Meet Aesop – A Tiny Survivor with a Big Personality Approximately 3 Months Old Female (Not yet) Border Collie Mix 5.5kg | 33cm shoulder height Aesop’s story began in a shelter after her Border Collie mother was brought in while pregnant in February. Sadly, out of three puppies born at the shelter, only one survived — little Aesop. Despite such a difficult beginning, she has grown into a bright, affectionate, and confident puppy full of life and love. ‍‍ Social with People Aesop is an incredibly social and people-loving puppy. She happily approaches both familiar people and strangers, enjoys affection from everyone, and easily allows handling. She loves both men and women, enjoys being picked up, and will even roll over to show her belly to people she has just met. Social with Other Dogs She is equally friendly with other dogs and loves to greet and play with everyone she meets. Even large dogs don’t intimidate her — she confidently bounces right in to play! She may act fearless with other dogs, but when playing with her mom, she quickly rolls over belly-up like the sweetest little daughter. Cats Her reaction to cats has not yet been observed, but cat testing can be arranged. Energy Level Aesop has a typical puppy energy level. She enjoys running around and playing, but also sleeps a lot and settles down nicely after activity. Walks She has not yet had formal walks outdoors due to her young age. Other Notes No food guarding toward people or other dogs Calm and quiet inside a kennel/crate Currently uses both pee pads indoors and pottys outdoors She does show some mild separation anxiety at first and may bark when initially left alone, though she typically begins adjusting after a few days. Continued training and gradual independence practice will help her build confidence. Like many smart puppies, Aesop can also be a little vocal when she wants something! Say Hello to Julian! (Born 8/30/2024) he is 34 pounds of sweetness! We guess he might be a Smooth Coated Border Collie mix. Julian came to us from a situation where nervous energy surrounded him, and like the sensitive guy he is, he absorbed some of that. But good news! With patience, consistency, and plenty of encouragement (especially when treats are involved), he’s been making wonderful progress since arriving here. Understandably, city sounds and the hustle bustle are overwhelming to Julian, so we are looking for a home in a quieter area. Julian really enjoys treats, one on one time, playing with other dogs and we are seeking a home for him with a yard where he can stretch his long legs and enjoy the fresh air. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. **Located in Korea** Finishing heartworm treatment. Rescued from the local shelter in South Korea the same day he was scheduled to be euthanized. He is estimated to be up to 2 years old and looks like a Border Collie and Jindomix. He is not very interested in playing with other dogs and is more interested in exploring and going for walks. He doesn't have separation anxiety, but when he's with people, he's always hovering over them or asking to be petted. However, it's better to give him time to adjust to the new dog, with a reasonable distance, rather than showing affection. He has a demanding bark and doesn't like to be chased by other dogs, is not picky about food and barks at strangers. Recommended to be adopted by a family with no children and a regular routine lifestyle.ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract.
