Meet Leia A Sweet Little Border Terrier Mix Ready to Be Someone’s Beloved Companion Breed: Border Terrier Mix Gender: Female | Age: 9/28/2025 Weight: 12 lbs Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Kids ✔️ | Cats: Unknown Personality: ❤️ Sweet | Loving | Playful | Affectionate Medical: Spayed and vaccines up to date Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality & Breed Information Leia is an adorable Border Terrier mix weighing approximately 12 pounds. She's a sweet young girl with a lovable personality, a playful spirit, and plenty of affection waiting for the family lucky enough to call her their own. Leia is good with other dogs and children, while her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. At only one year old, Leia is still a young dog with plenty of energy and curiosity, but she's beginning to move beyond the puppy stage. She's at a wonderful age for a family looking for a little companion they can continue training, exploring with, and building a lifelong bond with. ❤️ Personality & Breed Information Border Terriers are known for being friendly, affectionate, curious, and full of personality. They often have a wonderful combination of playful Terrier energy and a loving, people-oriented nature, making them fun little companions who enjoy being part of everyday family life. As a Terrier, they may also be bright, confident, adventurous, and eager to explore. They benefit from daily walks, playtime, mental enrichment, and positive-reinforcement training to keep both their body and mind engaged. With plenty of affection, consistency, and opportunities to have fun, a Border Terrier can make a loving, entertaining, and devoted little companion Training, Adjustment & What to Expect At one year old, Leia is still learning and maturing. Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so her adopter should be prepared to continue working on house training as needed, leash manners, basic commands, recall, household boundaries, and positive socialization. Small dogs need training and structure just as much as larger dogs. Positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency will help Leia understand what is expected of her while strengthening the bond she shares with her new family. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand her new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home These are guidelines rather than deadlines. Leia should be given the time she needs to adjust comfortably to her new life. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Leia's spay, vaccination, and microchip status have not been provided. Her adopter should review her medical records with a veterinarian and continue routine wellness examinations, recommended vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, grooming, nail care, healthy weight management, and veterinary treatment whenever necessary. Dental care is especially important for small dogs, so Leia's teeth and gums should be monitored throughout her life. Her coat may also require routine professional grooming depending on its length and texture. If Leia has inherited the shorter facial structure sometimes seen in Shih Tzus, her family should be mindful of heat and strenuous exercise, especially during hot or humid weather. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Leia, please complete an adoption application: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Ozzie and Friends Rescue is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and helping them find safe, loving forever homes. While based in Southern California, we coordinate safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Our goal is to give every dog the best possible chance of finding the right family and a home where they will be loved and cared for throughout their life. Adopting Leia means committing to her veterinary care, grooming, training, safety, companionship, and happiness for the rest of her life. Leia may be only 12 pounds, but she has a whole lot of love waiting to be given. She's young, sweet, and ready for walks, cuddles, adventures, and all those ordinary little moments that turn a dog into family. Now Leia just needs someone to choose her—and keep choosing her for all the years ahead.October 16, 2026, 9:57 am

Story
We hope that you may like to meet a little one we have named Benjamin. He looked like the saddest, lost, downtrodden, little boy when he was found in Chatsworth Park, abandoned by his people. Our friends at the animal shelter sent the owners on the microchip a letter and numerous phone calls, but never got a response. He is doing much better, as he had been badly neglected and lost some hair due to flea dermatitis and probably not the best dog food. He is becoming more happy now that he is being taken care of. Benjamin is a little angel, around 9 or 10 years old, and probably cannot understand why his people didn’t want him anymore. But he’s coming out of his shell now that he’s receiving some love and attention. Benjamin is around 15 pounds, healthy, neutered, microchipped, has all his vaccinations, and lots of love to offer. For more information and small videos, please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email for sponsorships and donations). You can also text at 818-606-7754, sometimes it gets a bit hectic and we cannot always answer the phone.

Story
This affectionate, attentive, and playful little girl absolutely adores everyone she meets and is always ready to melt into your arms for a snuggle. Seriously, she may be one of the snuggliest puppies around! Whether she’s being held like a baby, soaking up belly rubs, or curling up beside you for a movie, Margot is happiest when she’s close to her people. When she’s not busy cuddling, Margot loves playing with her foster pup sibling, Rye, and showing off her fun, playful side. The two can have a blast romping around together before settling down for some peaceful downtime. She also enjoys soaking up the sunshine and, as a food-motivated little terrier mix, is always happy when treats are involved! Margot has a lovely balance of being affectionate and independent. She adores attention but is also perfectly content relaxing on her own bed or hanging out nearby without needing constant reassurance. This little sweetheart is also incredibly smart and eager to learn! Despite being so young, she’s already picking up on routines quickly and has learned to sit, settle on her mat, make eye contact, and wait for permission before eating. She’s doing wonderfully with crate training, happily going into her crate and sleeping through the night. She’s also making great progress with potty training, using pee pads when needed and beginning to learn to go outside. Like any young puppy, she’ll need continued patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as she grows. Margot has been wonderful with her foster dog sibling and has been very relaxed around other dogs she’s seen from a distance, though she’s still being carried on walks and hasn’t had much direct interaction with unfamiliar dogs yet. She’s also learning that having her paws, nails, and teeth handled can be a positive experience, and she’s been very receptive to treats and gentle encouragement. Margot is the kind of puppy who will make you laugh with her playful antics, impress you with how quickly she learns, and completely steal your heart when she snuggles into your arms. She deserves a family excited to help her grow into the amazing dog she’s already showing signs of becoming. If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly companion who will happily join you for playtime, training sessions, sunshine breaks, and plenty of cozy couch cuddles, Margot might just be your perfect match!

Story
TEDDY: Norfolk Terrier Mix • Neutered Male • 2.5 Years Old • 12 lbs Teddy is a sweet, loving, and gentle little boy who has been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. Despite his difficult past, Teddy has remained affectionate and trusting, and he truly enjoys being close to people. He loves being pampered, receiving attention, and feeling safe beside someone who cares about him. Teddy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has a calm, easygoing personality. He is not an excessive barker and is not destructive. He is crate-trained, enjoys going for car rides, and loves taking walks in the park. He is the kind of companion who would be happiest simply knowing he is finally safe, loved, and part of a family. Teddy was surrendered to the CAC (Canine Care Center) along with several other dogs after their owner brought them there to be euthanized. They had reportedly suffered mistreatment and neglect, and Teddy arrived at the shelter in poor physical condition. Thankfully, a compassionate rescuer stepped in and gave Teddy and the others a second chance at life. Today, Teddy is ready to leave his painful past behind. All he needs now is a loving family who will show him that life can be gentle, that people can be kind, and that he will never again be abandoned or mistreated. Teddy has already survived the hardest part. Now he deserves the beautiful ending he has been waiting for—a safe home, a loving family, and a forever place where he can finally feel cherished. Every dog deserves a safe and loving home. Adopt a rescue dog today; we are their voice! Contact: Reyna Email: miracledogrescue@gmail.com Phone: 323-383-8883
