Story
What’s up, future bestie? I’m Billy, a 20-month-old Dutch Shepherd/Border Collie mix (yes, I swear the Dutch Shepherd is in there somewhere). I’m here to tell you why adopting me will be the most chaotic—and BEST—decision of your life. First things first: I’ve got boundless energy. Like, forget the Energizer Bunny—I’m on a whole other level. Some might say I’m “on crack” (but legally, it’s just my personality). I’m basically a dog-shaped Velociraptor with an Olympic-level zoomie game. If you’ve got a dog who loves to play and can match my level of insanity, we’ll be BFFs in no time. 🦖🐾 Cats? Meh, not really my vibe—unless your cat is super dog-savvy and can handle my velociraptor energy.
Small dogs? Nah, they’re not ready for this jelly.
Big dogs who love chaos? YES, LET’S GO. Now, about strangers... they’re weird, and I’m not always sure how I feel about them at first. But once I figure out they’re cool, I’m all in. Just give me a little time to warm up, and I’ll be their favorite Velociraptor, too. What else? Oh, yeah—I LOVE to play. Fetch? Yes. Tug? Yes. Games that haven’t been invented yet? Also yes. I’m always ready to go-go-go, and I need a human who’s just as excited about adventure as I am. Hiking, running, or just wearing each other out in the backyard—sign me up. So, if you’ve got energy for days, a sense of humor, and no small creatures who’ll scream when I zoom, let’s do this. Adopt me, and I’ll make your life as exciting as a Jurassic Park sequel (without the dinos eating people, I promise). Adopt Billy—because life is better with a little chaos. 🐾🦴

Story
Adorable Puppy Alert! Say hello to Cricket, an awesome 10 month old little girl who is just 22 pounds! She has a happy and joyful personality and absolutely loves everyone she meets. We think she's a small Border Collie mix and will likely be 30 pounds when she's fully grown. She has a beautiful black coat with the cutest white socks and white markings on her chest. Cricket is living with a great Foster family who share this info: "Cricket is that joyful spark who turns every room into a playground and every moment into a chance to learn something new! With her cheerful energy and soulful eyes, she’s quick to make human hearts melt, especially if there’s a toy in the mix. Tug ropes, chew toys, and a good game of fetch? Those are Cricket's ultimate treasures. While she can get a little jumpy with excitement, she listens well and settles down quickly, already showing she’s a superstar in the making when it comes to training. With her eagerness to please, she’s more than ready to keep learning through positive reinforcement. Cricket thrives in environments where she gets regular attention and affection, whether she’s romping around with a canine buddy or soaking up the spotlight as the only pup. House-trained, crate-trained, microchipped, spayed, and up to date on her vaccines, Cricket is ready to step into a new chapter of life with a new loving family. She’d be most compatible in a home with a fenced yard where she can safely stretch her legs and explore but that's not a deal breaker, an apartment with long walks would be nice also. Whether you’re looking for a hiking partner, a couch companion, or a tug-of-war champion, Cricket is all ears (literally and figuratively)!" Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com or call 516-459-3509) to get lots more info on this sweet little girl!

Story
Meet Sadie!   Sadie is a cutie pie from Puerto Rico! She may be a little shy at first, but this sweet girl has a quiet courage that truly shines once she feels safe. While she’s not a fan of the crate, she’s happiest curled up right beside you, keeping you company during a cozy night of TV. Despite her timid nature, she’s incredibly brave—she confidently rides the subway, visits the office, and happily tags along on daily adventures with her foster. She’s low maintenance and strikes a perfect balance between affectionate and independent, offering love without being overly demanding. She’s also doing great with pee pads, making her an easy fit for apartment living. With a gentle heart and a loyal spirit, she’s ready to find a home where she can continue to grow and feel secure. Story
Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🧡 Meet Ma-eum A gentle soul learning to love again Ma-eum spent his early years tied outside on a farm, living in fear. He was abused by a male owner and frightened by children who threw balls at him. Because of that, he is still afraid of men, loud playground sounds, and the sight of bouncing toys. But despite all this, Ma-eum has the gentlest heart. For the past two years, he has been living in a patient and loving foster home. He has made slow, steady progress — on his terms — and is now ready for the next chapter of his life. 🧬 Personality Ma-eum is a quiet, thoughtful boy with a soft energy. He feels safest around gentle women with warm voices, and he truly thrives in calm, peaceful homes. He may keep his distance from men indoors, but sometimes shows more courage when outdoors. He isn’t the kind of dog who will run into your arms — but with time and patience, he’ll follow you anywhere. He enjoys peaceful walks, nosework games, gentle pets, and long naps by your side. He doesn't bark much, and he waits quietly when left alone after a short adjustment. 🏡 At Home ✅ House-trained (prefers peeing on vertical surfaces — his foster can provide wall-to-floor pads) ✅ Good with calm dogs (interested and social but may growl at overly excited dogs) ✅ Neutral to cats (no strong prey drive) ✅ Tolerates children (nervous around fast movements but never aggressive) ✅ Excellent in the car ✅ Loves brushing and gentle touch 🚫 Afraid of balls and squeaky toys — he prefers games with treats instead 💛 Ma-eum is looking for… A family who will let him set the pace. Someone who doesn’t expect instant cuddles but understands how meaningful it is when a shy dog chooses to stay close. Ideally, a female adopter or a quiet household with gentle energy. 📦 Foster home can provide pee pad setup 📍 Adoption includes interview & home check 📩 If Ma-eum’s story touched your heart, we’d love to tell you more. He’s been waiting a long time for someone who sees past the fear — and into his true, beautiful heart

Because of long-term confinement and frequent relocations, she began showing stress-related repetitive behaviors. Since moving into a stable foster home, she has improved so much 🌿 She feels safest resting in small, cozy spaces and has learned what it means to live in a home. Collie doesn’t demand attention or constant affection. She is quiet, gentle, and low-maintenance 🕊️ We are looking for a family who can love her just as she is. ────────────────── 🐶 Personality & Social Skills ✔️ Good with other dogs 🐕 ⚠️ Chases cats 🐱 ⚡ Medium energy 🤲 Can be handled 🔕 Rarely barks (and even then, softly) 🚪 Escape caution needed — secure home required ────────────────── 🏡 Training & Lifestyle 🚽 Outdoor potty trained (can use pads if urgent) 🏠 Comfortable in a crate 🦮 Walks nicely on leash 🎗 No leash reactivity to people or dogs 🚗 Rides well in the car 🧸 No destructive behavior 🍽 No appetite issues ────────────────── 🏠 Home Environment 🏢 Apartment living: Possible 🌿 Yard: Would be nice, not required 🐾 Only dog or multi-dog home: Both okay She may not show big, dramatic affection, but she loves treats 🍪 and even comes to greet her foster in the mornings ☀️ Her puppies have already found their families. Now it’s Mama Collie’s turn 💛 All she needs is a warm corner of a home and someone willing to give her quiet understanding 🏡✨ Please give Collie the chance she has never had 🖤

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Samoa (AL): A Little Cookie With OceanBlue EyesAllow me to introduce Samoa, a fourweekold darling who looks like she was handcrafted by someone who really loves making perfect puppies. Her striking blue eyes shimmer against her soft brownandwhite coat, giving her a look that’s both whimsical and unforgettable. Samoa came into rescue with her mom and her littermates, all now safe and thriving. Her mother is a Border Collie mix, and although her father didn’t stay long enough to be identified, we’re fairly certain he contributed a touch of Australian Shepherd charm to her beautiful features. Whatever the mix, it created one truly enchanting little girl. Even at this tiny age, Samoa is already showing her gentle, affectionate nature. She enjoys being scooped up, welcomes attention from people young and old, and interacts wonderfully with other dogs. She’s playful in that wiggly, innocent puppy way, full of sweetness and curiosity. She’s blossoming in rescue, but what she needs next is a family ready to guide her, adore her, and watch her grow into the extraordinary dog she’s meant to be. If Samoa has captured your heart — and she tends to do that instantly — you can apply to adopt her at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.  Samoa will fill your home with warmth from the moment she arrives. Samoa's adoption fee is $575.Please be sure to reference this pet's name as Samoa (AL) in case of duplicate names within the rescue. Thank you!RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 1:58 am
