stimulation will be important to Flash Will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old with his timid nature Just wants a family to love him If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Flash would love to meet them. He has an open, loose approach with other dogs, but he is more interested in people. If you are interested in Flash and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
