Story
Meet Riggs — a handsome 2-year-old border collie with a fun-loving personality and a heart full of loyalty! Riggs absolutely loves being around his people and is happiest when he’s included in everyday adventures. Whether it’s going for a hike, exploring outdoors, or just hanging out by your side, Riggs is ready to be your perfect adventure buddy. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. Riggs is housebroken in his foster home, though like many dogs, he may need a few reminders while adjusting to a new environment and routine. He also does excellent in a crate. Riggs is eager to please and highly food motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding — especially if treats are involved! His affectionate personality, intelligence, and desire to be close to his people make him a wonderful companion. Riggs will come fixed, up to date on vaccinations, and current on preventative care. He’s ready to find a loving home to call his own! This animal is current on all age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed/neutered or will go home with an already scheduled appointment. They have also been given flea prevention. Adoption fee is $350.00. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an application. http://www.ajssearchandrescue.org/adoption-application May 22, 2026, 5:59 pm

Story
Meet Percy! We have had Percy just over 2 weeks after his previous owner couldn't care for him. He has made a lot of progress since coming into our care and we are so proud of him!Percy turns 5 this month (May 2026). He is a Border Collie mix.He is sweet and very intelligent. He will be your best friend for life! The ideal new home will have no cats and at least one other dog. Percy loves friends and gets along great with all dogs!We do not know how he is with small children, but because he can be a little rambunctious, we think older kids or no kids would be better. He is highly trainable. He is 100% housebroken and knows sit, stay, leave it, down, house (to return to the crate), etc.He is learning how to be crate trained (doing really well!) and how to walk on the leash without pulling. He makes great progress every day!The ideal new home will understand that he is a work in progress but that he has a TON of potential!Rehoming because we have 3 cats and they aren't blending well.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi I am a very smart 56 pound collie mix looking for my forever family.A kind lady took me in because my previous owner could not care for me any more.Unfortunately she can't keep me because I scare her cats.I have to chase them every time I see them(I am told I have something called a high prey drive, don't get me started on squirrels.)As you can see in my video I am very smart learning new things very quickly.I get so excited and proud of myself when I learn something new and hear those words 'good boy' My favorite thing is to be with my people and make them happy.I also love rolling in the grass, chasing things and playing with other pups, and eating string cheese.I have always lived with another dog so would do best in a family that already has a pup that I can be friends with.I am crate trained and good on a leash.I have started a 10 lesson training session to make me even better on leash, more comfortable with my nails being done and a couple of other manner things to help me be even better then I already am.If a family adopts me before they are over guess what, that family gets the rest of the training sessions with me!Isnt that awesome? Are you looking for a second fur baby in your home to shower you with love and fun? Here I am!    Fenced in yard is required. No small children or cats please.Click here to watch a video of Percy-the super smart lover boy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.     May 22, 2026, 11:13 pm

Story
I got her from my sister I don’t know exactly where. She is an attention hog and will always try to lay with you. She also has A LOT of energy. She seems unbothered by my cats, and gets along with my other old dog. She was trained by sit means sit dog training but it required a buzzing collar which I didn’t like to use so the training probably doesn’t matter much now. Anyone who has a lot of space for running around or anyone who enjoys taking their dogs outside and giving them exercise would be ideal to get all her energy out. She also seems very agile and might get a lot of fun out of some sort of agility training. I am struggling financially and time wise to give her the attention she needs and she has growled and seems overprotective toward my newborn child and my wife doesn’t feel safe having her around the baby. She doesn’t act that way otherwise.

Story
TEDDY 5YRS 33LBS MALE AUS CATTLE DOG LISA 3YR 21 LBS FEMALE MIX MUST HAVE ACD/HERDING BREED EXPERIENCE BONDED PAIR-Ever wanted a dog for you and a dog for your sig other but were afraid of clashing personalities? Well, not here because these two love each other, a LOT, so at least you know they get along perfectly and there is one for each of you. 2x the love!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And man, are they CUTE!) They travel often in the car with me for over an hour at a time - they do ride crated. Load up easy and ride quietly- unless we go through a drive through then Lisa has opinions about what she wants too. She likes to play ball, but not as intense as Teddy and will just let him get it and go find something else to do. They play and wrestle with each other and other dogs. Not overly rough but will get on ground with each other. They love to run laps in the yard chasing each other. They leave my uninterested dogs alone, as there is always someone else to play with. Lisa did not get along with my 1 male foster - just a little 10 pounder . Not sure who to started the war, but I did not leave them loose with each other * no actual fight/injury/contact ever occured. There was alot of noise 1 time, and they would grumble at each other when passing by each other's crates/run at work. Teddy is pretty easy going but doesn't like to be corrected. He will get bossy -verbal and pin someone who tries to But a sharp HEY from me and he will stop and walk away * never has been a fight or injury. Loves to play fetch and the other dogs do not challenge him to get the ball away from him. He would definitely destroy a stuffed toy if given the chance. They both love to chew on antlers/ nylabones/Benebone etc Teddy is a super cuddler and happy to hang on the couch or bed. Lisa loves attention too but takes a bit more to settle down at first. Both settle quickly and Quietly in a crate. They are both jumpers and when seeking attention. They have gotten better, but would need to be reminded of their manners going forward. We do not require a fenced BUT they would need a secure area to be able to run in and burn off energy weekly. Crate trained and housebroken   This animal is up to date on all shots, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. They have been heartworm tested (negative) and on prevention.  The adoption fee is $400.00 for the pair.
