Story
Meet Nico!Roughly 1 year old and 26 pounds, Nico is a scruffy little Border Terrier mix with the cutest quirky ears — one sticks straight up while the other flops down whenever he gets excited (which is often).Nico ended up in the shelter alongside his brother through absolutely no fault of his own, and he’s been winning hearts ever since. He’s a sweet, gentle boy who walks great on leash and loves being near his people. Equal parts adorable and soulful, Nico has that kind of personality that sneaks up on you fast.To meet Nico, please fill out an adoption application HERE: https://muttsinneed.org/apply/adopt

Story
Meet Mooshu, a 15-pound bundle of love who is ready for his true second chance. At 5 years old, Mooshu’s story started with a scary stay at a high-pressure shelter, but he has since blossomed into a volunteer favorite! He is a social butterfly who has never met a stranger he didn’t love, and he is famous for greeting every new person with a wagging tail and plenty of happy kisses. Mooshu is a dream on a leash and a highly motivated student when treats are involved. While he gets along great with other dogs, he is a bit of a "collector" when it comes to his favorite things. Because he values his toys so highly and isn't quite ready to share his prize possessions just yet, he would thrive best in a home with adults or older, respectful children who understand that a dog's toys are his kingdom. This resilient boy is a total "lover" who would be over the moon to be the center of your attention. He has so much affection to give and is simply waiting for a family who will cherish his sweet, quirky personality. If you're looking for a loyal, kiss-giving companion to fill your home with joy, Mooshu is your guy. You can apply to give Mooshu the loving home he deserves at https://www.muttsinneed.org/adoption-application.html

Story
Meet Sandy! She is an 11-pound, 1-year-old Border Terrier Chihuahua mix with a sweet, affectionate personality and a love for being close to her people. Sandy absolutely adores humans and is especially fond of kind kids. She enjoys cuddling, going for walks, and mealtime, and she loves being part of everyday life. She gets along with other dogs after a little time to warm up, but she would prefer a home without cats. Sandy has even enjoyed outings to places like PetSmart and Lowe’s and is happiest when she is near her people. She sleeps comfortably in a crate near your bed at night and walks nicely on a leash. Sandy knows how to sit and is eager to learn more since she is very food motivated. She is still working on potty training and will use a potty pad when needed. She also loves playing with toys and will happily chase after anything you toss her way. Sandy is ready to find a loving home where she can be surrounded by her people and soak up all the affection she deserves. If you are interested in adopting, please visit the I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue website and complete an adoption application: www.icaredogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter • shots up to date • micro-chip • fecal and vet check Breeds and age are not guaranteed. Tobby would thrive in a home that can provide: Daily walks and activity Continued socialization and engagement Structure and consistency Inclusion as part of the family He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a sweet, affectionate, and social young dog who enjoys both adventures and cuddles. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Young dogs especially still require continued training, structure, and supervision as they grow and mature. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Tobby will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and routine Continued leash training and socialization Patience and consistency during adjustment Mental stimulation and engagement Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Tobby will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment As a young dog, Tobby will continue learning and developing emotionally and socially over time. Consistency, patience, and structure are important for helping him grow into a confident adult dog. Tobby is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
