Story
Starlight is a tiny little girl about 5 pounds and she is eight weeks old.   She is a really happy, loving little girl.   Full grown, we believe she will be under 25 pounds   You're interested in meeting or adopting her please go straight to our website and fill out the online adoption application at fochp.org      Please fill out our online application (www.fochp.org).  Once you meet the pet and decide it is the right pet for your family there is an adoption fee.  The adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, microchip, 30-day pet health insurance which you will need to order when we provide you with the number.    Our adoption fees are non-refundable so please be sure you are ready for a commitment to the pet you are interested in. Please be sure to check your spam mail if you feel you have not heard from us. Once we receive the application, we can put you in touch with the foster home so you can schedule a time to meet the pet.  Our adoption process is pretty quick, and a lot of volunteers are involved to ensure you get a quick response.  Please…. only fill out the application if you are ready to adopt right now and have consent from all parties involved.  Once you submit the application please verify that it is received (the screen will say your application has been received) if you do not get that message it has not been submitted. – if you do not hear from us within 1 hour, we may not have received your application.    Adoptions are based on Best fit/match and then 1st come 1st serve.  Please check your email regularly for a response from the foster and be prepared for the opportunity to meet the dog as soon as they can be adopted.    April 15, 2024, 8:00 pm

Story
Hi! My name is Mickey, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in Los Angeles! I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea by the DoVE Project. My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family! ID/NAME: DV23-005 / Mickey SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Male / 21 lbs / 2 yrs BIRTH DATE: July 1, 2021 BREED: Spitz mix VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER/HEALTH: Vaccinations complete. Neutered. Healthy. BEHAVIOR: Mickey is a charming pup with an outgoing and positive personality. He loves being around people and also enjoys playing with other dogs. Mickey is doing well learning to walk on a leash. SIBLINGS/FAMILY: Eileen, Rosanna BACKGROUND: Mickey was rescued from a slaughterhouse in Yangpyeong in July 2023. ABOUT OUR DOGS DoVE dogs come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors. ********************************* DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form.
