Meet Hazel   A Gentle Border Collie Looking for Her Forever Family   Hazel is a sweet, affectionate 2-year-old Border Collie with a calm personality and a heart full of love. She may not have had the easiest start in life, but she’s ready to leave her past behind and find a family to call her own.   Name: Hazel Age: 2 years Breed: Border Collie Sex: Spayed Female Weight: 20 kg (44 lbs) Height: 46 cm (18 in) at the shoulder Color: Black & White   Rescue Story Hazel is Aesop’s mother. She was found at a highway rest stop and brought to a municipal shelter in February, where it was discovered that she was pregnant. She gave birth to Aesop at the shelter, and today her puppy has safely joined her forever family in Vancouver to begin her new life. Now it’s Hazel’s turn to find the loving family she deserves.   Personality   Hazel is incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. She happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, enjoys being petted, and loves the company of both men and women.   She can easily be picked up by placing an arm under her belly—but instead of being lifted, she’ll often dramatically flop onto her back for belly rubs! Even people she has just met are greeted with a trusting belly-up welcome.   With Other Dogs   Hazel is polite when meeting new dogs and enjoys saying hello, but she doesn’t have much interest in playing with them. She much prefers spending time with people.   If another dog bothers her while she’s relaxing, she’ll let them know she’d rather be left alone by shooing them away. However, she has no aggression and does not start fights. She’s simply an independent, peaceful girl.   Cats   She may curiously watch cats during walks, but she easily follows her handler without reacting. A formal cat test can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Hazel has a low energy level and is happiest lounging nearby and relaxing with her family. She absolutely enjoys going for walks, making her an ideal companion for someone looking for a calm dog who still appreciates daily outdoor adventures.   Walking   Hazel has a mild leash pull but is easy to handle. Like many dogs, she enjoys stopping to sniff and explore her surroundings.   More About Hazel   No food guarding toward people or other dogs Rarely barks Calm and quiet in a crate Mostly potty trained for outdoor elimination   Hazel is a gentle, easygoing girl who asks for very little—just kindness, love, and a soft place to rest. After raising her puppy, it’s finally her time to be someone’s beloved companion. Could that family be yours? Story
Meet Kongi – A Quiet Soul with a Gentle Heart    Name: Kongi Age: 4 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Border Collie Mix Color: Black & White Weight: 12.5 kg (27.5 lbs) Height: 48 cm (19 in)   Kongi is the loving mother of Haeon and Jaban, who have already found their forever homes in Canada. On February 26, 2025, Kongi was rescued after being found chained up in an industrial area where she had given birth to her puppies. Despite her difficult past, she has grown into a gentle, affectionate dog who is now ready to find a family of her own.    People Kongi can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but she’s easily won over with treats and warms up quickly. She isn’t fearful of strangers—she simply has a calm, independent personality and doesn’t immediately shower everyone with affection. Once she trusts you, however, she’s incredibly sweet and affectionate.   She is currently living with a boy under the age of 13 and the two are best friends. She’s comfortable being gently picked up with an arm under her belly and happily rolls over to show her tummy to the people she loves.    With Other Dogs Kongi is polite and social with other dogs. She enjoys greeting them but rarely chooses to play, preferring to mind her own business. She tends to feel intimidated by dogs much larger than herself but is friendly with dogs of a similar size. Even when another dog acts rudely, Kongi usually chooses to walk away instead of reacting.    With Cats When she sees cats on walks, she’s curious but easily redirects her attention and follows her handler without any issues.    Energy Level Kongi has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once she’s had her exercise, she’s happy to relax quietly at home.    Walking Kongi can pull on the leash at times, but she’s attentive to her handler and is gentle enough to be walked by children. She does have a sensitive side and may freeze or lie down when something scares her. Busy roads with heavy traffic can sometimes make her nervous.    More About Kongi   Fully outdoor potty trained. Very quiet and rarely barks. Calm and well-behaved in a crate. Can jump in and out of the car by herself.   Kongi doesn’t guard food from people, but she may give a warning growl if another dog approaches while she’s eating. She has never shown aggression.   Car rides aren’t her favorite. She may have had a negative experience with vehicles in the past, as she tends to avoid cars in parking lots. She also experiences motion sickness and may drool or vomit during longer rides, so her future family should be prepared to help her feel comfortable while traveling.   Kongi is the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention—she quietly earns your heart. She’s gentle, loyal, thoughtful, and incredibly rewarding once you’ve earned her trust. After spending her life caring for her puppies, it’s finally Kongi’s turn to be someone’s beloved family member. Meet Dalgom – A Sweet & Social 3-Month-Old Puppy!   Name: Dalgom Age: 3 months Sex: Male Neutered: No – too young Breed: Jindo / Border Collie Mix Color: Black & White Weight: 6.4 kg (14 lbs) Height: 35 cm (13.8 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story Dalgom was found all alone in a cage near a rural reservoir, left outside under the scorching sun. Thankfully, someone spotted him and reached out for help, allowing this little puppy to be rescued and given a chance at a safe and happy life.   ‍‍ Personality & People Dalgom is an incredibly friendly and affectionate puppy who loves people! He happily approaches both familiar faces and complete strangers, rubbing against them for attention and allowing himself to be petted right away.   He is comfortable with both men and women and can easily be picked up and held. He’s so trusting that he’ll even show his belly to someone he has just met.   With Other Dogs Dalgom is just as social with dogs as he is with people. He readily approaches unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play, and he gets along well with dogs both bigger and smaller than himself.   He enjoys playing with energetic dogs and generally avoids conflict if another dog tries to provoke him. He’s a happy, playful little guy who loves having canine friends.   With Cats Dalgom has not yet been observed around cats, but a cat test can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level Dalgom has a moderate puppy energy level. He enjoys being active and playing, but once he’s had his fun, he settles down nicely and rests. Like most puppies his age, he also sleeps quite a bit.   Walks Dalgom has not started regular walks yet, as he is still completing his puppy vaccinations and has currently received his second round.   Food & Other Behaviours Dalgom does not generally guard food from people or other dogs. He can usually eat peacefully around other dogs, although occasional puppy disagreements over food bowls can happen. He does not initiate conflict, but may respond if another dog challenges him.   He currently whines quite a bit when placed in a crate, so he is being introduced to crate training gradually and positively.   House Training Dalgom currently uses indoor pee pads and is also able to eliminate outdoors. As he is only 3 months old, his house-training skills are still developing.   Ideal Home Dalgom is a young puppy with a wonderfully social, affectionate nature and lots of growing and learning ahead of him. He would do best with a family ready to continue his puppy training, socialization, leash training, and crate training with patience and consistency.   If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly little companion who loves both people and dogs, Dalgom may be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Keiko is a very sweet and beautiful boy who we think is a flat coated Border Collie mix. He's just about 1 year old and 35 pounds which is smaller than some of his pics make him appear. He's got different looks depending if his ears are up or down! :) He has a very sweet & gentle personality and can be a little shy when he first meets people but warms up quickly. He loves playing with other dogs and getting belly rubs and kisses from his Foster Mom. He get along great with everyone he meets ...just needs a slow and gentle intro so he can smell you and maybe get a treat. We also tested him with cats and he did great! Ask to see the video of his cat test so you can see how sweet he is! Once he knows you...he will be your best friend. He has a low-medium energy level so settles nicely after playing and loves quiet time relaxing on the couch or in his doggie bed. He loves going for walks in the neighborhood and rides in the car too. We think he'd thrive with an older doggie sibling to play with and give him confidence. We recommend kiddos be 8+ years because toddlers may have a higher level of energy than he'd enjoy. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body but he's a more mellow and quiet guy. Keiko is healthy, up to date on all his vaccinations, house-trained and crate-trained so he's so ready to find his forever family. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info and pics of this sweet boy!

Story
If happiness had four paws and a wagging tail, it would be Grizzly. At just under 6 months old, Grizzly is everything you could hope for in a puppy—playful, affectionate, curious, and full of joy. Every day is an adventure in his eyes, whether he’s chasing toys, wrestling with his puppy friends, or soaking up the sunshine after a fun day of play. Grizzly has the kind of personality that makes people smile. He’s goofy, loving, and always ready to make a new friend. He adores people just as much as he loves other dogs and is happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing. Whether it’s exploring a new trail, playing in the backyard, or curling up for a nap after a busy day, Grizzly simply wants to be by your side. His life didn’t start out easy. At only 2 months old, Grizzly was found wandering the streets completely alone—no mom, no siblings, no one searching for him. Thankfully, a kind stranger refused to look the other way and brought him to our rescue partner, SOS El Arca. There, Grizzly received the medical care, good food, and love every puppy deserves. Now this handsome boy is healthy, thriving, and ready to start the next chapter of his life—with a family of his very own. Like any puppy, Grizzly is full of energy and eager to learn. He’s smart, food-motivated, and already working on his potty training. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he’ll blossom into an incredible lifelong companion. He’s at the perfect age to bond deeply with his new family and grow up knowing nothing but love. Grizzly would thrive with an active family that enjoys walks, playtime, and making memories together. He’d love another friendly dog to romp around with but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only best friend. Respectful children would make wonderful playmates, and someone home part of the day would help him continue learning his puppy manners. Grizzly is fully vetted: -Neutered -Microchipped -Fully vaccinated -Dewormed -4DX tested -On flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Simparica) -Crate trained -Dog-friendly -Cat-friendly Grizzly has the opportunity to travel to New York on our September transport if he has a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt family waiting for him. Grizzly is the kind of puppy who grows into your best friend—the one who greets you with a wagging tail every day, joins you on life’s adventures, and reminds you that the simplest moments are the happiest. All he needs now is someone to give him the chance he deserves. Could that someone be you? ❤️ To adopt Grizzly, please complete an adoption application at www.sosanimalwelfare.org or email us at sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com. Meet Ginger! Ginger has been waiting since March for her forever family. Her mom and five siblings have all been adopted, and now it’s finally this sweet girl’s turn. This 8-month-old Cattle Dog mix came to New York from Texas and is the perfect mix of smart, playful, loyal, and affectionate. Ginger is dog friendly, incredibly food motivated, and loves to learn. She’s been doing fantastic with training and is even working on dock diving!  She loves fetch, exploring, and staying active with her people. At home, Ginger is a superstar too. She settles beautifully in her crate and sleeps through the night like a champ. Ginger can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she trusts you, she forms a deep bond and becomes a loving, devoted best friend. She’s been waiting for months. Could you be the family Ginger has been waiting for?  Apply to adopt Ginger at Barrkli.org ##2685191##
