Story
Bonnie is a 2 year old Aussie shepherd/sheltie mix female. She is only 25 pounds and does not mind being an only dog. She is dog selective but prefers males and will play non stop. She is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and spayed and ready to go to her new home. She jumps up a lot. Working on the jumping but part of that is her young energy. She loves to kiss people and likes sitting outside when it is sunny. This is one girl that loves belly rubs.  To adopt Bonnie, please do our non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org so we can see if you are a good match. She is a bit of an escape artist. Her adoption fee is $350. Any questions, please email marty@pawsandprayers.org.  She was positive for Anaplasma Phagocytophilum and Lyme tick disease so we will gave her medication for 30 days.  She will need to have bloodwork done again in another 6 months to see if she needs any antibiotic again. It is cheap (around $10 for 30 pills) and is a small pill. Hopefully it is cleared up now. Her young age works in her favor. Story
Margie is a sweet Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie/Australian Shepherd mix girl weighing in at 46 pounds. Paws and Prayers received her after she and her sister were hit by a car. Another rescue took her sister. Margie limped and had a luxated patella so we took her to access possible surgery. Unfortunately when blood work was completed she had all three tick diseases with a finding of 467. The three kind of tick diseases were Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis and Lyme. A reading of 30 means they are experiencing problems with the tick disease so three vets were talked to had NEVER seen 467 and referred the findings to specialty vets who said it was not a time for surgery.. Also, she had a corona virus in her blood. Surgery could not be completed under these circumstances. If the leg was operated on it would probably get infected and would be of no use.  So we waited and she had several doses of antibiotics. It took 5 months to clear her blood but by that time scar tissue formed on the leg and she would not get much relief from surgery. She will always have a little bit of a limp and need medication as arthritis will probably set in as she gets older. She will need Carprofen and Gabapentin the rest of her life. Her foster mom has been paying for it and says it would cost about $33 a month. She would also need to be checked in another six months to verify extent of tick disease and recovery rate.  And of course, she will need to be on heartworm and flea medications. Definitely needs a home without too many steps. She can go down my three steps to the outside but I have to lift her back end up to get her up the steps. Margie is frightened of new people but once she bonds with you , she will love so deeply, you will never be able to let her go. Her adoption fee is $350. You will need to complete a non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org in order to meet her. Any questions, email marty@pawsandprayers.org.   This pet qualifies for the Pets for Patriots program  https://www.petsforpatriots.org/veterans/ December 5, 2025, 3:39 am

Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet.  Meet Georgia Georgia is a one-year-old mixed breed sweetheart with the most charming “guess-my-breed” look. She’s medium-sized at about 25 lbs and could easily pass for a blend of Aussie doodle, wire-haired German Shorthaired Pointer, and maybe a splash of English Springer Spaniel. Translation: she’s adorable, unique, and totally one of a kind. Georgia is friendly and social, doing great with other dogs and kids. She enjoys companionship and has a gentle, loving personality that makes her an easy fit for a family or an active individual. She’s currently showing a bit of mild separation anxiety, which is improving with calming chews and may simply be due to the shelter environment — she’s already making good progress. We don’t yet know how Georgia feels about cats, but with her sweet nature, she’s eager to learn and adjust in the right home. She’s at a wonderful age where she’s ready to bond, train, and grow into an amazing lifelong companion. If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate pup with lots of potential and love to give, Georgia might just be your girl. Adoption fee $400  All Paws and Prayers animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (age appropriate) and are given monthly flea/heartworm prevention.  Adoption fees also include the pet's spay/neuter and microchipping.  The first step in the adoption process is to complete a no-obligation adoption application at www.pawsandprayers.org.     December 23, 2025, 10:17 am
