Story
Lacey is a 10-year-old Border Collie/Beagle mix with the softest soul and the most devoted heart. She’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and happiest when she’s right by her people’s side—quietly following along, just wanting to be included. She definitely inherited the beagle nose, so fair warning: trash cans should stay secured But beyond that little quirk, Lacey is an easy, peaceful companion. She does fine with other dogs but doesn’t rely on them for companionship—people are her favorite, and that’s all she really needs. Lacey loves the outdoors, especially cooler or cold weather. She would be thrilled with daily walks, time outside with her humans, and simply being able to enjoy fresh air—something she hasn’t had much of in her life so far. Her previous world was very small, and while she was deeply loved, her owners became bedbound and could no longer meet her needs. Letting her go was an act of love, and now Lacey is ready for a new chapter. She has Cushing’s disease, diagnosed a few months ago, and would benefit from activity, weight loss, and consistent care. More than anything, she needs someone who will give her time, affection, and companionship. Lacey isn’t demanding. She doesn’t need chaos or excitement—just a kind person, a steady routine, and love. In return, she’ll give you loyalty, calm companionship, and a quiet presence that makes a house feel like home. If you’re looking for a gentle shadow, a walking buddy, and a dog who just wants to be with you, Lacey may be your perfect match  Adoption is $100 which includes his spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccines, microchip and current monthly prevention. Lia and Nico are the two best companions anyone could wish for. It would be wonderful if they were adopted together. They are brother and sister 8 years old purchased from a breeder in Eastern PA at 12 weeks. They are sweet, loyal, loving, obedient, incredibly smart and wonderful companions. Nico prefers to be outside but is equally happy indoors. Lia prefers to be where you are, whether indoors or out. Again super smart and respond to Come, Stay, Sit, Paw, Down, Sit on Beds, Find the ball.

Story
Verona is a 9-month-old pup who is looking for a patient, understanding home where she can continue to grow in confidence. She’s a sweet girl who does best in a calm environment and would thrive with adopters willing to move at her pace. Verona does great with gentle, calm dogs and would especially benefit from having a confident, well-adjusted dog in the home to help show her the ropes. Because she’s still learning about the world, a home with older children (14+) would be the best fit for her. With time, kindness, and consistency, Verona has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. She just needs the right family to help her feel safe and supported.

Story
Milo is a striking traditional black-and-white Border Collie with a refined elegance and a gentle spirit. While he may take a moment to warm up to new people, he soon reveals his affectionate nature and endearing, playful personality. As a devoted companion, Milo thrives on close connection, making him the ideal "Velcro dog" who finds true contentment by his person's side. He would do best in a home that has someone home (work from home), has a dog walker or can take him to daycare. Milo arrived at the shelter when his previous owner, facing significant health challenges, could no longer provide the care he deserved. Fortunately, his owner invested substantial time in his training, which is evident in his current foster environment. Milo demonstrates impressive obedience, including sit, down, paw, stay, come, and additional commands we are continuing to discover. He has prior experience with clicker training and agility work, and was even trained for off-leash reliability—though we have yet to test this in a controlled setting. These skills position him as an exceptional partner for active, engaged households. Milo exhibits exemplary house manners. He has had no accidents or marking incidents, and he efficiently completes his outdoor routines before promptly returning indoors. He interacts harmoniously with other dogs, showing respect and deference to his foster housemates. During cat introductions at the shelter, Milo displayed indifference, and in one instance, appeared mildly cautious toward the feline. Milo enjoys walks/runs and maintains good leash etiquette. He can become mildly enthusiastic upon spotting other dogs, an area we are addressing through ongoing positive reinforcement training. Travel poses no issue for Milo; he rides calmly and contentedly in the car, often appearing to relish these outings. Due to his innate herding instincts, we recommend a home without children under 10 years of age to ensure a smooth transition for all. We continue to learn more about Milo each day, so please check back for updates. If you have an approved application on file (valid for two years) or have recently submitted one for another dog, we invite you to contact tlb145@aim.com for additional details and next steps. Come see Milo and his friends on our web page https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs Location: Northeast Ohio Contact: tlb145@aim.com

Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This handsome 5-year-old Australian Shepherd is the total package — smart, loyal, and full of love! Max knows basic commands, is fully housebroken, and enjoys toys, bones, and relaxing in his crate, though he prefers to be by your side. He walks well on a leash but may pull or react when he sees other dogs. He’s played nicely with dogs before, but slow introductions work best. Max loves being with his person, whether he’s fetching a ball, getting belly rubs, or resting his head in your lap. Like most Aussies, he’s alert, aware of his surroundings, and may try to herd small children or animals. He’ll thrive in a home familiar with herding breeds and able to guide his energy in a positive way. Max needs a yard to run in or someone who is reasonably active to help him stay happy and balanced through walks, play, and mental stimulation. Adoption is $300 which includes his neuter, age-appropriate vaccines, microchip and current monthly prevention. Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet.  Meet the snuggle sensation, Puppy Summer! This bundle of joy lives for cuddles and playtime galore. She's practically a house-training prodigy, snoozing in her crate all night like a champ. Just two 30-minute strolls a day keep her tail wagging. Summer's still mastering the art of leash walking, but her foster parent is on the case. She's a pro car rider and gets along with other dogs, though she might play queen bee, so slow intros are key. With her herding instincts, she's not the best roommate for cats or tiny tots. She's a bundle of affection and a real smarty-paws! Summer's got a heart as big as her puppy eyes! Summer's adoption fee is $350.00 Australian Cattle Dogs are brainy, fiercely loyal, and packed with energy, making them stellar sidekicks for active families who can keep up with their boundless spirit and love for learning. Their high-octane nature means they can turn into little whirlwinds of mischief or anxiety if left to twiddle their paws too long. Not the best fit for first-time owners or apartment life, but for the right, savvy human who gets their quirks, these dogs are pure gold. All Paws and Prayers animals are up to date on vaccinations (age appropriate) and are given monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes spay / neuter and microchipping. Please complete a non-obligatory adoption application at https://pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application/ Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions. Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only.  Resident pets of all applicants must have had routine veterinary care, be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines per the recommendations of your vet, current on heartworm tests and prevention (dogs only). We will verify these records; giving your veterinarian permission to speak with us will help expedite the processing of your application.  Should your pet have a medical issue that may prohibit any of these, please note that on your application and we will also verify this with your veterinarian. Inquiries submitted through Petfinder or other third-party websites do not submit as applications in our database. December 12, 2025, 4:06 am

Story
Sweet 1 year old Amy is in the market for a new loving home and would prefer a more quiet laid back setting. She is 35 lbs of a perfect mix of australian shepherd (her dad) and boxer/pit mix (her mom). A single lady would be prefered as she's not quite sure of men yet, but we are sure could learn to love them too? She did spend the first 6 months of her life in a pen outside with her littermates, so we would love a new owner that can work with her on socializing. Once in a new home, she is loving and a loyal velcro pooch. Amy has completed a 6 week training course. No children please, as she was adopted and returned due to her being afraid of littles! If you would like to be considered to adopt Amy please fill out the application today. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and a loving little girl. Her adoption fee is $300. To meet her you can do a non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org.  Any questions, email kreuger9367@yahoo.com      January 21, 2026, 1:13 pm
