"Melody is a lovely girl with lots of love to give. She is friendly, affectionate, loyal, playful, smart, curious, funny, athletic and quiet all in one! She is a very dignified dog but can be a bit of a couch potato too, and she definitely loves her doggie kisses. Melody is a lovely, unique girl and I'm sure she will bring lots of joy to her new owners. She came into rescue with her 4 babies and was a wonderful mom. She just completed heartworm treatment and is a happy girl. She gets along with other dogs but would love to be the only dog in the home so that she can receive all the love and attention from her new family. She is a very special girl and all she needs if to find the right home." Melody is two and a half years old, weighs 52#, is spayed, vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is 400.00

He's a compact guy, weighing in at 46 pounds, and already knows basic commands like sit and paw. He is crate and house trained. Buddy loves other dogs, cats, and kids. He would be a wonderful companion to someone who enjoys being outside for walks and hikes. Buddy has gotten the all-clear at the vet, is ready to travel, and would love to find his forever family very soon. Story
Lucy had a hard life, and has the scars to show it. She was picked up from animal control and spent some time in doggie jail. She was lucky to cross the path of a kind person to get her out and got her vetting done. Heart worm treatment was done so she came into foster care. She is now looking for the perfect home to call her very own. Lucy is a bundle of energy. So a fenced yard would be great for her. A family that can take her on outdoor adventures would make this girl happy. She will need some training in manners, she likes to jump up & doesn't realize how big she is. She gets along very well with all the dogs in foster care, little ones & big ones. She takes cues from them very well and doesn't push her luck when they say nope don't want to play. A buddy would be great for her that has the play power as her. She would love to find her forever home and putting her old life behind her. Lucy is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested posfor heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! Story
Miranda is a very sweet young girl who is living life as a queen now. She hadn't been able to live that life before rescue stepped in and took her and her 3 pups. Miranda had found her way to the local landfill, got pregnant, and had her sweet babies. She has weaned them and they have all been adopted. Now it is Miranda's turn to find that forever home she deserves!! Watch her video on youtube - https://youtu.be/TvQD6IpMO8Y You can tell by watching the video, she is a people-pleaser and loves to listen to her human and receive the love and affection she can get! Miranda is crate and house-trained and has learned how to use a doggie door. She is very smart and loves to give kisses all day long. She is shy at first and is learning that she can trust humans again. Once she gets familiar with her surroundings, she does well. She would make a great addition to any family. She would love to stretch her legs by going on a walk, jog, or hike with her human. She hasn't been on a leash/harness for walking so her foster mom is working with her to get her used to it. She will be high-stepping it in no time at all!! Miranda does enjoy being a couch potato on these cold winter days. If you are looking for a great companion that is already housetrained, then look no further than Miranda! Miranda is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. Story
Monty is a sweet, well socialized, gem of a pup. He is affectionate, happy, and all kinds of fun! Monty is ready to be your perfect outdoor adventure partner and will make a welcome addition to his new home. Montey Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. Story
Meet Dillon. He's a sweet and energetic 3 year old pitbull mix at around 68 lbs. He absolutely loves love and is a huge cuddle bug. In the time we have had him, he has never known a stranger and wants scratches from every person he meets. He loves any chew toy he can get and will chase any ball you throw though he doesn't quite understand the concept of fetching yet. He is still working on his manners but is very quick to please. We think he would be happiest as a solo dog mainly because he wants all of your attention and love.
