Story
Meet Kongi – A Quiet Soul with a Gentle Heart    Name: Kongi Age: 4 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Border Collie Mix Color: Black & White Weight: 12.5 kg (27.5 lbs) Height: 48 cm (19 in)   Kongi is the loving mother of Haeon and Jaban, who have already found their forever homes in Canada. On February 26, 2025, Kongi was rescued after being found chained up in an industrial area where she had given birth to her puppies. Despite her difficult past, she has grown into a gentle, affectionate dog who is now ready to find a family of her own.    People Kongi can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but she’s easily won over with treats and warms up quickly. She isn’t fearful of strangers—she simply has a calm, independent personality and doesn’t immediately shower everyone with affection. Once she trusts you, however, she’s incredibly sweet and affectionate.   She is currently living with a boy under the age of 13 and the two are best friends. She’s comfortable being gently picked up with an arm under her belly and happily rolls over to show her tummy to the people she loves.    With Other Dogs Kongi is polite and social with other dogs. She enjoys greeting them but rarely chooses to play, preferring to mind her own business. She tends to feel intimidated by dogs much larger than herself but is friendly with dogs of a similar size. Even when another dog acts rudely, Kongi usually chooses to walk away instead of reacting.    With Cats When she sees cats on walks, she’s curious but easily redirects her attention and follows her handler without any issues.    Energy Level Kongi has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once she’s had her exercise, she’s happy to relax quietly at home.    Walking Kongi can pull on the leash at times, but she’s attentive to her handler and is gentle enough to be walked by children. She does have a sensitive side and may freeze or lie down when something scares her. Busy roads with heavy traffic can sometimes make her nervous.    More About Kongi   Fully outdoor potty trained. Very quiet and rarely barks. Calm and well-behaved in a crate. Can jump in and out of the car by herself.   Kongi doesn’t guard food from people, but she may give a warning growl if another dog approaches while she’s eating. She has never shown aggression.    She experiences motion sickness and may drool or vomit during longer rides.   Kongi is the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention—she quietly earns your heart. She’s gentle, loyal, thoughtful, and incredibly rewarding once you’ve earned her trust. After spending her life caring for her puppies, it’s finally Kongi’s turn to be someone’s beloved family member. Story
Meet Dalgom – A Sweet & Social 3-Month-Old Puppy!   Name: Dalgom Age: 3 months Sex: Male Neutered: No – too young Breed: Jindo / Border Collie Mix Color: Black & White Weight: 6.4 kg (14 lbs) Height: 35 cm (13.8 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story Dalgom was found all alone in a cage near a rural reservoir, left outside under the scorching sun. Thankfully, someone spotted him and reached out for help, allowing this little puppy to be rescued and given a chance at a safe and happy life.   ‍‍ Personality & People Dalgom is an incredibly friendly and affectionate puppy who loves people! He happily approaches both familiar faces and complete strangers, rubbing against them for attention and allowing himself to be petted right away.   He is comfortable with both men and women and can easily be picked up and held. He’s so trusting that he’ll even show his belly to someone he has just met.   With Other Dogs Dalgom is just as social with dogs as he is with people. He readily approaches unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play, and he gets along well with dogs both bigger and smaller than himself.   He enjoys playing with energetic dogs and generally avoids conflict if another dog tries to provoke him. He’s a happy, playful little guy who loves having canine friends.   With Cats Dalgom has not yet been observed around cats, but a cat test can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level Dalgom has a moderate puppy energy level. He enjoys being active and playing, but once he’s had his fun, he settles down nicely and rests. Like most puppies his age, he also sleeps quite a bit.   Walks Dalgom has not started regular walks yet, as he is still completing his puppy vaccinations and has currently received his second round.   Food & Other Behaviours Dalgom does not generally guard food from people or other dogs. He can usually eat peacefully around other dogs, although occasional puppy disagreements over food bowls can happen. He does not initiate conflict, but may respond if another dog challenges him.   He currently whines quite a bit when placed in a crate, so he is being introduced to crate training gradually and positively.   House Training Dalgom currently uses indoor pee pads and is also able to eliminate outdoors. As he is only 3 months old, his house-training skills are still developing.   Ideal Home Dalgom is a young puppy with a wonderfully social, affectionate nature and lots of growing and learning ahead of him. He would do best with a family ready to continue his puppy training, socialization, leash training, and crate training with patience and consistency.   If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly little companion who loves both people and dogs, Dalgom may be the perfect addition to your family. Story
If happiness had four paws and a wagging tail, it would be Grizzly. At just under 6 months old, Grizzly is everything you could hope for in a puppy—playful, affectionate, curious, and full of joy. Every day is an adventure in his eyes, whether he’s chasing toys, wrestling with his puppy friends, or soaking up the sunshine after a fun day of play. Grizzly has the kind of personality that makes people smile. He’s goofy, loving, and always ready to make a new friend. He adores people just as much as he loves other dogs and is happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing. Whether it’s exploring a new trail, playing in the backyard, or curling up for a nap after a busy day, Grizzly simply wants to be by your side. His life didn’t start out easy. At only 2 months old, Grizzly was found wandering the streets completely alone—no mom, no siblings, no one searching for him. Thankfully, a kind stranger refused to look the other way and brought him to our rescue partner, SOS El Arca. There, Grizzly received the medical care, good food, and love every puppy deserves. Now this handsome boy is healthy, thriving, and ready to start the next chapter of his life—with a family of his very own. Like any puppy, Grizzly is full of energy and eager to learn. He’s smart, food-motivated, and already working on his potty training. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he’ll blossom into an incredible lifelong companion. He’s at the perfect age to bond deeply with his new family and grow up knowing nothing but love. Grizzly would thrive with an active family that enjoys walks, playtime, and making memories together. He’d love another friendly dog to romp around with but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only best friend. Respectful children would make wonderful playmates, and someone home part of the day would help him continue learning his puppy manners. Grizzly is fully vetted: -Neutered -Microchipped -Fully vaccinated -Dewormed -4DX tested -On flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Simparica) -Crate trained -Dog-friendly -Cat-friendly Grizzly has the opportunity to travel to New York on our September transport if he has a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt family waiting for him. Grizzly is the kind of puppy who grows into your best friend—the one who greets you with a wagging tail every day, joins you on life’s adventures, and reminds you that the simplest moments are the happiest. All he needs now is someone to give him the chance he deserves. Could that someone be you? ❤️ To adopt Grizzly, please complete an adoption application at www.sosanimalwelfare.org or email us at sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com. We’d love to introduce you to this amazing little boy!

Hunter--SUCH A HAPPY FACE!!'s Story Hunter is an athletic, curious, and smart dog. He is independent and would do best in a home without other pets. Hunter is an adult dog, but he has had a rough start to life. He was very sick and barely alive when he was found by animal control, but he pulled through! Now he is ready to find a home where he can get lots of love and affection. Hunter is a strong and tough dog who has proven to be a survivor. He is stubborn and independent, but also very loving. He is looking for a home where he can be the only dog and receive lots of attention from his humans. Story
Lilly-- What you dream of in a fur baby's story! Lilly is a perfect size fur baby that would be a great addition for someone who wants an active already trained good to go type of dog! She is six years old and ready for her next adventure. She has been loved her whole life and taken excellent care of, but her current environment is no longer one she can thrive in. The young babies and toddler make her to nervous and anxious and it's just not fair to Lilly. Lilly is SO smart, loyal, affectionate, and fun. She is the kind of dog who just wants to be wherever her people are. She loves being included and is happiest when she can hang out right alongside you. Some of Lillys favorite things: Snuggling in bed Going for walks Hiking and exploring Running around and having room to roam Peanut butter Long car rides — she is an absolute champ Being near her people Her crate — she has always genuinely loved her crate and sees it as her safe space Learning and training — she is incredibly intelligent and has been very well trained Being OFF leash and getting to explore — she has been trained for this and absolutely loves it She is house trained; crate trained and comes with her E-collar and everything she needs to continue her training. We truly believe Lilly was made for a home with space, structure, adventure, and someone who wants a best friend by their side. A child-free and ideally dog-free home would probably be her happiest fit, not because she's horrible, but because she prefers to be an only dog and offers so much to someone that a second dog isn't necessary. She would thrive in an environment where she can soak up all the attention. Lilly loves adventure and has been in so many social situations that she is amazing. The best way to begin a potential adoption is to directly EMAIL STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET and request an application.

Story
Pythagoras was found as a stray in Alabama when she was just 3 months old. She was born missing her right front paw—but don’t worry, she didn’t get the memo that this should slow her down. She keeps up with life just like any other four-legged pup, from zooming up and down stairs to jumping into snow banks. Pythagoras is exactly what a puppy should be: pure sunshine. She’s incredibly sweet, loves people, and is friendly with other animals. She listens well and is very eager to be a good girl. There’s truly not a mean bone in her body—just joy, curiosity, and a whole lot of love to give. Pythagoras is fostered in Pine Brook, NJ, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet her.
