Story
Meet Scout, a 70-pound bundle of enthusiasm who approaches life like every day is the best day ever. This handsome boy is a male Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for adventure. He was found as a stray and no one claimed him. If you’re looking for a dog who’s ready to get out, get moving, and make the most of every moment, Scout is already wagging his tail to meet you.Scout is full of energy and would thrive in an active household where walks, hikes, playtime, and outdoor adventures are part of the daily routine. He’s the kind of dog who wakes up ready to go and can’t wait to see what fun the day will bring. Now, in the spirit of honesty, Scout is still working on his leash manners. He’s strong and can pull when he gets excited, so he’ll need a confident handler who can keep up with his enthusiasm and help guide him in the right direction. With some basic training and consistency, Scout has all the potential to learn the ropes and become a great walking partner. Right now he’s just a little too excited about the world around him to remember his manners.Scout also has a serious interest in the local wildlife population. Squirrels, birds, and anything that scurries tends to grab his attention immediately, which means a home with cats or small furry pets probably isn’t the best match for this curious guy. Compatibility with other dogs is unknown. Compatibility with children is unknown but older children are a better bet. Scout is currently available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program. That means you can welcome him into your home and start bonding right away while he completes his vetting with the shelter veterinarian. His vetting includes neuter surgery, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and a microchip. If you’re ready for a big, fun-loving dog who will keep life exciting and make sure you never skip leg day on your walks, Scout might just be your perfect adventure buddy. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an online dog adoption application to meet Scout. Scout’s adoption fee is $160.

Lia and Nico are the two best companions anyone could wish for. It would be wonderful if they were adopted together. They are brother and sister 8 years old purchased from a breeder in Eastern PA at 12 weeks. They are sweet, loyal, loving, obedient, incredibly smart and wonderful companions. Nico prefers to be outside but is equally happy indoors. Lia prefers to be where you are, whether indoors or out. Again super smart and respond to Come, Stay, Sit, Paw, Down, Sit on Beds, Find the ball.

Story
Meet Bowie! Bowie is a 1-year-old Border Collie (we're getting him DNA tested!) weighing about 40 pounds, and he’s the perfect blend of playful, smart, and sweet. Like a true Border Collie, Bowie is incredibly intelligent and loves having something to do—whether that’s solving a puzzle toy, playing fetch, or inventing his own games. One of Bowie’s cutest tricks is entertaining himself with his toys. He’ll toss them up in the air and leap up to catch them all by himself (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds). We’re pretty sure he’d be a natural at Frisbee, too! Bowie loves going to the dog park and playing with other dogs, and before the cold weather hit he was getting pretty good at fetch. Bowie is also a very intuitive boy who pays close attention to his people. When someone he loved got hurt and upset, Bowie immediately came over to comfort them with kisses and cuddles. He forms strong bonds and gets very excited to see his favorite humans—sometimes greeting them with happy whining and little “love nibbles” because he just can’t contain his joy. He enjoys cuddling, though like many young, active dogs he can get bored if there isn’t enough going on. When he’s tired, though, he’s perfectly happy to sprawl across your lap and soak up the snuggles. Bowie is good with dogs and kids and would thrive in a home that can keep his smart Border Collie brain engaged with play, training, and activity. He previously did well walking on leash and responding to commands in public, and with a little consistency he’ll likely pick those skills right back up. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and clever companion who will keep you laughing and shower you with love, Bowie might just be your guy.  Apply to adopt at www.rescue330.org. Bowie's adoption fee is $250. ##2676820##
