Story
Meet Winter  Winter is a stunning border collie mix whose life changed suddenly after her beloved owner passed away, leaving no one able to care for her. Through it all, she has remained a gentle, beautiful soul. About 2 years old and 60 lbs, Winter is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to begin her next chapter. With all the recent changes in her world, she’ll need time to decompress and adjust, but with patience and consistency, she truly shines. As a herding breed, Winter will do best with an adopter who understands her needs and can provide structure, guidance, and a calm environment. She would thrive as the only dog in the home with someone committed to helping her feel safe and secure. If you think you could be the fresh start Winter deserves, apply at BARRKLI.org  ##2650286##

Story
Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🧡 Meet Ma-eum A gentle soul learning to love again Ma-eum spent his early years tied outside on a farm, living in fear. He was abused by a male owner and frightened by children who threw balls at him. Because of that, he is still afraid of men, loud playground sounds, and the sight of bouncing toys. But despite all this, Ma-eum has the gentlest heart. For the past two years, he has been living in a patient and loving foster home. He has made slow, steady progress — on his terms — and is now ready for the next chapter of his life. 🧬 Personality Ma-eum is a quiet, thoughtful boy with a soft energy. He feels safest around gentle women with warm voices, and he truly thrives in calm, peaceful homes. He may keep his distance from men indoors, but sometimes shows more courage when outdoors. He isn’t the kind of dog who will run into your arms — but with time and patience, he’ll follow you anywhere. He enjoys peaceful walks, nosework games, gentle pets, and long naps by your side. He doesn't bark much, and he waits quietly when left alone after a short adjustment. 🏡 At Home ✅ House-trained (prefers peeing on vertical surfaces — his foster can provide wall-to-floor pads) ✅ Good with calm dogs (interested and social but may growl at overly excited dogs) ✅ Neutral to cats (no strong prey drive) ✅ Tolerates children (nervous around fast movements but never aggressive) ✅ Excellent in the car ✅ Loves brushing and gentle touch 🚫 Afraid of balls and squeaky toys — he prefers games with treats instead 💛 Ma-eum is looking for… A family who will let him set the pace. Someone who doesn’t expect instant cuddles but understands how meaningful it is when a shy dog chooses to stay close. Ideally, a female adopter or a quiet household with gentle energy. 📦 Foster home can provide pee pad setup 📍 Adoption includes interview & home check 📩 If Ma-eum’s story touched your heart, we’d love to tell you more. He’s been waiting a long time for someone who sees past the fear — and into his true, beautiful heart

Story
Meet CoCo   Name: CoCo Age: 1 year Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Border Collie Mix Color: Black / White / Brown Weight: 10 kg Height: 43–45 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story CoCo was rescued on November 19, 2025, from a severe animal hoarding case involving over 200 dogs. He was extremely fearful of people when first rescued, but after one month in a foster home, he has made remarkable progress and has learned that humans can be kind and safe.    With People   CoCo may be a little shy at first, but once treats come out, he quickly warms up and starts trusting. After he bonds with someone, he enjoys being touched and can even be picked up by supporting his belly. When he feels close to you, he will roll over and show his tummy as a sign of affection.   His confidence with people has grown significantly — he now shows interest in people on walks and has recently started paying special attention to women, sometimes wanting to follow them. He also prefers to sleep close to his people.    With Other Dogs   CoCo is generally neutral toward other dogs. He doesn’t seek out play and usually ignores dogs that approach him. However, he can feel nervous around dogs larger than himself. If another dog acts pushy or challenging, CoCo chooses to avoid the situation rather than react.    With Cats & Birds   When he sees cats on walks, he may look at them with curiosity, but he will follow his handler when guided. He may show a brief chasing response toward birds.    Energy Level   CoCo has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and especially loves walking, running, and moving. After exercise, he settles down well and relaxes calmly.    On Walks   CoCo loves walks and prefers brisk walking or jogging over sniffing. He does pull on leash, but he follows his handler and is currently practicing better leash manners. He has recently become more interested in people while walking, which can distract him, so continued training will help.    At Home & Other Notes • No food guarding with people or dogs • Rarely barks, but may bark to ask for something • May whine briefly in a kennel, then settles • Jumps into and out of the car on his own • Uses both pee pads and outdoor potty • Not very interested in toys • Knows “sit” and “paw,” currently learning “down” • Recently showing some separation anxiety — gradual alone-time training is recommended • Has chewed phone charging cables, so wires should be kept out of reach • Currently teething, so safe chew toys are important • Not food-obsessed, but happily takes treats   CoCo is a gentle, sensitive, and affectionate boy who has overcome a difficult past. With patience, structure, and love, he will continue to grow into a loyal and wonderful companion  Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.  Currently in Korea  Available to Canada & U.S. ##2627856##

Story
🐾 Hi… I’m Tony 💙 I’m a 5-month-old possibly blue heeler mix, about 25 lbs, and everyone says I’m a very good boy (I don’t like to brag, but… it’s true). I may still be a puppy, but I’m pretty mellow for my age. I love soft pets, quiet cuddles, and just being near my people. I’m sweet, gentle, and easygoing—the kind of pup who fits right into your life and makes it better without asking for much. I have a loving heart and a calm soul, and I’m learning all the things a good pup should. I’m expected to grow to about 40–45 lbs, which means I’ll be the perfect medium-sized sidekick for couch snuggles, walks, and everyday adventures. Mostly, I just want a place where I can feel safe, loved, and part of a family. I promise to give you loyalty, affection, and that quiet puppy love that makes your heart feel full. 💙 If you’ve been waiting for a sign… I might be it. I'm available to adopt or foster to adopt so reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info about me. APPLY: https://www.lrhrescue.com/adoption-application/#

Story
Hi, I’m Crumbles ??I’m a 3-month-old Border Collie puppy who had a pretty wild start to life. I was found all alone out in the Georgia wilderness (yep, by myself), until a kind human scooped me up and got me safe. After that, I made my way all the way to NYC — which has been… a lot for a little guy like me.I want to be friends. Truly. I’m sweet, curious, and very smart — but the world is still a little scary to me. I need patience, calm guidance, and lots of positive exposure at a pace I can handle. When I feel overwhelmed, my big feelings come out before my confidence does.Being a Border Collie means my brain is always ON. I’m already showing strong instincts and opinions, and during a puppy playdate I had a hard time sharing toys and got a bit growly. I’m not trying to be mean — I just need structure, training, and someone who understands how to guide a smart, sensitive puppy like me.Because of that, I cannot be a first-dog. I need an experienced, confident owner who knows working breeds and is ready to invest time, training, and consistency. I also won’t be adopted to a home with children under 12, since I’m still learning how to navigate big emotions safely.I have so much potential. With the right person, I’m going to grow into an incredible dog — loyal, brilliant, and deeply bonded to my human. I just need someone who sees past the puppy nerves and knows how to help me succeed. If you’re experienced, patient, and ready to guide a little mind that’s learning fast… I might just be your Crumbles ???Crumbles is neutered, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. His adoption fee is $650.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC. Crumbles will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of his adoption. If you`d like to meet him please visit, we`re conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus. Story
Jonie - 4 months & 16lbs (as of 2/3), Border Collie Mx, SpayedExpected around 40lbs full grown This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Thier Foster Parent Says: "I couldn't be more in love with Miss Jonie. Beyond being ridiculously cute, she is one sweet puppy! She loves humans -- no stranger danger here -- and will snuggle with just about anyone she encounters. Jonie is a very smart dog and it shows: she's quickly become a pro at going potty outside and she's become accustomed to the leash quite quickly as well. She has typical puppy energy, but it comes in small spurts. Her favorite thing to do in play time is to use chew toys and play fetch. Our day to day has consisted of SO many cuddles, good walks (though it's been difficult with this recent weather!), saying hi to ALL the neighbors, and mastering some basic commands. Our girl can sit! Overall: she is simply darling, and anyone would be lucky to have her join their family." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy levelMEDIUM: Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  TOLERANCE TO CITYCity pup – She is shockingly unfazed by almost everything -- cars, other dogs, people walking.POTTY TRAININGYes – Few or no accidents She is a nearly a master at the potty already! The first few days, she definitely used her wee pads, but now knows to go outside and is doing so regularly / communicating if / when she needs to go out. If she ever goes inside (rare), she knows to go on her wee pads.COMFORT LEVEL WITH STRANGERSSocial butterfly – Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, loves anyone who will stop to say hello. Literally could not be more of a people person.BEHAVIOR WITH CHILDREN Maybe for age 12 and up – Is either big and energetic (okay with kids big enough not to get knocked down) or a little skittish (could be comfortable with older children that can be extra gentle) Only say this because she is definitely teething (though I know she will grow out of this) -- she occasionally / playfully will bite clothingSOCIAL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER DOGSYes – Good with most other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other canines Based on what I have seen, she has not been scared of any dog / enjoys socializingSocial with cats?Yes. Most puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.MOUTHY BEHAVIORWorking on it –  Little bit of chewing on shoes / etc., but minor and will stop when told.SEPARATION ANXIETY (Please leave your foster dog home alone every day for at least 20 minutes.)Past this stage – She is an independent queen, does not whimper or whine and knows how to entertain herself with toys (or honestly just naps) when I'm gone.LEASH MANNERSGetting the hang of it CUDDLE BUG LEVELHigh – Wants to be in your lap pretty much all the time BIG CUDDLER!JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLOListens to correction – Only jumps on people they know when really excited, stops with correction.  CRATE TRAININGNot at all – Don’t even have one, I’ve puppy proofed and we free range. I do have one and she will sometime freely enter and chill, but I haven't attempted to leave her in as it hasn't been necessary  MEDICAL STATUS:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines (for dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age), spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon HOW DID THIS DOG END UP WITH US?Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
