Darling sleeps in a cage and prefers to isolate herself from the other dogs in foster care. She walks well on a leash and does not seem to be much of a barker. Once in awhile she will play with the other small foster dogs, but in truth, Darling prefers the safety and comfort of people. She does get along with kids and we are not sure about cats. She is young enough to learn in our opinion. Darling needs a very patient home; when she meets people, she is not ready to jump in your lap. If you have patience and are willing, foster her for two or three weeks before committing to adopting her. We want to know she is welcomed and loved. ALSO! Darling liked the beach. When he first came to us, he was very timid and scared, often hiding under the table to feel safe. With patience and consistency, he has begun to warm up to his foster and is showing his sweet, loyal nature. He will need a special adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let him move at his own pace. Once he bonds, that connection is truly meaningful. He absolutely loves other dogs, and having a confident canine companion in the home would be a big bonus to help him feel secure and comfortable. His ideal home would be calm and quiet, with minimal traffic and no small children. A peaceful environment will allow him to continue building confidence and learning that the world can be a safe place. For someone with a gentle heart and a little patience, this boy will make a deeply rewarding companion.
