Story
Hunter is a very smart puppy. He gets lonely often, but will play by himself and sleep when he is tired out. He needs at least 2 hrs of proper play in a day. I take him on a 30 minute walk, 30-45 min of soft play, and then we do training to mentally stimulate him. He walks well on a leash, knows how to sit, high five, paw, wave (rough), boop (touch his nose to palm). He is skittish but it is because I have not desensitized him much, I am working on it. He is ok with his crate. He is also pretty vocal when he wants to play. He is not completely house trained, but that is my fault for not keeping an eye on him when i let him roam. Usually he will give a signal he needs to go out, but i miss it sometimes. The $500 cost comes with Hunter, his play pen, all his toys, and crate, etc. Up for negotiations, if you are a trust worthy owner. He is not fully vaxxed, he has his first two sets and needs his second 2.

Story
They are quite the dynamic duo. Lolo is big sister and protector - of both her human family and her brother Casey. And Casey is the goofball who wants nothing more than to play and give kisses. They are brother and sister and we want them adopted together. They love to spend their time romping in the yard and taking leisurely walks around the ranch. These beautiful and loyal companions would make great additions to an active family. They are fully vaccinated, neutered and spayed, and microchipped for life. They can be transported anywhere in the US or Canada. ##1939561##

Our veterinary partner estimates that Penguin is 5 months old at the time of intake in March 2024. Penguin is good with people and other dogs. Penguin was homeless wandering the streets doing his best to survive and suffering. RDR has found him and he is receiving the medical attention he needs to be the perfect addition to any family!  The best medicine we can get him is love and to feel safe, can you provide for Penguin and rewrite the rest of his life? Please apply online to adopt Penguin (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.   RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption.  Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Story
This is BEN! This 23 pounds and ~5 months old as of October. We think he’s a “Borador” (Lab/Border Collie mix). Ben is a typical happy puppy who loves to play, and gets along great with all dogs! We really have nothing more to say about him because he’s such a sweetie. Ben and some other puppies were found under a bridge with their mama (or another adult female dog, we don’t actually know if it was their mom) who were all dumped there. Our founder feeds a dog who lives under the bridge every day and someone must have known this and left these dogs for us to rescue. If you are interested in this great puppy, please complete an application from our site: https://www.miraclesforsatosrescue.org/adoption-foster-application Applications must be complete to be considered. Your application will not get lost ! We are a small but efficient rescue ! ____________________________________________ PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently in Puerto Rico. Once an adopter is fully approved, transport will be arranged to New York. In addition, if you are applying for this dog or any of our pups, you must be open to dog psychology/behavior (Cesar Millan) and fulfilling the needs of the dog. We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority. We ask that you please make sure if interested in a puppy or high energy breed that you are ready for this time consuming/daily endeavor and have patience as this is a long term commitment (could be 15+ years). Please consider your future lifestyle after COVID. Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment is the most important thing in caring for a dog. In addition we cannot guarantee breed of any dog or expected adult size of a puppy. Thank you for understanding.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ZAANA was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. She along with her 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 ZAANA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 18 November 2021 and at the time of transport weighed around 30 pounds. The group believe that Zaana could be a Japanese Spitz mix, but we have no way of knowing for sure. ZAANA is the girl for you if you are looking for a gentle, sweet, super affectionate girl. She has settled in well after her long, scary trip from Oman and enjoys when I am in the kennels giving her lots of love and fuss. She will put her paw on my arm or shoulder so that I can scratch the spots she likes and I think it is also her way of wanting to connect. She is a beautiful girl who does have a medium length coat, so grooming is a consideration to be taken into account as if coats are not brushed, they can matt very easily which is not healthy and painful for the dogs. She is an active girl and will need a family that will take her on lots of adventures and give her the lifestyle that she needs and deserves to thrive. ZAANA can be dog selective and so she would be best in a home with no other dogs, so as to not cause any un-needed stress or concerns. Then over time she can get to meet other dogs and see who she likes to have as her friends so she can play and chase and have some doggy-fun. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue   YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Zaana is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $400. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. Story
Meet Indie a beautiful, sweet, shy 6 year old (30 lbs.) border collie and chihuahua mix up. I rescued her from the Midwest where she had been shot and left outside due to that she is very shy around new people but is very friendly once she warms up to you (I joke she’s more like a cat than a dog). She has never bitten or hurt anyone and most of the time ignores kids unless they come up to her. Indie is also great with cats, usually ignores the cat but sometimes will gently play if they both are engaged. She loves other dogs, so will do great if you are looking for a companion to your current furry family member. Indie is fully house-trained, rarely barks, and great at recalling, sit, and shake. I work from home and she sleeps all day. She walks well but I would not recommend she be left unattended outside. She prescribed meds for when it rains/storms. Indie does have a lot of anxiety cause of her past, so please be prepared to show her a safe and loving environment.

Story
Location: Korea Rescue Story: Prince Hans is a remarkable dog with an even more remarkable story. Rescued from deplorable conditions at a gas station, he endured a life of neglect, tied up and surviving on coffee and food scraps. His life took a turn for the better when a compassionate resident, who had cared for him and another dog named Sleeping Beauty, stepped in to save them from an uncertain and bleak future. Physical Description: Prince Hans is a medium-sized mixed-breed dog with striking features. His coat is a handsome blend of caramel and white, with soulful brown eyes that speak volumes of his resilience and longing for a loving home. Personality: Energy Level: Prince Hans is a calm and gentle soul, scoring a 4 on the energy scale. He enjoys a leisurely pace and appreciates a peaceful environment. Barking: You'll hardly hear a peep from Prince Hans. He's a quiet and composed companion who prefers to listen and observe. Leash Manners: After three months of dedicated training, Prince Hans has transformed from a strong leash-puller into a well-behaved walker. He now strolls calmly by your side, making walks a pleasure for both of you. Appetite: Prince Hans has a hearty appetite and eagerly devours his meals. He's not a picky eater and enjoys a well-balanced diet. Bathing: While he may not particularly enjoy bath time, Prince Hans patiently stands still. He's a cooperative dog who understands that some things are part of the grooming routine. Treats and Walks: Prince Hans lights up when it's treat time or time for a leisurely walk. These are some of his favorite activities, and you'll see his excitement shine through during these moments. Otherwise, he's content to lounge quietly and relax. Training: Prince Hans already knows commands like "Sit" and "Stay," which is a testament to his intelligence and eagerness to please. He's a quick learner and is ready to embark on further training adventures with his new family. Ideal Home: Prince Hans would thrive in a calm and loving home where he can continue to heal from his past experiences. He's a perfect fit for individuals or families seeking a loyal and low-energy companion who appreciates the simple pleasures in life. He would do well in a home with a secure yard for leisurely strolls and playtime. Adoption Notes: Prince Hans has come a long way from the gas station where he was found. Story
Bear is a sweet, energetic dog with Heterochromia (one blue eye) who loves to be around people who show him love. He was picked up as a stray in Georgia, spent some time in NYC, and is now being fostered in CT where he is THRIVING. He's able to run around and explore the outdoors, his two favorite hobbies. In a matter of a few days, Bear has become a lot more comfortable with the new surroundings and really started to show his affectionate side. He absolutely loves to play and loves to cuddle. Bear is housebroken and crate trained. Currently he has a crate inside his playpen, but chooses to sleep/hang out in the playpen with no issues - he sleeps through the night and relaxes (after a bit of whining) during the day. He’s very smart and food-motivated and responds very well to daily training. Bear has not been aggressive around his food and is the gentlest treat-taker you've ever seen. Bear loves to go for car rides! Personally, I like having him in the backseat with his seatbelt on, he prefers to be a passenger.  Bear walks best with his harness and benefits from continued leash training. He is an energetic, athletic, strong dog and would do great with people who enjoy outdoor activies as well.
