We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 75-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 dog/cat that you are interested in.-Attach a copy of proof of home ownership (i.e. tax bill, deed, or mortgage payment – you can black out the account #, etc.) or animal clause/agreement of your rental agreement. This must be in a .jpeg format. If you are unable to send in this format, please be prepared to provide this documentation in another way prior to adoption.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other dogs/cats. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
JoJo is a 1.5 year old Border Collie who loves to have fun. This handsome boy is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is also HW tested negative and microchipped. Jojo was surrendered to us because he killed a neighbors chicken, so a no chicken home is a must. He lived outside all day and came in to a crate at night. JoJo is a sweet, happy boy that would love to be part of an active family. Obedience was a breeze for him and his recall is improving every day. JoJo likes to fetch a ball and swim every chance he gets. He is highly intelligent and athletic and would excel in any dog sport especially agility, flyball, dock diving, and frisbee. Although he does not potty in the house, he should be supervised until he can be fully trusted indoors on his own. JoJo will require lots of exercise and mental stimulation to keep him well behaved, so no apartment life and no couch potatoes. For more info on JoJo, or for an application, please contact omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Abner came to us after being given away on social media at just 4 weeks old. He is now 6.5 months old and ready to find a forever home. He is about 35 lbs and growing. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, preventions and chipped. He is a fun pup who loves to play with his foster friends and toys. He would be a great addition to any family. He is being housed in Tennessee right now but no worries because we use Rescue Riders Pet Transport who alternate going to the Northeast and the Great Lakes every weekend.

Story
Athens TN, out of state adopters welcomed and transport may be available for additional fee. Meet the Valentines Babies! Momma is a black mouth cur and we have no idea what daddy is. Momma was set to be euthanized at our local shelter in Cleveland TN. She was pregnant and so emaciated you couldn’t tell she was pregnant. She had her babies a week after she was out. She is looking for her furever home too. They are all super cute and a precious little family. They will all be looking for their furever homes very soon. They are weaning now and once they are six weeks old they will get their first DHPP and then at eight weeks their second DHPP and Bordetella and they will be altered around that time. They will continue to receive third and fourth rounds of DHPP if they are not adopted prior to their time to get them. They have been dewormed every two weeks and will continue to do this. They will come with their vet records, leash, collar, toys, toy box, canned pumpkin, a new dog bed in a box and a little food to help you transition to the food of your choice. Kisses is a sweet little lady that likes to cuddle and be with you. She’s not super shy and not super outgoing she falls in the middle. Cute as ever Please apply at petpath.org Transport available to your area and is included in the adoption fee listed here. We use rescue riders for all our transport needs because they are awesome with our pups!
