Story
Meet Pattie! 🐾 Pattie successfully completed 10 weeks of basic training at our GRC partner location! Pattie is a 1.5-year-old Border Collie mix with a playful, affectionate nature and a bright, eager-to-learn personality. She has a sweet and loving disposition, always ready to give affection to those she trusts. With patience, consistency, and persistent training, Pattie will no doubt improve her skills and become a well-mannered and devoted companion. She has so much love to give and will make a wonderful addition to a home! Although Pattie doesn't seem to mind the presence of other dogs, we feel that she would prefer to be the only dog in the home. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need! To schedule a meet with Pattie text Melissa 440-503-5228

Lia and Nico are the two best companions anyone could wish for. It would be wonderful if they were adopted together. They are brother and sister 8 years old purchased from a breeder in Eastern PA at 12 weeks. They are sweet, loyal, loving, obedient, incredibly smart and wonderful companions. Nico prefers to be outside but is equally happy indoors. Lia prefers to be where you are, whether indoors or out. Again super smart and respond to Come, Stay, Sit, Paw, Down, Sit on Beds, Find the ball.

Story
Milo is a striking traditional black-and-white Border Collie with a refined elegance and a gentle spirit. While he may take a moment to warm up to new people, he soon reveals his affectionate nature and endearing, playful personality. As a devoted companion, Milo thrives on close connection, making him the ideal "Velcro dog" who finds true contentment by his person's side. He would do best in a home that has someone home (work from home), has a dog walker or can take him to daycare. Milo arrived at the shelter when his previous owner, facing significant health challenges, could no longer provide the care he deserved. Fortunately, his owner invested substantial time in his training, which is evident in his current foster environment. Milo demonstrates impressive obedience, including sit, down, paw, stay, come, and additional commands we are continuing to discover. He has prior experience with clicker training and agility work, and was even trained for off-leash reliability—though we have yet to test this in a controlled setting. These skills position him as an exceptional partner for active, engaged households. Milo exhibits exemplary house manners. He has had no accidents or marking incidents, and he efficiently completes his outdoor routines before promptly returning indoors. He interacts harmoniously with other dogs, showing respect and deference to his foster housemates. During cat introductions at the shelter, Milo displayed indifference, and in one instance, appeared mildly cautious toward the feline. Milo enjoys walks/runs and maintains good leash etiquette. He can become mildly enthusiastic upon spotting other dogs, an area we are addressing through ongoing positive reinforcement training. Travel poses no issue for Milo; he rides calmly and contentedly in the car, often appearing to relish these outings. Due to his innate herding instincts, we recommend a home without children under 10 years of age to ensure a smooth transition for all. We continue to learn more about Milo each day, so please check back for updates. If you have an approved application on file (valid for two years) or have recently submitted one for another dog, we invite you to contact tlb145@aim.com for additional details and next steps. Come see Milo and his friends on our web page https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs Location: Northeast Ohio Contact: tlb145@aim.com

Penny is about 3 years old. Great with other dogs and kids! Penny likes cats, but would do better in a home without them. She is high energy and would love a big yard to run and play. She is very lovey! Loves to play fetch and run around. She is also a great protector! She would make a great addition to a good family with kids who love to run and play! She’s got boundless amounts of energy and loves to play!

Story
We adopted Waylon at 10 weeks. Once bringing him home, our cat has not been happy. These past couple of days our cat had stopped eating. We took several days/weeks to introduce them slowly with supervised visits. Waylon is a puppy, we know but once he sees the cat he will attack almost like a hunting dog. Waylon with the right training would be great on farm or hunting dog. My husband and I do not live on a farm. We also think he would do great with another dog at home that he can play with. We know he needs more time to run and play but my husband and I both work. We have reached out to a trainer. They said he needs lots of things to keep up with his high enegery. We are doing our best. We want him to have a good life. But also want our cat happy too. He is almost up to date with all his puppy shots, he was heartwarmed in November. He had a fecal sample done a few weeks ago and it came back negative. I have all paperwork from vet. He is also crate trained.
