Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Colt is a striking red Border Collie with brains, bounce, and a whole lot of heart. True to his breed, this boy is extremely intelligent, agile, and always ready for his next job. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to do life with you — Colt is your guy. He is potty trained and crate trained (though he may voice a small opinion about the crate at first). He settles quickly and is very responsive to gentle correction. Colt is also neutering soon, which should help curb some of his outdoor marking habits. He did attempt to mark indoors once, received one correction, and hasn’t tried again — smart boy! Colt does beautifully with other dogs. He reads them well, plays appropriately, and genuinely enjoys canine companionship. In fact, he recently discovered the joy of toys after another dog showed him how fun they can be! He’ll engage with toys, but truthfully, he prefers being close to his human above all else. As expected from a Border Collie, Colt is high energy and thrives when he has a purpose. He is still learning leash manners and working on impulse control (he can get excited and jump up), but he is incredibly attentive and eager to learn. He already knows “sit” and “down,” has excellent distance recall, and picks up on training quickly. With structure and consistency, he will absolutely shine. He has a big-dog bark when someone approaches the door — he takes his “alert system” job seriously! — but the moment they walk in, he turns into all wiggles and friendliness. We’re also working on not bolting out doors in his excitement to greet people. Colt has not yet been introduced to cats or children. This handsome, high-drive boy will thrive in an active home that understands the Border Collie mindset — one that offers exercise, mental stimulation, and partnership. He is deeply loyal, highly trainable, and ready to bond with someone who appreciates a smart, spirited companion. If you’re looking for a brilliant adventure buddy who wants to be your right-hand man, Colt is waiting. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. MBR Farm is offering ONE Free Private Training session for dogs adopted from us in the month of March. That is a $125 value. MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Trey is a one-year-old Border Collie mix with the most gentle heart and a spirit that truly inspires. This handsome boy does well with other dogs and is both potty trained and crate trained. He already knows “sit” and “stay,” and with how food-motivated he is, he’ll happily learn even more! Trey enjoys a calm, cozy lifestyle. He sleeps quite a bit right now — which may simply be part of healing and adjusting after everything he’s been through — but when he’s awake, he’s content just being near his people. He absolutely loves to be petted, gives the sweetest kisses, and is happiest simply sharing a room with you. He prefers one-on-one time over toys and seems most comfortable engaging directly with his person. While toys don’t interest him much, he does enjoy a good bone. He can be a little unsure around men at first, but with patience and kindness, he warms up and builds trust beautifully. Trey came to us in very rough shape and required a double amputation of a leg and his tail. Despite everything, he remains in wonderful spirits. He doesn’t let his differences define him — he’s resilient, loving, and ready for a family who will cherish him just as he is. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will stay close by your side and fill your home with quiet love, Trey may be your perfect match. Story
Brody is a great puppy but needs trained. He loves people to include children. He has not been around other animals so I am not sure how he will react. He is crate trained, not house trained. Unfortunately with jobs, our schedules would keep him in a crate most of the day and he deserves better. Looking to rehome him to an owner or family who can give him more attention.

Lia and Nico are the two best companions anyone could wish for. It would be wonderful if they were adopted together. They are brother and sister 8 years old purchased from a breeder in Eastern PA at 12 weeks. They are sweet, loyal, loving, obedient, incredibly smart and wonderful companions. Nico prefers to be outside but is equally happy indoors. Lia prefers to be where you are, whether indoors or out. Again super smart and respond to Come, Stay, Sit, Paw, Down, Sit on Beds, Find the ball.

Story
Meet Scout, a 70-pound bundle of enthusiasm who approaches life like every day is the best day ever. This handsome boy is a male Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for adventure. He was found as a stray and no one claimed him. If you’re looking for a dog who’s ready to get out, get moving, and make the most of every moment, Scout is already wagging his tail to meet you.Scout is full of energy and would thrive in an active household where walks, hikes, playtime, and outdoor adventures are part of the daily routine. He’s the kind of dog who wakes up ready to go and can’t wait to see what fun the day will bring. Now, in the spirit of honesty, Scout is still working on his leash manners. He’s strong and can pull when he gets excited, so he’ll need a confident handler who can keep up with his enthusiasm and help guide him in the right direction. With some basic training and consistency, Scout has all the potential to learn the ropes and become a great walking partner. Right now he’s just a little too excited about the world around him to remember his manners.Scout also has a serious interest in the local wildlife population. Squirrels, birds, and anything that scurries tends to grab his attention immediately, which means a home with cats or small furry pets probably isn’t the best match for this curious guy. Compatibility with other dogs is unknown. Compatibility with children is unknown but older children are a better bet. Scout is currently available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program. That means you can welcome him into your home and start bonding right away while he completes his vetting with the shelter veterinarian. His vetting includes neuter surgery, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and a microchip. If you’re ready for a big, fun-loving dog who will keep life exciting and make sure you never skip leg day on your walks, Scout might just be your perfect adventure buddy. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an online dog adoption application to meet Scout. Scout’s adoption fee is $160.

Story
In the Prison Dog Program Meet Damian!! He came in as a stray on 11/16/25, and we think he’s about 3 years old. This is actually his second time here—he was adopted from us in 2023. We aren't sure why his owner hasn’t come in to pick him up, but what we do know is that Damian is ready to start fresh with someone who truly sees his sparkle. Damian is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky guy who just needs someone who can help him channel all that enthusiasm into fun, love, and adventure. He is super sweet, incredibly friendly, and he gives the kind of gentle kisses that melt your heart on contact. He already knows how to sit and shake, and he’s eager to learn more—especially if treats are involved! He is available for adoption, so hurry in to meet this lovable boy who’s hoping his next home is his forever one. Damian is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH Phone: 419-774-5892 It is an application process. You can request one via dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov
