Clara has officially decided that her next chapter should contain three things: people, playtime, and an unreasonable amount of attention. Approx. 4yrs old, this girl is SUPER friendly, affectionate, & energetic. She loves her humans wholeheartedly and has absolutely no problem making sure you know when she would like more love. (Hint: it’s pretty much always.) Clara doesn’t mind cats, and she would love a dog sibling to run, play and hang out with. Without one, she’ll happily make YOU her best friend—and possibly her hobby. She’s still working on crate training and will need a family willing to be patient and continue helping her learn that being alone is safe. She’s made great progress as she’s settled into her new life. Clara is playful, goofy, incredibly loving and ready for a home where she can finally be somebody’s girl. Beatrix is her name, but her friends call her Bea. And much like Junie B. Jones, she’s sassy, hilarious, and a little strong-willed. 😉 Bea is a 55-pound, 1½-year-old Border Collie mix who was found roaming the streets last winter when she was just a young pup. Now she’s ready for a family of her own and she has plenty of personality to bring with her! Bea loves a good game of tug, is one of the most popular dogs at doggie daycare, and is quite the smarty-pants. She learns quickly and is SO fun to train! She’ll play fetch, join you for a run, or happily accept belly rubs on the couch - when I say accept, you don’t have much of a choice in the matter. 🤣 She bonds quickly with her people, and once you’re her person, you’ll have a little shadow following you around the house, eager to see what you’re doing and how she can join in. She’s also potty trained and kennel trained! Bea does have some stranger danger and a tendency to guard her people and home. Her breed traits and background likely play a role in that - she’s an observant, sensitive girl who sometimes feels like keeping watch is her job. She’s making progress every day and has come SO far compared to eight months ago, but she still needs management, continued training, and slow introductions to new people and dogs. Bea gets along with kids, too! A home with children would need to be very dog savvy, with adults who can reliably manage doors and visitors. Kids opening the door for a friend or accidentally letting someone unfamiliar inside could put Bea in a situation she isn’t ready to handle. Her ideal family will be experienced, patient, and willing to keep helping her feel safe. Free training is provided after adoption so her new family has support along the way! This athletic girl would love a tall, secure fence or room to explore safely on some land, along with opportunities to exercise her busy brain and body. Bea is longing to be part of a family. If you like your dogs smart, affectionate, and just a little sassy, she might be your girl. ❤️

Archie is a 3-year-old Border Collie who came to me as a stray, and I have had him for about two years. He is loving, affectionate, playful, intelligent, and very people-oriented. He loves meeting new friends, cuddling, fetch, walks, hikes, and especially training activities that make him feel like he has a job to do. He has completed extensive professional training, and his trainer is willing to provide a transition lesson with his new owners. Archie has done well with both large and small dogs and has a great balance of energy and calm. He can happily keep up with adventures and active play, but also settles easily at home. Like many herding breeds, he can become very focused on moving things such as cars, cats, and squirrels. I am looking for a loving, active home that will appreciate his intelligence, affection, and playful personality and continue providing exercise, structure, and engagement.

Mango has been in her foster home for a short time and the reports are glowing! She is the perfect mix in many ways - perfect mix of chill and energy, perfect mix of independence and affectionate and then, of course, the perfect mix of breed! Mango gets along with the resident dogs and cats in her foster home and that makes her an easy intro into many homes. She is truly an all-around great dog. Since many folks are interested in back stories, Mango came to TARA after being found as a stray at an area shelter. Staff realized that she’d stayed there previously and, upon contacting the adopter, learned that she’d been given away. TARA stepped in to find her forever family. With regard to her unique eye, Mango has scar tissue in anterior chamber behind the cornea of her right eye, likely due to an old trauma. At this time there is no recommended treatment. Her vision is impaired and could be blind in that eye. Her family would just need to be aware that she needs to be set up for success with her limited sight and know she is a bit head shy. Mango is well behaved in the house and sleeps in a kennel through the night without a peep. She walks well on a leash but may pull if she sees a squirrel or another dog. She would love a fenced yard to explore and another playful dog in the home, but as easy going Mango truly is, these are just nice to haves. She will fit in anywhere and be your best friend!
